This place used to be so much better then it is now. I've stayed here many times and the last few months it's just gone down hill. The rooms are never completely clean. There seems to be alot of damage in the rooms that they never had before. They were very quick about fixing things in the past but it seems it gets left damage for a long time now. The garbage can we had in our room was nothing but an old bucket that once held something else that they've emptied, cleaned and put a trash bag into. This seems a bit low class for a hotel. The light switches coming into the room never work I don't even know what they are supposed to control since you've got to turn on each light by hand with the little twisty thing under the light. And I've never stayed in a room where all of the lights work. I've always got to try turning on 2 or 3 lights before finding one to come on due to it being completely broke or the light bulbs being burned out. Because of this the rooms are always so dim which is something I personally hate. Basically your lucky if you can get one light in the room to turn on, one light by the sink and one light in the bathroom. If you can't get atleast one light in each of these spots to light up your stuck in the dark and have to try to use light from the other areas to see what your doing. For example I couldn't get any light to come on in the bathroom so I had to leave the door open to allow a little bit of light from the lamp closest to the door to make its way into the bathroom. This made it barely visible in the bathroom and it was still dark once your behind the shower curtain. The shower heads are always loose so water sprays every which way from behind the shower head. Up to the ceiling along the walls. Out of the shower. I tightened it down myself but not before the floor and my clothes were all wet from the water spraying. And remember I had to do all this in close to darkness cause of the light issue. I've went to the front desk to ask for new light bulbs. And told them I don't mind changing them out myself if they needed to be in the lobby at all times but they weren't able to even leave the front desk to get me new light bulbs for me and told me I'd have to wait till morning and they would let housekeeping know. Well I guess they forgot cause housekeeping didn't bring any lights. I never was able to get any light bulbs during my whole three day stay. I know a few years ago it was never like this. The guy who runs the place was on top of everything and this was the nicest old hotel in the area. It seems like all I ever see him doing now is standing in the office watching the people who walk on to the property and then going out and yelling at anyone he doesn't want there. Which is mind blowing too since the people I've seen him yelling at don't seem to be a problem but he doesn't do anything about the thugs who come there fighting with someone or pounding on doors or the ones who are obviously selling drugs which makes me wonder what he is up to himself..

This hotel was simple. Very simple, but I will say this, the staff was extremely helpful. At one point I left the hotel to go to the store and accidentally left my door open and a staff member came and closed the door for me while I was gone to prevent theft. Off first appearances the hotel may not seem like 5 stars but once you're there you're taken care of. You'll get a true Charleston experience here.

Roaches on top of roaches, they were dancing on the ceiling, in the bedroom and bathroom, if you have food they will challenge you to see who can get to it first and fast!!!.....I thought that there was a (-1) star roach convention!!!.....Desperate need of pest control.....Roach Busters !!!

It's a hole in the wall spot... Secondly we came to visit a family member there and you gonna get into some things just by smoking outside the room, being that it's none smoking. I had no problem with that. My issue is the guy at the desk obviously has a poor choice in character. At the end of the day this should not be anyone choice of room...it is a infestation of crime.

The card and the front desk clearly says no pets the whole time I stayed there I couldn't breathe because the neighbor had cats and a dog that was peeing all in the room obviously. When we complain to the owner he just kept making excuses didn't offer us a partial refund or anyting. In our room there was cockroaches and sockets were not in place so my two year old could have gotten shocked if I wouldn't have been watching him every second it was the worst beach stay I have ever had! I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and truth be told DHEC or someone should shut them down

Checked in to the room less than 2 minutes ago. The way this bathroom looks is how the whole hotel room looks. Like garbage. The very distasteful patch on the wall is a HUGE HOLE that you can bend with just a pinky. It’s 90 degrees in the room at least. Someone’s sock is on the ground next to the bed. Cigarette burns on the phone and tables. Shame shame

If you're on a very low budget it's the right place to stay but it's disgusting they don't even have fitted sheets on the beds and the mattresses are yellow they use top sheets with holes in them. If you have to have a roof over your head and you don't have much money it's not too bad.

The room was cleaned and the lady at the front desk was very nice. And the next morning I had to leave a little late and they were very understanding. I will definitely be back
