I'm a Bonvoy Silver Elite member and have stayed at many of the Marriott umbrella hotels around the world. This is our fourth visit to this Residence Inn in the last 2 years. My son (14) and I stay while he works with basketball trainers locally for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. We have stayed in the 1 bedroom suite and 2 bedroom suite with full fridge, oven, induction cooktops. dishwasher, coin-op laundry and fully stocked kitchen. We cook almost all of our meals in the room. The staff are warm, friendly, responsive, hardworking and kind. If you need something for the kitchen, they are happy to make it right. The front desk will hold delivered packages and food delivery apps work well. Because of the Residence Inn location and staff, every trip to Grandville is smooth and easy. Grand Rapids airport is 25 minutes away, supermarkets, department stores and restaurants are very close. |The rates are relatively inexpensive and I think an excellent value. Though the property is not perfect, it is well maintained and the staff clearly work hard and take pride in what they do. The elevator was working during our visit. We will be back again in March 2025.

Unfortunately there are a number of items in the room and in the common areas that need to be addressed, i.e., room: bunching carpet (not flat), strong musty smell, shower curtain rods hanging from the wall, not mounted appropriately; the second shower barn style door also did not roll smoothly, requiring one to lift and guide the door to move it from one side to the other. The water temperature was great, however, I am unsure what the required max temp is for hot water, but it should be reviewed or at least a warning to share how hot the water can get…., it could burn your hand. The door to the room was another issue, fortunately it could lock, however, too well, our keys were constantly having to be recoded daily during our 7 day visit. The other serious concern was that the door could not open well, the handle had to be lifted up and full body weight was needed to keep the door from opening. The door was not heavy, the hinges are not allowing the door to operate cleanly. The door issue was brought to the attention of the front desk and we were told it would be looked at, we heard nothing else concerning it, so what I described was considered “resolved” maybe? (Room 212). During our stay the one elevator that serves the property was not functioning; it appeared that this was not a new issue due to a posted sign and what the desk associate shared when checking in, the only accommodation that was shared was we were free to use the stairs to get to our room. What was concerning about this was the fact that the elevator was not fixed in the week while I was there and the desk associate could not remember the last time the elevator worked. If this was the case or even if management was aware prior to reservations that were upcoming, most locations I have stayed at will give me a call to inform me of the situation and even offer to assist moving me to a different location, same company of course. Unfortunately, that did not happen. ||Common areas: significant sized potholes exist in the parking lot, 7’x4’x6-8”, wall sconces taped back together instead of replaced, light bulb replacement, etc. ||What I will say for this location, is that it was safe, friendly staff, and clean on the outside and landscape.

The parking lot tells you all you need to know about this hotel. There are nearly as many potholes as there are parking spaces. That shows that they don’t take maintenance seriously and the inside shows it. I am a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member. This is the worst Marriott product hotel I've stayed in. We checked in on Sunday and were informed that the elevator was “temporarily” out of service. When we left the following Sunday, it was still out of service and there was no indication that they were even attempting to fix it. |Don’t be fooled by the reviews regarding breakfast. It is true that the weekend breakfast is good. On Saturday, there were 4 trays of fresh cut fruit and even an extra warmer with additional items to go along with the normal offerings - waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, breakfast sandwich, etc. However, during the week, the offerings are sparse. On Wednesday, breakfast was nearly non-existent. The only hot item was a pan of packaged breakfast sandwiches. There wasn’t even any butter for toast - despite me asking the “host”. The host described Wednesday's offerings as “simple.” Simple would have been an upgrade. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday were ok, but not what they should have been. By Friday, since we were getting closer to the weekend, the offerings were fine. |When checking in, the desk person indicated they were having a hard time finding and keeping housekeeping staff. No wonder since they don’t have an elevator to take laundry down to the washers. We stayed on the 2nd floor. I saw one housekeeper attempting to carry a very large bag of laundry with even more laundry stacked on top. She was scurrying down the hallway, trying to not drop anything. I am sure she had to carry it down the stairs too. |The lack of housekeeping staff showed in the rooms too. They need a thorough cleaning. I spilled water on the bathroom floor. The wash cloth that I used to wipe up the water has visible dirt on it. The carpet needs to be steam cleaned and the tile needs thorough scrubbing. The glasses and dishes in the room were incomplete and what was there was a hodgepodge of mismatched things.|The staff tries hard and is generally pleasant , but ownership and management are not giving them the tools they need. I wonder if they are having financial issues. |I’ll end where I started. I’ve stayed in too many Marriott hotels to count including many Residence Inns. This was the worst.

Booked this hotel for a quick overnight trip. The location of this hotel is in a nice neighborhood with lots of chain stores nearby. Checking in was easy, but the front desk person wasn’t particularly friendly. Overall this hotel needs some upgrading, as our tub glaze was peeling all over making it look dirty, and our room had a stale smell. Fridge looked like someone had kicked it all over as it had multiple dents. Breakfast was mediocre. Probably will choose another hotel if I am in the area.

Late night checked in and found, 1. No bar soap and empty shower gel. 2. Heavy water leak from shower throughout sliding door frame. 3. Not clean carpet 4. Floor surface bumped and carpet can trap while walking. 5. This is very bad….too much sagged mattress that makes me bad back pain. As a frequent traveler, this is worst of worst mattress.

We were visiting from Colorado for a wedding. The location is very convenient. The parking lot needs some work (major potholes), but what really made our stay was the wonderful hospitality we received from Tanya at the front desk and Steven, the breakfast chef. Due to the time zone difference, we made it to breakfast just after it had closed, but Steven took great care of us and made sure we had something to eat. Then the next morning he remembered our preferences and made sure they were on hand. We asked about local farm markets and whether Michigan cherries were in season yet (sadly, they weren't). On our checkout day, Tanya and Steven presented us with a bag of cherries! What a great example of the Marriot value of Surprise & Delight! All the Michiganders we met were so nice, but these two were the absolute best!

This hotel is very conveniently located, and the service was very good. But, the property is extremely tired and worn. The bed in our room was incredibly uncomfortable, and the same can be said for the couch in the living area. The couch cushions also had numerous stains and the closet in the bedroom clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time. The staff's service made the stay acceptable - but unless they update the rooms and rest of the building, I would never stay there again.

This residence Inn was wonderful! It’s a tiny bit dated in the hallways, but the rooms are very nice and very clean. We loved the layout of our corner room. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning staff to the kitchen staff. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at a hotel. The man working in the kitchen for breakfast was so friendly and worked so hard to keep everything stocked and looking nice and clean (and the food was excellent). We would absolutely stay here again!

They have good smoked meats. I'm a whiskey drinker, but their moonshine is very good. The mixed drinks are refreshing, and you can try a pic 3 taster of the moonshine. I like the bourbon, wheat, rye, and apple pie moonshine. The Cuban, for me, is a t

Nice variety of baked goods. Holiday cookies now, many standard items. Variety of doughnuts, also was great to have fresh plain doughnuts! Some prepackaged items are also good. Would go back and recommend if you want dessert.
