Residence Inn Jackson Ridgeland - Hotel in Ridgeland - 855 Centre St, USA

I arrived in town on business and was able to check in early. The gentleman at the front desk told me about an event they were having in the lobby later on that evening. I had enough time to take rest and prepare for my meeting later. The lobby was nice and orderly. They had signs up about being renovated, but I didn’t say any construction in the areas I was in. I was also told about breakfast in the morning. I left that evening to go out to eat, but did stop by the vendors to make some purchases. When I returned that evening I went to get into the bed and was met by a dead spider. I got some tissue and picked it up, then covered that spot with a blanket I had. I was too tired to ask for a room change. The next morning I took my little deceased friend to the front desk and the young lady apologized to me. That was it. No suggestions of anything else’s. Just an I’m sorry. My Uber was literally at the door, so I didn’t have time to contest. I didn’t arrive back at the hotel until after 1 a.m., so I went to sleep and the next day I left. I did go to breakfast and it was so good. The grits were definitely homemade and I always like being able to make a waffle. I enjoyed the employees here. They were all kind and professional. The spaces I was in were nice too. My room was obviously next in line for renovations because at least two drawers were nailed shut, the outlet by the lamp was coming off the wall, and the picture in the bathroom needed to be replaced. It was water damaged. I liked that they provided you with dish soap and a sponge to wash dishes. I’m not sure if I would try this location again. The spider was a bit much for me. Had I not been booked and busy, I would have found another hotel.

No shampoo in rooms Microwave doesn’t work Carpets in the rooms were dirty We got no sleep. There are 4 stages of noise. 1st loud clicking noise that starts the AC, then a sound like an airplane, then complete silence and then a constant buzzing noise until the 1st sound comes back :( We didn’t complain at the hotel. No point there is nothing the staff could have done. This place needs serious remodel and atgention The bathroom countertops are screwed in with the screws sticking out (be careful for little kids)

I like this hotel very much. It's convenient to the places I need to be and the staff is very pleasant. My issue is that the cleanliness has taken a downward turn in the past couple years. I found hair on the bed sheets, there was no iron, the ironing board had stains all over it to where I had to use a towel to protect my items, and as I told the front desk attendant, the desk and table didn't look wiped down at all. When the sunlight hit the table, it looked like it was covered in stains and germs. The desk as well. I carry cleaning products for this purpose but I shouldn't have to do so. I'm a silver Marriott customer and I love the chain but this trip made me sad. It's the little things that made me enjoy my stays.

Absolutely the worst Residence Inn I've ever stayed at. My room floors were dirty and they never came to clean them, even after I requested they do so. They were actually sticky enough to glue my shoes to them. My bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days and the sink is missing the stopper. The hallway on the forth floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a few days either. Bags of trash were sitting out on the 4th floor elevator area from the time I arrived at 4 pm until approximately 9:30 am the next day. During this time I requested they remove this unsightly mess 3 times within a 12 hour period. When I spoke to the manager regarding all of this (on 3/2 around 8 am) all she said was...thank you for telling me. This property is starting to look very run down, and it most certainly is not reflecting the Marriott branding standards. It's borderline disgusting.

I don't know what it is about Jackson MS, but it is very hard to get a nice hotel room, no matter what you pay. It's like nobody really cares. This is the second Marriott property that has been a disappointment. Heat did not work in my room. The breakfast had no forks or napkins. At least the coffee was hot. If you're passing through Jackson, don't stop, just keep driving for a while.

Avoid. Moldy, smelly, dirty. As a Platinum, we "guaranteed" 4 PM late checkout. At 10:30 AM an employee bangs continually on our soor, saying they are leaving early, implying we need to get out now. So we left immediately and would never consider this property again.

It's clean and in a decent location. I liked having a kitchen but it is a little noisy. You will hear doors closing and people walking. Not used to that

When I first arrived I had to sign a paper that forbids you from any decorations, which is something I would have liked to know before hand. The fragrance sprayers in the hall ways are abrasive and burned my nose, but they smelled good. The breakfast was only ok (the biscuits were super oily and not enjoyable and the grits was just ok). The worst part of my stay was the air in the room did not work! To combat this we opened a window to get cool air. Having the window open we worried ppl would hear us put in a noise complaint. We told the staff about our room problem and before we left the room for the day, we closed the window so they could feel the heat we were talking about. When we returned to our room, the staff had opened our windows and not fixed the issue. They never gave an explanation. They never fixed the issue. I regret picking this hotel. They get 2 stars because the suites are pretty nice. But if you have an issue, it might not get resolved during your stay.
