Regal Plaza Beach Resort - Resort hotel in Wildwood Crest - 9501 Atlantic Ave, USA

Great location. Very clean. However, when they say check in is after 4 they mean AFTER 4! The old lady at the desk had an attitude when I inquired why the room still wasn’t ready. I also didn’t like a 10 AM checkout. The only other issue we had was that the room is very warm. It’s central air and not cold at all. I would recommend bringing a fan. With all this being said I would stay there again just for the location and cleanliness and it is updated.

Place is right on the beach which was nice. Pool was nice but could have been warmer given the time of year. Staff was very friendly and cleaning crew did a good job. Dislikes includes: room beds were uncomfortable. One room had an odor when the air was started although it dissipated by day 3. Expected more amenities for being a resort. Would have been nicer for the resort to provide some other attractions or amenities since they say they are a resort in name. For example, some facilities will provide beach gear, bike rentals or courtesy, breakfast or restaurant on site,etc. Overall was fine for the trip but do not think will return to this in future.

This is a beautiful beachfront hotel. Rooms are cosy and pool is nice. Most importantly I was impressed with a front desk staff and their willingness to help and think outside the box. My phone slipped out of my bag and got stuck on the bottom of the staircase to which there was no door access. The front desk man was very patient and creative about fishing it out so very late at night. Of course, the restaurant “Jamaica me hungry” on the first floor made it for even better comfier stay! Love diamond beach! Love Regal Beach Plaza! Highly recommend!

The room was very nicely renovated and looked only about 1 year old. The bathroom, kitchen, rugs and furniture looked pretty much brand new. The common areas are a little run down but the pool, BBQ grills and "picnic area" was very nice. The check in was friendly and pleasant. The beach was beautiful. The Jamaican Me Hungry restaurant was very convenient and the food and service were very good. You should give this place a try!!!

Booked through Hotels.com received several messages in all caps about bringing $20 in cash as a deposit in case I lose thier keys. Also informing me if I'm not there by 6pm and don't call they will give my room to someone else despite having paid in full... What the?!? Stayed an oceanfront room with private balcony. Room was not ready at check-in, waited about 15 minutes. Not bad but after the long drive and message about arriving on time or losing my reservation - super annoying. Paid my $20 cash deposit for the keys...they also took my credit card on file just in case...so overkill. Room felt damp always, floor always felt gritty but was just cleaned. Rust on bathroom fixtures, walls look very aged, no coffee maker, no microwave but there's a mini fridge. Super small room, small bathroom, small balcony. One tiny elevator. Rude employee reminded us more then once to turn off the hose outside when we were done like we can't read the giant sign or understand the first time they said it. Drunk crowd hanging out on all the balconies and pool. Dog barking constantly. Ends up air conditioner was leaking into the wall of the room, floor would get wet. Hence the constant damp feeling. Woman at desk apologized but was not surprised said something like they have been trying to fix it.... Another employee thought we were in another room - also having the same problems... Clearly a common issue at the hotel. Was not alerted of the problem at check in. Was cheaper then other hotels in the area but far from inexpensive. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

The good and the bad. Good: on the beach, less expensive than most, has a pool and a great restaurant. Bad: There is one Lady at the front desk that just does not care about the guests and is quick with her nasty comments. The plank flooring in the room always had grit on it. The door to our room was bent so bad the deadbolt could not work. The drawers in the dresser kept getting stuck. The shower would not turn off one night. I’ve stayed several times and I see this motel getting more and more “modest”. I recommend spending a few more dollars and going elsewhere.

Unfortunately it took us a very long time to be able to enjoy our experience. About an hour wait time after check in and they were still “cleaning”. I would assume the given check-in time is for you them to have already had the room somewhat ready by the time they originally gave you. There was no approximate time given whatsoever. Just the run-around “it’ll be ready” and “they’re working on it”. The front desk barely even made eye contact. Not a very good experience to feel like an inconvenience and be brushed-off when you’re just trying to get ready in your room after a long drive. I’m shocked and feel marginalized based off the number of good reviews; maybe the customer-service is selective or we just happened to come in on an off day. I’ve worked in guest-services for a hotel myself and have tried to be as courteous and polite as possible, but did not receive the same in return. The whole experience of checking in just made me very anxious although I feel I had a very good reason to wonder how long it would take to come into my room- for that I would prefer to be given a later check-in time so that we’re prepared. Hospitality is not it for this one; Good location though.

Reasonably priced with friendly staff. Room was decent but had a weird odor. The wifi connection in this place was horrid could not get a decent connection on my phone to save my life and had to use 4G the whole time even had no service in the laundry room. The vouchers for the diner downstairs were good and nice. Overall a decent place but I'll probably be renting a shore house from now on.
