I really enjoyed staying at the Residence Inn, very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were very nice although the bathroom floor was pretty sticky and did not like housekeeping banging on the door at 9am asking if we wanted service as we just got there the night before, that was very frustrating. We will be back to stay again.
This Residence Inn is centrally located and close to many Duluth attractions and restaurants. The kitchenette was nicely appointed, although we didn't cook during our stay. The staff was very friendly, although there was no recognition of Marriott status at check-in. We enjoyed the pool and courtyard. The quality of breakfast was inconsistent.|| There were two crucial aspects for us:|1) The mattress . As others have said, the mattress was a bit worn; my husband didn't sleep well at all so I offered to swap sides with him on the last night. (His side was worse than mine.)|2) The number of pets. All were well behaved and quiet but for someone who is severely allergic, it was a potential problem. Most hotels limit animals to the lower floors, but here they were on all floors and in the breakfast room.||Were it not for these two issues, we would have booked the Residence Inn again. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
We splurged on a 1 bed room suite because it was only get away this year. It’s expensive, so the expectation is cleanliness, everything to be in working order and to have everything you need.||My husband found a pair of ladies underwear in a drawer when we arrived and promptly put them in the garbage. I guess Duluth has hard water or the dishwasher doesn’t use a rinse aid because all the “clean” dishes were covered in spots and the wine glasses had lipstick marks from previous use. We washed what we used BEFORE we a glass, spoon or whatever. So much for taking a break from housework.||All hotels are cutting back on their amenities, but it’s the first time we didn’t find any lotion in the room. Most hotel rooms are dry, so I use it. I wish I had known in advance, so I could have packed my own , instead of having to go out and buy some.||We also discovered the fireplace didn’t work on the morning we were checking out, which is why it was never reported. The mattress had a big dip in the middle of it, so it was a treat to come home and sleep on our even bed.||Little details are big things. We are seasoned travellers and previous stays in similar properties have been wonderful- which is why we booked this one.
A lovely hotel - updated, cozy beds, fun extras and great staff. They went above and beyond to help with a left bag. Very grateful!
VERY nice, modern rooms. Everywhere I went in the hotel was clean and well kept.
All staff were friendly.
Pool area was very nice. Hot tub was excellent. There is a shower on the wall to rinse off chlorine. We wished that there was a bathroom included in pool area though.
I've stayed at this hotel a number of times. That said, upkeep has been getting steadily worse. My last stay (with my wife) was horrendous. The room wasn't clean, there weren't any pots or pans (thankfully we weren't planning to cook) but the real issue was the bed. This is the first time in 30 years of vacation and regular business travel that I couldn't sleep in the bed. The mattress was so worn out that and sagged so badly that you would slowly roll toward the center. My wife and I couldn't sleep as we don't like sleeping smashed together. I finally went and tried to sleep on the couch letting her take the center of the bed. Neither of us got more than a couple hours of sleep which really put a damper on our plans for the next day. Used to be a good hotel, bhut it's obvious that Marriott has decided to cut funds for maintenance and upkeep which really angers me as a loyal Marriott member. I will not be back and feel like I was ripped off.
Positive: They had towels in the pool area for guests to dry off . Way to many hotels do not do that. Negative: Short staff meant no breakfast that we were looking forward to and one of the reasons we stayed there. Negative: ""
We really enjoyed our stay here as a family of 5. We all slept well, it was clean, nice pool area, good breakfast food during the buffet and friendly staff!
We had an incredible stay and loved that it was in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood - there were lots of shopping and breweries within close walking distance. The room itself was amazing, very spacious and stylish and we felt right at home.

Oh my gosh.....the Speakeasy Suite is a DREAM! The bathroom is beyond amazing and it is the nicest room I have ever stayed in. The mansion is beautiful and well cared for. There is no doubt we will be back again and again. Love this place - A+++
Hostel du nord is the place to be! Wonderfully welcoming employees. These guys smile the brightest and hug the warmest. Always know which direction to point you in for good food. Rooms are always clean. And workers are always in the mood for a great
I love this place. I've stayed here three times over the course of 11 years. Fantastic experience with the original owners and just as good of a report for the new ones. The charm, history, views, and overall comfort of this property is exactly what
My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. We're locals. This place blew us away. We were in one of their Junior Suite King Bed Bay View rooms. It's not a "fancy" hotel, but it was very clean and well maintained. It has so many little touches that show t
Wild State Cider has so many delicious options to choose from! Hands down one of my top favorite cidery. So delicious! I didn't try them but they also have a variety of THC infused beverages if that's more your thing!
