Residence Inn Little Rock Downtown - Hotel in Little Rock - 219 River Market Ave, USA

This review is about 6 weeks late, but I feel it's important to write. I travel a lot for work and I stayed at this hotel July 16 - July 18. Overall, the hotel is fine. The room was clean and the employees were nice. However, there was one major issue that I find so unacceptable that I'll never stay here again. The morning of my checkout, a maintenance guy knocked on my door and seemed surprised that I was there. He asked if I was checking out that day, and I said yes but not until later. I had a late checkout scheduled for 2pm. He left, and then I left the hotel to go to a meeting. I came back around 1pm to find that two maintenance men were in my room replacing the air filter without ever getting permission from me. I asked why they were in my room when I still hadn't checked out and they hadn't gotten my permission to enter, and their excuse was that they didn't realize I hadn't checked out yet. This baffles me because my belongings were still all over the room and my open suitcase was right next to him. I told them I found it unacceptable for them to let themselves in my room without even asking me, and when I wasn't even there, and one of them (I'm assuming the manager?) started apologizing while the other guy continued to replace the filter, which was ridiculous because I made it clear that I wasn't happy and wanted them out right then. Replacing a filter is a totally non-urgent matter that could have waited until I left the hotel. I'm a woman traveling alone and I came back to my hotel room to find two men that I don't know had let themselves into my room without asking. My belongings are all over the room so clearly my stay is still active. Beyond that, my underwear is right in the open because I EXPECTED PRIVACY IN MY HOTEL ROOM. I know it's likely that these men are not weirdos and I was probably safe, but it is still a huge breach of privacy and is incredibly unnerving to be in that situation with two men I don't know. I felt violated and on edge. There were several layers where the hotel staff failed here. There is clearly a lack of communication between the front desk and maintenance, because maintenance should have been alerted that I was still a guest and they never should have entered my room to begin with. But beyond that, the maintenance guys had four eyeballs and presumably two brains between them that, upon seeing all my belongings in plain sight, should have clued them in to the fact that I WAS STILL STAYING IN THE ROOM. I let the manager know what happened as I was checking out, and he did hear me out and said he would use this as a training opportunity for the staff. However, this is such a ridiculous violation of privacy that I will never stay here again and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone else, especially women traveling alone. When I travel, my main fear is that someone will let themselves in my room when I don't want them there, and that's exactly what happened at this hotel.

Just had an overnight stay at this location and wanted to share what a great experience it was. Lee was working the evening shift and was an outstanding representative of the company. He was very welcoming and helpful to us and we had great conversations. I watched as he treated every guest and fellow staff member with the utmost respect. Every staff member, and I wish I could remember all their names, were amazing! The property was clean, well kept, and in a very safe location. We would stay here again and definitely recommend anyone passing through Little Rock to make this your stay. Thanks to the whole staff for taking such great care of us!

Could have been a five! Beautiful room with a kitchen. Great location. Breakfast was good. But needed to be attended more by staff. Eggs were out and had to tell them to refill. Wish they had bacon. Very disappointed in hotel staff not being attentive to my request. At 8am phoned down to front desk to ask for a room refresh with clean towels and the basic refresh. I was told not to worry that I’d be put on the list. We were staying several days. When we arrived back to our hotel at 6 pm nothing was done. Called down to the front desk and the lady had no idea why it wasn’t done. Told me to come down to get fresh towels. Asked again why wasn’t the room cleaned. She looked at the computer and said it was never noted to be done. Where is the accountability??? The room was not inexpensive. We do pay for that service. Extremely disappointed! Especially being a Marriott!

The staff is some of the most kindest and personable people we've ever met. They receive 5 stars all of their own. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, and so reasonably priced. Pool was wonderful; breakfast was plentiful and good. We loved it, and didn't want to leave.

Most everything was nice about this hotel. I gave it only 4 stars due to limited parking (typical of downtown) and the dirty bathroom smell in the lobby. Otherwise it was great. Comfy beds, clean rooms, etc. We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms, nice swimming pool and really good breakfast. However, the main thing that stuck out to me the most was how WONDERFUL the staff was to our entire group! From the manager helping our team book rooms all the way to ladies at the front desk they were always so nice and helpful. I’ll forever stay at this hotel if I’m in Little Rock.

Requested housekeeping at 8am. Was insured it would be done. Came back at 6pm. Nothing was done. Very disappointed. Called down to front desk and the lady didn’t know why it wasn’t done. Told me to come down to get clean towels. When I went down I asked again why it wasn’t done. She said it was never noted in computer. So where is the accountability??? The rooms here are not inexpensive. One would think house keeping would be a simple request. Especially being a Marriott.

The residence inn Little Rock really rides the line of being very good and perfect. It is right on the edge of downtown so you can easily walk to all the local restaurants, bars, and shops. Additionally, the street car stops one block over so you can just jump on and ride around Little Rock and north Little Rock. The rooms appear to be updated and very large with comfortable, clean beds. The only negatives I had with the hotel was the service. Not providing body wash when directly requested, Maintenance crew walking into my room unannounced (the hotel apologized and compensated me for this), low quality breakfast, and an inadequate amount of parking. If it wasn’t for these service issues, the residence Inn surely earns a 5 star review. I would recommend staying here and I’ll likely give it another chance.
