Everyone should experience this farm of old. If you missed Christmas ,bring the family out to the Winter Festival, and Ice Cutting and storing in an ice shed.Oxen pulling sleds across the field of snow, even the wind was wiping and your fingers too cold to take pictures ,children of all ages 1 to 93 didn't mind. Yes and the their Christmas celebration yesterday was my 1st one ,I will be there next year,God willing!!! And my Timmy friend too!!!
Just a very small museum, only about 2 rooms of items on display... But really had a charming a sense of what a country doctor must have gone through back then. In addition to the museum, the farm was lovely, and the kids really enjoyed seeing the animals, learning how a cow gets milked, helping to feed the calves/goats/sheep/rabbits, etc. Very friendly staff, and easy to find parking.
Visited in the winter so the doctors office was closed due to no heat. However, the main museum building is an hours worth of viewing. They have a kids room and upstairs is a wardrobe anyone can try on. Has a lot of details to read about the history. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can't wait to visit in the summer when the whole property is available. Great place to picnic and spend the day
Remick Farm provided a really beautiful, scenic stop in a search for local agricultural information. While we only walked the grounds, we were greeted and introduced to a number of the wonderfully cared for animals and the history of the farm. I would highly recommend this as a stop for parents/grandparents/caregivers with younger kids.
Entrance is free ! Just make a donation that is well deserved! The staff was great ! The lady that is the boss was very kind and the guy that is in the picture is such a great person! They also sell meat incredible prices .
Very nice! Many interesting pieces of historical value pertaining to medicine and the doctors and others in the Remick family in particular. It's a nice look into the past of the area. The last doctor in the family died in 1993. He was a very popular and beloved doctor to the community but had no heir to continue his work and take on his farm so the farm was passed onto the town. You can visit with the animals as well as check out the museum, as well! It's free to visit, and donations are welcome.
This farm stands still in time, it is absolutely worth stopping to visit it.
It was nice. My 9 yr old enjoyed the few animals that were there. Most of the place was closed when we went but, it has a nice trail that walks around the property so it was a nice walk any ways. There's a beautiful river across the street the we walked over to see. Hopefully we can go again when the historical building are open.
