Neat old hotel building, very cute. Downsides were the 21-22 stairs almost straight up in a very narrow hall making it difficult to get suitcases upstairs. When we booked there was no mention of the stairs only access. If you are a person with breathing issues or problems navigating stairs you should probably pass on this one. We also had only one towel each, one wash cloth each of which one was badly stained. There were two young ladies cleaning the rooms when we left. One was nice and cheerful (brunette) while the other had no response, only a look, after saying "Good Morning". If you are in the hospitality business you shouldn't have a sour attitude. If all that is ok for you then location is great.

I only stayed one night but I want to go back. This little gem was a great experience. If you’re used to checking in at a front desk, this isn’t it. You get codes to the door to the hotel and to your room when you book. You also get a number to call or text if you need anything and they are very on top of it. Everything in town closes at 9pm. But… I highly recommend the Lazy Beagle for dinner and Sweetwater taps for beer and entertainment. Yes, there are several trains running through town but the hotel does a good job of providing sound machines and ear plugs. Worth it even with the trains.

Wonderful small hotel in the downtown of a quaint friendly town. Old building (with steep entry stairs) but rooms are classy with kitchenette and nice bathroom. Friendly and accommodating for early check in. Old building flaws are modulated with careful touches. A train does go by at night and toots its horn but the authenticity of the town is part of its charm. Very clean and bed is extremely comfortable!

We didn't know what to anticipate, but when we unlocked the door to our room, it was stunning. It felt like we had been taken back in time, yet with all the modern conveniences. Some people might gripe about the trains, but they didn't bother us. We strolled easily to different shops. Instead of a front desk, we were given codes and had no problems. The entrance is not ADA-compliant, because of the building's age. The pictures don't capture the true beauty of this place. We look forward to returning when they decorate for Christmas.

Quirky and fun location to stay in small downtown area. Entry door off the sidewalk takes you up a steep flight of stairs onto a landing with room doors and a long hallway with access to other rooms. We stayed in the McCrary Suite, one of the rooms overlooking the street. Very clean and nicely appointed, it was "rough"- i.e. meant to show its age and give you a sense of the underlying architecture of the building, with high ceilings and some of the signage from the original McCrary's Pharmacy on one wall. Bathroom had a huge shower (no tub), main area had King bed and big TV. Keurig coffee maker in room with lots of extra coffee/creamer/stirrers in landing foyer. Heather made sure to let us know about the trains which pass through the middle of town- the tracks are roughly 250 ft away from the room. They do sound loud and use the horn as they come to the crossings throughout the night. Her "warning" made this experience interesting, not annoying. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant 50 feet away from the Inn and then a drink at the Pub two doors down from the restaurant- both of which we'd highly recommend. Owner Heather had good communication and was quick to respond to questions. Overall it was a pleasurable experience- we'd call this a "find" and would definitely return. Recommended to All !!!

During my recent business trip to Sweetwater, I had the delightful opportunity to stay at Remedies Loft, an intriguing accommodation situated above the bustling shops of downtown. This unique space, which occupies a lofted area inside a historic old pharmacy, blends the independence of an AirBnB with the rustic charm of a heritage building. The check-in process at Remedies Loft is refreshingly modern and convenient, perfectly suited for the traveler who values autonomy. Prior to my arrival, I received all the necessary codes for both the building and my room, enabling a seamless self-check-in experience. This system is particularly advantageous for those who appreciate privacy and ease during their travels. Remedies Loft does not offer traditional hotel amenities such as a front desk or turndown service, but it compensates with its distinctive character and cozy ambiance. The space, while rustic due to its age and the nature of the building, has been thoughtfully maintained. It’s evident that a lot of care has been put into preserving the charm of the old pharmacy while ensuring the space is comfortable for guests. The design of the hotel is certainly quirky, featuring some unconventional design choices that reflect its unique architectural history. These elements might not appeal to everyone, but they contribute to an unforgettable stay and add to the eclectic charm. The room was clean and inviting, with a comfortable bed that provided a peaceful night’s sleep. The emphasis on cleanliness and comfort is apparent, making for a pleasant and relaxing stay. A note of caution, Sweetwater has a bustling freight railway line one block across the streets. While I am accustomed to this noise I could see how some visitors could find it disturbing to rest, but the hotel provides earplugs and sound machines to help combat the disruption. Overall, Remedies Loft offered a more than decent experience. While lacking the full services of a traditional hotel, its prime location, full of character, and self-sufficient setup make it an attractive option for those looking for a more personalized and intimate experience in Sweetwater. The proximity to local shops and dining options right below the loft greatly enriched my visit, allowing me to easily enjoy the local culture and conveniences during my business trip.

Such a charming, delightful experience. The building has been a steady presence in Sweetwater for well over a century, and it’s really a great reuse of the upper floor. My room, the Bogart Suite, was cozy and comfortable. ||Having grown up in Sweetwater, I have happy memories of at least two of the pharmacies from which the Inn took its inspiration (think old-fashioned soda fountains in the back) Whenever I visit again, I’ll definitely stay here.

Our guide Eli was very fun and informative! I felt so bad though that he had to do this multiple times a day. The trek back is not easy lol. You enter and exit through a giant yellow tube! The lake is much bigger than I expected, and startlingly deep
