Residence Inn Kansas City Country Club Plaza - Hotel in Kansas City - 4601 Broadway Blvd, USA

We recently stayed here on a soccer trip. Our 2 bedroom suite was a great size for 4 teenage boys plus mom, but the AC just could not keep up. Also the sofa bed was very rickety and thankfully they brought us a new mattress for it because the one that was on it when I checked in was smelly and stained. The kitchen size was great and it was nice to have 2 bathrooms and they gave us plenty of towels. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Service was excellent. The entire staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was yummy and they allowed us to keep eating even after breakfast hours. Housekeeping came every day and that was a blessing. Parking garage was helpful (and shaded!) and the Plaza area is fun. Overall I'd say this hotel isn't a very good value for the quality of the facility, but the fact that it's located in the Plaza probably drives the price up.

Took a trip with my daughter up to KC for some shopping and fun before school. Got a great deal through Priceline. Staff was phenomenal, room was clean, comfortable and cool (despite it being 100+ all day). Breakfast was warm and fresh. Being right on the plaza was a great bonus. Their garage is $15 per day but I was able to find overnight parking right out front for free (but it was pretty full).

Stayed in August 2024. Rooms BADLY need renovated and refreshed, they (or at least mine) smell musty and of cigarettes, bathrooms are small and have leaky fixtures, showers have mold/mildew on the caulking, dusty air handling, stained walls and ceilings with mystery splatter, the exterior entrance to my room was unsightly with rusting doors. No bugs or anything but not up to the standard of what I’d expect in a Marriott. Just save your money and find a newer place. Staff is fine, gym is nice, breakfast is standard hotel breakfast, but as mentioned, find a newer hotel.

The staff here is wonderful, with the exception of a night shift male. My bed was very comfortable. Good water pressure. Hot water. Good TV channels. The breakfast is fabulous. I recommend a top floor. You can hear every step above you. And the elevator is currently down, has been for a few months. I will stay again, but on the top floor.

Great location. Nice older hotel. We had a room in the wing section with very few steps and parking right outside our door. Elevators not in working order during our stay. They did offer to place us elsewhere and we declined offer. Good, tasty breakfast, clean, spacious rooms.

I’ve traveled for work for 6 years and this is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at by a long shot. The entire building smells like drugs, my car won’t fit in the parking area, the tv doesn’t work, the water wasn’t hot, the elevator stopped working 4 different times during the stay, and the rooms are extremely dark and dated. If it were any cooler outside I’d probably prefer to sleep in my car. The plaza is great and the only good thing about the hotel, I literally have been leaving any chance I can to go work from somewhere else.

The entire building is filthy: mold smell in one room I left, mold smell when the heater turns on in another room. Employees got very defensive about this. The employees made fun of me for my disability when I asked for help with them sending up a bandaid. They said “oh you had open heart surgery… a bandaid won’t help you” laughed at me in a group and proceeded to tell me about how they made fun of me. I didn’t feel safe and you could tell that a lot of people do drugs there as an extended stay. It was horrible. When I asked for a free night to make up for my multi night stay based on how I was treated, they agreed then put less than 1/17th of a free night of points on my account. This was less than the amount I was promised. My calls were ignored for weeks.

Will is absolutely amazing! All in all, when I think about my stay- he was the most friendly and exuding quality customer service. Ken was the best at efficient and effective communication. I appreciate them more than anything, they embody the principles @Marriott expects.
