The one star reviews on here are not nice.. sure, it's not the most expensive place to see but guess what? It's fourteen bucks to get in to see various snakes from around the world. There's the venom show too. My opinion is that's it's worth the money for the interior snake building with the show.

Never go here. It's a horrible place to visit. They DO NOT take care of their animals. They laid down newspapers in their (what looked to be much too small) enclosures. There was no vegetation or anything for the snakes and lizards to enjoy. What amazed me is that they started transporting a giant snake while we were standing close by. That seems very dangerous to both customers and the snake. The alligators had a very small enclosure, and the fence keeping them in seemed very flimsy. The three birds they had were locked in tiny cages off to the side. This place should be shut down.

Steve Irwin would have a fit. I felt sorry for every animal here, with maybe the exception of the turtles. Cages were overgrown, dirty, and small. They did have some interesting snakes I'd not seen anywhere before. However, when we first got there, nobody was manning the desk or gift shop. Then when the guy did come out, we got his unsolicited political opinion along with our tickets. Then as we entered and were looking at the turtles, he came over and said if we wanted to see the snakes, we had better hurry before they put them all away because FISH & WILDLIFE were coming soon (what!?) The bigger of two American alligators looked sad and I just wanted to take him with me to the alligator enclosure at the Palm Beach Bass pro shops where the alligators have a beautiful large CLEAN enclosure and look very happy there. I had to of course leave the poor guy there, unfortunately. The parrots were in a very tiny cage outside. They whole thing isn't even worth the $14 entry. I thought it was kind of inexpensive and now I know why. How this place has a 4.3 rating is beyond me. Save your money, but pray for the animals.

Come closer to the time of the presentation, it doesn't take long to go through the exhibits. The place is awesome for sure and you don't want to miss that show and education!

Was extremely disappointing and disheartening to witness the state of some of these reptiles. Upon arrival there was a skinny, dehydrated and dead green tree Python, an underweight blood Python, a carpet python with severe mouth infection and missing flesh on his face along with multiple other snakes who were dehydrated with shed skin still stuck to them and retained shed over their eyes and most snakes without access to water they can soak in. Would give 0 stars if I could.

The good, bad, and the ugly. The good: Reptile World Serpentarium features multiple snakes both venomous and not from all over the world. They host a good venom show where they showcase the importance and process of extracting venom from snakes in order to help produce antivenin. The owner seems to be extremely passionate about what he does and deeply cares about conservation and uses his venom shows as a platform to help convey this. There was one employee/volunteer that I spoke with who is a chemist from Czech Republic, he was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly when I spoke with him. The bad: A lot of the animals are being improperly kept currently. Anyone who understands more than the basic steps of reptile husbandry can take one look and get a bad taste in their mouth from their visit. Featuring multiple animals that require UVB without providing it, not mitigating the high Florida humidity for their more arid species risking respiratory infections. Another thing is the owner while passionate doesn’t really keep the audience during his shows. The beginning of his show is speaking of conservative efforts and the politics surrounding it. While it’s important to encourage younger people to vote for their interest, most of the crowd is children under the age of 15 so they got lost pretty quickly. He went on a bit of a political tangent which ended up causing a few people to leave, and from past reviews this wasn’t a first. He has a good message just seems to go about it the wrong way. The ugly: When concerns were brought up regarding some of the animals care, we were immediately chastised without asking for background information or taking constructive criticism by one of the employees. Citing “he(the owner) has been doing this for 60 years I’m sure he knows a lot more than you do!” Which experience and age≠correct. Additionally he cited that they are not a big zoo that receives public funding, while understandable that is not an excuse to neglect the needs of the animals. If you cannot afford to house and care for the animals properly then look into outside funding, business loans, grants or simply do not take animals you can’t provide for. Instead of hearing us out the gentleman argued and questioned our intelligence while trying to create a discussion surrounding a bearded dragon that had a pretty severe case of MBD. And another that was on its way to developing it. It wasn’t until we were connected with the chemist who heard us out and seemed to understand and actually care about our concerns. Overall: The Serpentarium has something wonderful started, but just needs to make some changes and modernize their care practices to ensure they’re providing the best care possible for their animals. I would love to come back and change my review to a 5-star and recommend this to fellow reptile keepers. But as it currently stands, they will continue to lose business and miss out on a demographic that would be fellow keepers! They have a great message and great project going but they need a severe facelift in multiple areas if they want to be a 5-star facility. I sent an email in hopes to create a discussion and I really hope that they take advice from outside entities to make their own decisions for the betterment of the animals and the business. But only time will be able to tell.

Came here today for my daughter's birthday. We enjoyed seeing the variety of snakes that there were. We also liked seeing the extraction of milk. Price was definitely reasonable. We even went home with a Ball Python. My daughter is beyond happy now to have another snake. Snake is comfortable, calm and has already ate.

This is such a great, local staple. George and his team are kind, knowledgeable, and really take the time to educate and show guests the reptiles. They have an amazing collection of snakes and other creatures. Alligators, turtles, birds, reptiles, and more. The venom show is awesome to watch and a must see. So plan your visit in time with them.
