Went on this trail while visiting the area and loved it ! Part of it was flat and suitable for those with ambulation difficulties . There are different areas to explore including some wooded paths along a stream. Great area for birding; we saw Black Bellied whistling duck which was a rare treat !
Nice calm quiet place to go for a walk or a stroll. Please cone with bike and scooters as well. There are couple of stops where you can enjoy stream flowing across the wayside. My only suggestion would be putting a couple of light lamps.
Easy all weather paved trail for walking, biking at Owings Mills. Trees provides good shade esp during summer. A nice boardwalk near red run blvd entrance. Additional 10 car parking is available at the dolfield blvd side near new town. Some of the fences needs to be replaced though, make sure you pay attention esp while biking. Parts of the trail has access to the flowing creek, and if you’re lucky catch a glimpse of a beaver. Benches provided in various parts of the trail.
Parking is at a premium at this trail. There are only about 11 spaces (15 total if you include the dirt area on the right) and they do fill up - especially on a gorgeous day. We always enjoy our walks here. The paths are paved and really wide. Love the off paths that take you to informational signs about the nature that is around you.
Nice and quite place for walk with family or friends. You will feel little secluded during times but it's a good place.
Have seen some dears and raccoon, big ones, they look directly into your eyes. They are no dustbins at the location so carry your litter with you back.
It has a very little parking place like 10 spots including handicap spots. So if they are no spots you cannot park your car.
I was looking for a nearby trail to ride my bike and I didn’t realize that there was a hidden gem right here in Owings Mills!
This trail very quite and has beautiful scenic views. I’m sure it looks way more beautiful in the Spring. It’s also very good for a brisk walk with your dog or just an evening / morning stroll.
I didn’t get to go into every turn or explore as much as I wanted but I’ll definitely ride my bike here more often. Very very good substitute to the more expansive trails in Virginia.
Nice hiking trails good for all skill levels. Kid friendly, leashed dogs welcome, restrooms at the information center. A bit rocky, hiking boots with ankle support suggested. Can't wait to hike there again.
This is a shorter trail running alongside the river with a few offshoots and some info signs. I enjoyed reading about the black walnut grove and the large oak tree that’s no longer living. There’s a large limb blocking the trail but the Walnut Grove Trail Loop offshoot provides a way around it.
