Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel - Featured Reviews (1021)
Stayed overnight with our 2 grandsons( 8 and 10). We were going to Medieval Times. The hotel is right around the corner. The room was clean and quiet. We opted to get the breakfast included. The food was fantastic! The boys finished everything on their plates. The wait staff was attentive and gracious. We would definitely stay there again.
This location is very convenient to all. Hotel has an exclusive club for time share owners platinum / elite. Service is awesome everywhere from front desk to the finch bar lounge to the ninth floor breakfast lounge.....Thank you @Marriott Keep up the excellent work and especially in rewarding time share owners cause we pay our dues to help out...
Renaissance was a part of our wedding weekend and it was an amazing experience. From the beginning process of planning our wedding block, after party, and day after brunch our sales manager Sophie was wonderful and attentive. When we arrived the staff was attentive made sure to get our guest gift bags from us to distribute and checked in on our presidential suite if we needed anything. We got ready in our suites as well as did our first look in the lobby as well as our Ukrainian parent blessing and the staff was very accommodating to our photo and video teams. Both the after party and brunch had great service and our guests raved about the hotel modern aesthetic. Highly recommend!
The hotel is very nice, the rooms are nice, and the staff is amazing! We had our wedding block here and the staff was always very helpful and attentive. Nonetheless, if you want the tldr, scroll to the last paragraph for a hotel that gives you more perks for a wedding block. The reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because that goes to the staff and how wonderful they were, the management there is not so great and very unfair. We had our wedding block there, but you get nothing in return for choosing that hotel as your wedding block. They do not provide a shuttle service, free breakfast every morning or at least a free breakfast the morning after your wedding, or even one free night for the newly wed couple. They required that at least 70% of the wedding block be booked every night so that made things stressful. We didn't want to chance having to pay for extra rooms on top of everything else we're paying for so we made the block small and then expanded as it got filled. However, not all of our guests told us they couldn't make the block and just booked direct with the hotel. So when they arrived, they didn't get a welcome bag and had no idea they were supposed to. We had signed with the hotel 9 months before the wedding and tried to cancel the contract just two weeks after signing due to some complications that came up when planning the wedding. They would not let us out of the contract unless we paid $5k+ which is outrageous! We were 9 months out and had signed only two weeks prior. We thought canceling the hotel would have been the least of our worries especially that far in advance. Anyone we spoke to was very shocked at how the hotel management team handled this. After complaining to friends and family, we were quickly told that the exchange was not normal. Good wedding block hotels will give you at a minimum free breakfast the morning after the wedding and flexible hotel room blocks where there's no penalty if the rooms don't book up. Whatever rooms that are not booked up are just released some weeks before the wedding, but people can still call in and say they're part of the wedding and be added to the block so they get a welcome bag. If you want a better option for a hotel wedding block, check out the Fairfield Hampton Inn and Suites. They have flexible room blocks, free breakfast every morning, free shuttles, will hand out your welcome bags for you, and a free night for the wedding couple. The hotel is also newly renovated.
All I can say is never judge a book by its cover. Just from the outside the hotel itself the place looks sophisticated. The lobby is beautiful. We did a room block for our wedding and also booked the presidential suite to use for same day preparation, however it was very disappointing. The presidential suite had a small living room area and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette didn’t have a microwave but it had a small sink, cabinets and small fridge. They provide you with few bottle of water and coffee. The living room is small so having about 11 girls getting ready for makeup and hairstyling - we were cramped up. The bedroom was closed doors with a bathroom. Inside your bedroom was a king size bed with a single lounge chair. The bathroom had an old looking bathtub and a toilet. It’s very spacious but I was expecting there will be a small jacuzzi since you’re paying 500+ per night for the room. The closet for the bedroom was also super disappointing. When you open the closet, the rack itself is about the height of my waist and I’m 5ft tall. Not even 6ft high so when we try to hang my wedding gown and my girls gowns there was no rack to hang it. We called the front desk and they said they have no rack to provide. Also I was upset that when my planner went to check the rooms out - they didn’t show it to her. So we never got to see it. Front desk was great thought and the staffs. We had no problem with the services. It was nice that they also provided some welcome champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for us after the wedding since we are staying but we expected more for the presidential suite because you’re paying so much for it. Overall it was not bad experience.
Stayed overnight while attending a wedding. Central location to activities in NJ/NYC. A little noisy due to its location near busy highways. Restaurant on premises. Check in and out was simple and quick.
The staff is excellent, rooms are clean, and the location is convenient. Some reviewers mention traffic noise from the freeway. I received a room on the 5th floor, facing West. While I could hear some traffic outside, in my opinion is wasn’t terrible. Nothing that running the HVAC fan could not effectively drown out. I suggest traveling with earplugs just in case. If you get access to the concierge floor (9), there is a good breakfast and evening snacks available. The staff there was excellent. I wanted to buy some detergent and use the coin operated machines on floor 2. Problem was, the staff could not find any more single use laundry detergent. Luckily, the manager was nearby, apologized about the delay and inconvenience, and offered to have the laundry done in-house. This went pretty well, except is was not finished when expected when I got back in after work. They got it done, although late in the evening.
Tiffany checked me in and sent me to a room that was 74 degrees on July 4th. I called and she told me to wait for engineering. I waited 20 minutes, no one came so I asked Tiffany to move my room. The answer was No, she said they had no rooms. So I waited 30 more minutes. After the guy changed the filter the room was now 76 and I charged down to get a room. Thankfully Tiffany was not there and a lovely lady named Ray gave me a new room and apologized. Service is like a holiday Inn. LaQuinta is a better deal. I have 187 Marriott stay and I’m a silver member for 27 years. This place sucks. Period.
