Residence Inn Madison West/Middleton - Hotel in Middleton - 8400 Market St, USA

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Middleton Residence Inn. It is now our "go to" place to stay when we come to Madison to visit family. Our recent five night visit was excellent. The hotel is immaculate; staff is friendly and accommodating and the included breakfast is very good. Special thanks to Troy, who was able to accommodate a special request for room location when I contacted the hotel the night before our arrival. He went above and beyond to assist and it was greatly appreciated.

Checked in on app. Then also stopped to get one more card. Mobile key would not work had to have front reset and give all new keys. Not a huge issue. Mobile key would not work on gym door which employee stated is what everyone says. Gym was nice and 24 hours. Pool was “heated” but still cold. Hot tub worked fine. Stayed in a King suite on 1st floor. Lots of animals. Could hear dogs barking often. Room had large fridge and stove top (no oven), dishwasher and sink. There were pans for stove top and needed kitchen utensils. Did not use. Did have dish washer detergent. It was nice to have full fridge. Door to room was very temperamental and sticky when opening and closing. Nice desk area. Sofa with foot rest. Large TV that we did not turn on. King beg was fine. We hate hotel pillows and these were as bad as all the others. Shower and toilet were on separate room from sink and closet. Full length mirror in closet doors. Cleaning service every two days. Booking stated recently updated room which I would agree, except for shower. Shower was not new and felt dirty. Breakfast was fine. Nice outdoor seating area. Small basketball court, not sure if there were balls to go with. Might need to bring your own. Nice fireplace with books and games for everyone’s use. We would definitely stay again. Good area. Easy to travel down town.

My recent stay at this particular Marriott hotel reminded me of the frustrating times of slow internet speeds and data before WIFI became so easily accessible. The hotel forces you to join rewards just to access "Free Wifi". I also personally feel I was put in a corner room facing the back of the hotel purposely to have me reconsider signing up, I was first ask at the front desk which I denied then again while in my room trying to access wifi via my cellphone. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are a Marriott rewards member. The room was very spacious and somewhat quiet, I was able to hear outside noises and neighbors tvs, this is a kid friendly hotel (good or bad thing) depending who you are. I stayed 1 night only and checked in at 11pm which I'm glad I did because all I had to do was sleep otherwise the wifi situation would've been irritating. I won't be staying here knowing what I know now. I didn’t really care for the older black woman's customer service at the front desk who checked me in (and I'm a black man myself) I watched her give 5 star customer service to the white couple before me then barely make eye contact with me which was a bit weird to me, breakfast was just okay , limit vegan options.

I have stayed at this location several times with my dog. We travel yearly to UW Vet School for him to be rechecked. He had mast cell cancer on his leg that they removed a few years ago. I always stay here bc it is only about 15 minutes from the school plus it is surrounded by plenty of shops & places to eat. My dog is a fan bc the Middleton Public Trail runs right next to the hotel so we can take a nice walk on a paved trail during our stay. Lots of wildlife & places to sniff along the way. The hotel is very clean & updated. Staff is friendly. I also feel safe while staying here as a solo female. My only criticism would be that there is a tree in the doggy bathroom area in the back that could use a good trim since the branch’s hanging make it a little difficult to walk in. We will definitely stay here again. 4 paws up!

One of the worst experiences our family have ever had. Silby at the front desk was rude and incompetent. Our keys wouldn’t work for our rooms. We went down to the front desk 4 times and she was rude the entire time and said it was our fault. She then came upstairs to try to ‘fix’ it by using her employee fob but never fixed our keys. She treated my entire family like we were idiots when she was the one who didn’t program the keys correctly. We showed her they weren’t working and she finally stopped being rude but had no idea how to fix it. We waited an hour and a half for her to come upstairs. We left for a different hotel. I’ve traveled all over the world and this is the WORST service we have ever had.

This hotel was very nice to be at. Staff is friendly, location is good, it’s clean and comfortable. The pool is good. It’s rather big, about 13 meters/42 feet and very clean. There’s a whirlpool next to it as well great for relaxing, though when I used it, it did have a lot of chlorine in it to the point that it was foaming up. That could’ve been a one time thing though cause it didn’t foam up anymore after they cleaned the whirlpool and pool. The breakfast was good and you had a few things to choose from. The hotel is right next to an active railway, but that wasn’t a problem because there was maybe 1 train that passed by while I was there, and you barely hear it. You get some windows that you can open slightly which is great, cause I love opening them up a bit to get some fresh air in the room. A lot of hotels seem to forget to add windows that can be at least cracked open. My only few criticisms of my stay were that when you walk in, there is a small hallway that has 2 sliding doors, probably to keep the cold out, and that hallway had a very unpleasant smell. I noticed that they tried to clean it more, but that helped maybe for 1 day. My second criticism, and it’s more nip picking, is that the carpet creates a LOT of static electricity and I was getting shocked every time I moved a bit and touched some metal, I never had this happen this often, so it was quite a surprise. The last thing to mention is that the a/c makes a lot of noise, but contrary to some other hotels I’ve been at, you can at least fully turn it off.

My husband choice this hotel because of the 2 bedroom layout which was cost effective and convenient. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. Their manager was thoughtful and accommodating when I accidentally booked the wrong date. I recommend this hotel and will stay there again when we visit the area.

Great, clean and refreshing for temporary stays. I love that it came with a kitchen which was really helpful for making meals. Location is okay, although 16 mins from Madison downtown. There’s a nearby mall with lots of dining and shopping options.
