Great condo/building with room for 6! It's a very small but workable kitchen with a small bar and a medium sized table and 4 chairs. Not a lot of cooking utensils and pots, so if you have favorites, bring them! Beds were comfortable and the staff is very responsive to other issues.
Because the units are close to each other, you drive up to your unit and unload, and then park down at the parking lot. It's not that far to walk.
Note that the units require a full flight of stairs, but if you don't have climbing issues, it's not that big a deal. The washer/dryers are downstairs in the enclosed bottom area which you can also use to store your bikes or fishing equipment.
I've been told that there are sunset views from the marina in the summer. In October, we had to drive to see the true sunset, but the 7 mile bridge park is not that far away. We still had spectacular sun-setting vistas while we were there.
Some units are closer to the water than others but all have access to fishing off the dock and docking their boats. Boat ramp has size limits but larger boats can be put in at a public boat ramp and then motored over to dock. We used the bikes they have on-site (cruisers!) and we enjoyed biking around the resort. Great tennis court (needs lights for night-time use but the kids made it work with a small flashlight in the west-most court) and beautiful salt-water pool!
Marina has 2 fish-cleaning tables with water spray hose. Say hello to the huge manatee and the nurse sharks who frequent the marina, too!
The Reef at Marathon is an outstanding timeshare with great amenities and location. We can bring our boat and keep it right there on site. The little "mushrooms" are cute but adequate for up to 6 people and you don't have anyone staying above you, or below you, or beside you! The grounds are extremely well-kept.||Communication with the front desk leaves a lot to be desired. No one answers the phone for long periods of time. We had an unfortunate experience with someone who thought that 2022 was a leap year and hung up on us when we disagreed.
I loved the water access for the kayaking and sunset views. Could hear some road noise but otherwise a quiet community. A little dated accommodation but would definitely stay again
Beautiful location on the Gulf side, plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. Key West only down the road, which is always a fun place to travel to. Grounds and unit super clean and folks very friendly. Highly recommend staying here, even better if you have a boat and fish.
Love this place! Can’t wait to go back! Clean nice and private. Best kept secret yet
The units have a very distinct shape and size - much better than we expected. The area is good and if you have a boat is ideal. The road noise at night can be a bit disturbing and will depend which unit you are in. check-in finishes at 6 pm on Saturday They are quite quick coming to you but it’s just an extra hassle. ||There is a lock box but we never received the code and our kids were not in there - Some RCI places are not recognising us and have to go and look for a booking
We needed more than just one-bedroom, and these standalone condos were just perfect. Clean, spacious, well-maintained, big bedrooms, big living room, nice kitchen--each unit has its own laundry room! Oh, and the check-in process was great--friendly, helpful, straightforward, everything we could've asked for. ||||Our plan was to use the condo as a central place to go visiting from. Marathon is central to so much of the upper keys, and having a large, well-maintained condo was about a HUNDRED times better than a hotel room.||||There were a couple of surprises (in a good way). ||||First, each condo is in its own separate little building. While you do share a staircase with one other condo, you don't share any walls.||||Sweet.||||Also, what a completely nice little neighborhood. There's a quiet tree-shaded walkway. The neighbors all seemed friendly. And the pace was conspicuously relaxed. Wow. Sit down. Take your shoes off. Set a spell. The sunset should be really nice tonight.||||We loved it. The location was great, and having our own separate laundry, right there, meant that we didn't have to pack as many suitcases. A hotel? Even a really great hotel? Would'n'a worked at all.
The grounds nicely keep up! Pool new and clubhouse replaced from the hurricane. Units very old need updating badly. Nice view. Cleaning people do a great job with what they have to work with. We have stayed here 3 times 15 years ago. Nice and quite. Would like to see some staff paying attention to the pool. Kids should be with adults supervision at the pool.

Every visit to Marathon, the first thing we pack is our bikes for Old 7. Always a relaxing 4 mile bike ride whether at sunrise or sunset in the middle of the Gulf/Atlantic. A must do when in Marathon.
