I’ve stayed at this hotel 2 times already and both have been satisfactory visits! The rooms are clean, free breakfast is decent and the location is good. Surrounded by numerous good restaurants! My only complaint is how bad the wifi is. My first visit it wasnt bad but this last visit the wifi was horrible and kept messing up!
Overall great hotel
The hotel being clean is the only reason I give this hotel anything above 1 star. ||First off, the lady at the front desk left us waiting for longer than we needed to as she was chatting with a customer that she apparently knew personally. This left us holding our heavy luggage for much longer than necessary. She also didn’t give us our Ambassador status gift bag OR hotel points, which makes this the only Marriott hotel out of the three we’ve stayed at this past 2 weeks that hasn’t. She wasn’t TOO rude though, so my husband and I brushed it off as maybe a one-off issue.||Next, we encountered the night staff clerk while getting a late night snack. This guy is RUDE; he speaks in mostly grunts, and when he does reply with words, it’s something extremely uninterested-sounding & rude, like he’d rather be dead than talk to you. We tried paying for our snacks with a Marriott gift card we received in an email by our Marriott Ambassador, but he claimed there was “no way to do it” and completely gave up on helping in any way, despite the fact that we had already used part of the gift card at our previous hotel (AC Frisco) so it’s obviously possible.||All in all, I don’t recommend this hotel. Go to the nearby Springhill Suites instead, they were much more friendly when we stayed there last week.
It was an ok hotel. My husband and I had a king suite, which was a nice and spacious room with a small kitchenette. We were initially happy with the room, but found as we settled in that it was not totally cleaned. The trash was full with the previous guests food and the shampoo/conditioner had not been filled, which made us wonder how thoroughly the room was cleaned. We stayed for four days, and our room was never cleaned despite us being out almost all day every day. Since the trash was full and no one came to clean the room, it started to smell. The internet was also terrible, and flagged by Google as unsafe (got a warning that our account numbers and passwords were at severe risk when connected). It was a roof over our heads for the stay though, and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. It's also pretty close to Garden of the Gods, which is a bonus. However there are so many hotels in the same area I'd likely stay at a different one next time I'm in town.
Wifi doesn't work, and there are no hard line options. Do not come here and try to work!!!
Breakfast was not enough to feed everyone, and they cut it off 20 minutes early despite all the people that kept coming. A couple of us waited for more food to be brought out and was told there was no more food.
They charge $10 a day for parking with no benefits. Why??
I've been here for days, and no housekeeping has come to the room. I have to get my own towels and empty the trash in the pails outside. There are also no soap dishes, and the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all in the same bottle. Can't tell which is which while in the shower.
The luggage carts are useless for large luggage, or if you have multiple bags. They also tip over when you try to push them. Why are they all triangle shaped??!!
There are no ice machines, so if you are only staying one night, bring your own ice.
One benefit is there is 24-hour coffee, and the night crew is awesome! The view is also nice.
I hate leaving bad reviews, but this is for folks like me who rely on the amenities and to serve as a reminder for me to avoid this place in the future.
I would give this hotel 0 stars if possible. We usually always stay at Marriott as they are a trusted hotel for us. ||||When we first got into our room we had noticed various health hazards on the walls. The bathroom had what looks to be blood smeared on the wall, and also what looks to have been boogers on the wall. I have attached photos of the findings. ||||When we notified the front desk they moved us to another room. Getting into our other room there was a giant bug crawling in the bed. We proceeded to call the front desk, an employee came in and said we get these bugs all the time and then proceed to squish the bug and leave it’s body on the floor. ||||Regardless of what kind of bug it is, I am not a fan of sleeping with them.
Great service from all employees. Breakfast was good, and there is some fruit to grab in the main lobby most of the time if you need a quick bite. Definitely a great location.
Gave it three stars because their wifi is insecure and uncompatible with the newest Windows and also mobile phones. My colleague had the same issues. I could connect a couple times maybe. I used my cellphone to hotspot to my company laptop.
Otherwise the place is great. Rooms were clean, had great kitchen. No complaints except for wifi which many people need for work. I was there for 9 nights. I would go again because eventually someone there should fix it.
This was a nice well-maintained hotel. The price was reasonable and we had lots of space. We were there for 4 nights and used it as a base to explore activities in Manitou Springs area - Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods. It was a convenient choice. Within half a mile there were several restaurants (Colorado Brewing, Chilis, Torchys Tacos).||The breakfast was “typical Residence Inn” & all we needed to start the day. They apparently charge for parking (don’t know why) but didn’t while we were there as they were resurfacing the lot). Staff was friendly and helpful.
