Booked my stay 1 month in advance, confirmed reservation, and trip all good to go. Arrived in the USA the day of stay, shopped, dined, and showed up to check in.... We were met by the National Guard who had been using this location to house migrants. Called Red roof to enquire about our reservation but all they could say was that the operator had not informed them of the present conditions at this site and that they would be more that happy provide accommodations at another location for 3 times our previous confirmed reservation. Red roof at no time accepted any responsibilities to rectify this error on their part and went even further to attempt to charge our credit card for the stay that never happened. This even has left me feeling scammed and showing the corporate greed in this chain. I've been a club member for over 8 years, but no more will I stay at any of their facilities nationwide. Even after calling them to inform them of the current site conditions, they still charged my credit card for a stay that never happened....... I shocked that they had the balls to attempt this. Stay clear of this chain. No apologies to date, and my credit card company has canceled our card and reversed the charges. Drove 4 hours back home after a ruined getaway.

Hopefully, this place remains closed. This place was beautiful and clean in 2015. However, the ownership must have changed because in 2021, the hotel room was filthy. I woke up and my arms were covered with red marks. I was bit by bed bugs. The final straw is when I was half naked, a strange Indian/Middle Eastern man opened our door with a set of keys. Thankfully, my husband ran to the door to stop him. He said that he was reminding us that the check-out was approaching. Very inappropriate. I never experienced a hotel staff member opening a door while I'm half naked before the check-out time. He probably thought that I was alone. PLEASE KEEP THIS PLACE CLOSED!

Let me start by saying that my stay at Red Roof MINUS+ University at Buffalo - Amherst was like diving into the hair-raising depths of a horror movie. I remember my stay from two years ago—I mean, who doesn't love a good scare? Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a mysterious aroma that I can only describe as a blend of old socks and regret. I immediately noticed that the tub was clogged, and I called the staff for assistance. Little did I know, they were probably too busy hosting a "How Long Can We Ignore Room Issues" competition in the back. My dear aunt, bless her heart, took matters into her own hands. Armed with a glove and a brave spirit, she embarked on a plumbing expedition. Lo and behold, after a few minutes of battle, she triumphantly emerged from the bathroom, proudly holding a hairball the size of a Chihuahua. Yes, you read that right—a Chihuahua! I didn't know whether to be impressed or horrified. It's heartwarming to see a hotel that encourages guests to bond over shared challenges, but I draw the line at forming a hairball removal task force with my family. The staff's absence during this crisis made me wonder if they were on an extended coffee break or perhaps attending a seminar on "Effective Ignoring Techniques 101." On the bright side, the room was as budget-friendly as ever, reminding me that some things never change. It was conveniently close to Niagara Falls, which I guess makes up for the fact that my shower experience felt like a scene from a low-budget horror flick. If you enjoy DIY plumbing adventures and discovering hidden pet-sized hairballs, Red Roof MINUS+ University at Buffalo - Amherst is the perfect destination for you. Just don't expect the staff to join your cleanup crew—they're probably too busy perfecting their disappearing act. You get what you pay for, and in this case, I paid for an unforgettable hair-raising experience. Bravo, Red Roof MINUS+, bravo.

This is the worst motel I have ever been. I know you get what you pay for but all I ask was for a clean room. 1. The room was not clean 2. There was no towels/toiletries when we arrived 3. The room had flies. 4. The vending machine had no drinks in it almost empty! On top of this we had terrible experience with one of the other guests. Couple of Mexican guys who were drunk annoyed us by requesting to drive our cars. We booked for two stays but we had to check early next morning because of this. There was no way we were going to stay in this beat down establishment. When we were on our way out we saw an young Indian guy doing ‘housekeeping’ with just couple of cleaning supplies, very untrained, probably a student in one of the universities here. I guess this is run by some unprofessionals, cheapskates or someone bought this place for money laundering. There is no way any owner could be this ignorant of their business.

We booked this place because of its vicinity to the University to be close to our child moving in for the weekend. We were greatly disappointed in the accommodations and service. Upon checkin, (long wait because people in front of us were asking to switch rooms due to problems), and we discovered the room we booked isn't available. We booked a room with 2 beds for the 3 of us. They offered to upgrade us to a King premium. How does that help us??? I explained we had our son with us and need 2 beds. They then made us wait and then asked if we could wait longer. It was already late and I gave in and took the King room. The room was full of spiders on the ceiling. The smell in the room was not pleasant. It almost smelled like cat urine (this is a pet friendly hotel). The air was musty as well. I believe the AC unit probably needed cleaning out. Floors were not clean. Toiletries consisted of bar soaps and tiny bottle of shampoo/conditioner combo. This was not a pleasant experience and definitely a low budget hotel. It was convenient to where we needed to be but we were not comfortable here. Do not recommend coming back.

Steer clear. We chose this place because of its proximity to the university. Upon arriving with four people we were told that our room only had two pillows because they were waiting on laundry and we should expect the extra pillows in a day! What!? When we entered the room, which looks nothing like the pictures online, the carpet was dirty and the whole room smelled musty. While settling down I checked the mattress seams and found LIVE BED BUGS!!! We went back to the front desk, who very nicely told us they would give us a new room. The room was upstairs from the previous room. The room smelled very strongly of men’s cologne, to the point we thought someone was inside (there wasn’t anyone) but better than the musty smell in the previous room. A quick inspection didn’t reveal any live bugs(that I could see). But the room was filthy. There was garbage being the beds, the bathroom was rusty, the vent was hanging off the wall, the walls had stains on them, the chair had questionable goo on it. The toilet kept making noise and would barely flush. There were no towels except for a hand towel. We were not expecting anything fancy but this was the worst. Unfortunately, everything else around there was booked so we decided to stay. About an hour later and a Google search on bed bug signs, we stripped the sheets off the beds and it was disgusting!!!! There were blood drops on them (from bed bugs) the mattresses had dirt and pet hair underneath them. One mattress was full of cigarette burns and a large blood/body fluid stain I don’t know if someone had died there or what! We could not stay there and decided to leave and had to find a place much further than intended. The whole experience completely skeeved me out to hotels in general and definitely Red Roof Inns!!!! Never again!!! STAY AWAY from this place!

Awful. Room not cleaned upon check in. No soap, no toilet paper, no towels. Congealed orange goo in fridge. Front desk was condescending and rude and unhelpful. Charged my card for incidentals then refused refund and refused to give me a receipt. Parking lot was filled with construction hazards. Toilet not cleaned. Housekeeping cart isa stolen shopping cart from target. When I tried to complain they lied to the company I booked through. Not safe and unsanitary.

A lack of attention to detal is the title. From the parking, where you can see they removed the handicapped parking from in front of the handicapped room. Now it is on the other end of the building.|Cleanliness - from the hair tie left by a previous occupant alongside the bed, to the food on the desk that I had to clean off so I had a smooth writing surface. The room needed a good scrubbing. To get access to the electrical I had to pull out the dresser from the wall. The dander that kicked up was horrendous. I doubt that had been cleaned in months.|When I checked into the room with my wife the room was lacking in basic amenities like a coffee cup for the coffee maker. Reasonable toilet paper. More then 2 towels. Two towel is not enough for two people.||The wifi worked in the front building so that was a nice change for a Red Roof.

WOW! My first time staying here today. I stayed at all brand name hotels around UB for the last two years, and this is the best (most spacious, cleanist, functional, modern, etc.) hotel by far. I am kicking myself for not staying here for the last

Nice clean hotel just a skip and hop from U of Buffalo's north campus. The hotel treats you to a large cookie on arrival. I had a medium sized fridge and a microwave in my King bedroom. Hotel is about 15mins from the airport and airport. Upon arrival
