Residence Inn Merrillville - Hotel in Merrillville - 8018 Delaware Pl, USA

Granted the room we were in was a nice size. The shower still has soap in it from who knows when, bathrooms for had hair from someone else on it, carpet was crunchy, kitchen cabinets all were sticky, half the lights did not work. The halls had yeah all up and down them from the guests and what looks like network cables hanging from the ceiling. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The gentleman working the desk late night at check in was the best! Very informative and friendly. The woman at the front counter, you could tell she was a little annoyed already from other guests being greedy with the breakfast, but over all was friendly and polite. Would come back only for the service, not the rooms.

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here. The rooms are decent. The manager on duty (Tracy) was the absolute best! He is so awesome and customer friendly. Update: No matter how many times I put out the “do not disturb” sign or turn the lock to privacy, housekeeping always wakes me up. It’s like they are incapable of noticing a sign or just simply don’t care. It’s quite annoying.

The front desk and maintenance staff were very friendly. However the two bedroom suite was soooo old we did not want to sit on the couch or use anything in the kitchen. For $300 for the night it was way below standards!! |The place just gave a “ick vibe.|I would never stay here until major renovations are done!

Awesome Service from each staff member I encountered on my 3-night stay. The room was clean. However, the furniture & carpet is old the televisions/remote didn't work in the living room area. The Bed was hard and not very comfortable. This hotel needs remodeling.

Overall, this is a hotel to avoid. ||On the positive side, I appreciated the friendly check-in and the fact that we could get a two-bedroom suite.||On the negative side: First, our room smelled really bad. The smell seemed to be embedded in the carpet. Second, all of the furniture in the room was quite aged, dented, flaking, etc. Third, in the morning, there was ONE employee who had to handle both the front desk and the breakfast area, even though the hotel was really crowded. She put out food once every half hour. It was gone within about 5 minutes. There was no milk or dairy because their cooling system was broken. ||Overall, I get the sense that the place is falling apart and poorly run. Go somewhere else!

Helllo everyone its me Kayla, I want to say first of all of the Marriott Residence Inn Gods Favoites Team, they truely wotk together as a team. Mr Tracey Ambrose is a great G M . And I am a military wife and I could honestly say this hotel is a great hotel, and in all circumstances of joy happiness and laughter and loss of a family member they put a smile on your face and make you feel at home, in all circumstances my room was clean, beds very soft, pool clean , hot tub nice. When Holiday inn messed up my reservations, and during Labor day weekend coming in, I was going from hotel to hotel and low and behold I found the Residence Inn in Merrillville Indiana and I had a time to relax for my Dads funeral!! And that I will never forget! Learn from our experience dont always depend on 1800 numbers on reservations always call the hotel because Holiday In did me wrong. Yhe whole Team in Residence Inn were so nice and compassionate and so happy and that put a smile on my face. Thank you Mr Ambrose and Andrew Wallace and Cheryl Wall for everything. You wont regret your stay God Bless everyone and the Gods Favorite Team Residence Inn!!! Thank You Army wife!😊 And I know they will take care of you and you will enjoy yout stay there! Will be back soon! I also wanted to say Marriott Residence Inn in merillville Indiana did not mess up my reservation was a walk inn so thank you for taking care of me with a great team!!!!

I like to complain and I have nothing to complain about. Room was comfy and clean. Ambrose gave me a fantastic welcome to the hotel. Whole staff was friendly. Lots of green grass for my puppy. Surrounded by places to eat and close to the highway but still quiet.

Unfortunately, this property needs a refresh desperately. The rooms are tired, with out of date furnishings and fixtures. However, we did appreciate having enough room for our family. We were in Indiana for a funeral and it was close by. That being said, the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate, though one morning it was not available, probably due to staff shortages. The area around the hotel is changing, so maybe it will be better on a future trip.
