Red Roof Inn Toledo - Maumee - Hotel in Maumee - 1570 S Reynolds Rd, USA

Our family of five and our dog checked in the evening of Saturday, 6/22. After a long week of camping in the hot weather, limited access to showers and a clean bed, we were happy to stay in a hotel for the night. When we travel with our dog, we are aware our choices are limited, and my wife and I are easy going enough to excuse a mess here or a sketchy reception there. But dear god, nothing could have prepared us for the fresh hell that awaited us. Our first room was not clean. Stains on, in, and around the microwave. The sheets and bed covers were mismatched and stained. My wife took a shower shortly after arriving and stepped out to a find a pool of water on the floor; the seal around the bathtub was old and cracked. The entire room smelled of menthol cigarettes. The second room was not much better. It smelled weird and the floors were slick and greasy. But the real problem was that the AC was broke in these two rooms, which prompted us to move twice before we found a room with one that worked. Not only did the AC in these two rooms not work, but they seemed to be making the rooms hotter. Imagine sitting in a sauna while someone burns a tire on a radiator. Thankfully reception found us a room with a working AC. We stayed in a room that smelled like an open grave and had little black sink flies all over the bathroom, but hey at least the AC worked. Worst stay of my life. The people who run this hotel knew full well they had multiple rooms that are unkempt, filthy and with broken AC. They don't care about your safety, well being, or your comfort. They care just enough to make it look like a hotel so they can fleece poor folks like you and me who are unfortunate enough to stay here. Stay far away from this place.

Positive: No extra costs for children under 18, pets permitted. Really appreciated pet waste bags and trash in pet area. Location was very close to everything we needed. It was far cheaper than surroundings hotels. Microwave and small fridge. Negative: Front desk lady wasn't particularly pleasant, the pillows were awful, smokers were outside but next to the building so you had to walk through smoke, sketchy behavior in the halls

There was blood on my pillow, holes in the walls, there were knife marks in a desk, hair in the bathroom. I got a refund and didn't stay here all night. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The front desk, however, was very nice and helpful.

This is the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The hotel desk was not friendly. There were people in the parking lot on cell phones, walking sentry. People played rap music till two in the morning from the car in the parking lot outside our room. The next morning we were told from the people upstairs there was a crack lab that got busted and they had to leave the room because of the fumes. We were scheduled for tonight stayed one night only bright side is we got, a refund I would never stay there again. I hope this review stop somebody from making the same mistake I did.

If you don't go through the church parking lot ( which you probably won't your first time there) the road is f'd up so what your car cause there's a lot....a lot of potholes and a lot are significant enough to damage your car.... whoever's supposed to take care of that should be ashamed of themselves smh. Then y'all have a whole breakfast room and don't serve breakfast...huh? Was told it was because of COVID....huh? The years ago COVID? I travel for work year around and every other hotel that has a breakfast room they serve breakfast so.....

What a dump! Not one of the nicer Red roof inns. There were sketchy people loitering everywhere who obviously lived there and the rooms and hallways were filthy and smelly. Outdated, old and beat up walls, doors, floors and furniture. Would not recommend walking barefoot in the room or bathroom. The only thing that was clean were the sheets thankfully. People making noise at all hours of the night and early morning. People were sleeping in their cars in the parking lot. Cigarette butts everywhere all over the ground. We were worried about someone possibly breaking into our vehicle. Do not recommend!

Checked in just fine. Went to my room, everything ok. Went to put my refrigerator items in it. The freezer part had ice all over it, so refrigerator would not shut. So I call down to the front office. They said we could get a different room. No problem. Room is clean, free wifi and nice size tv. All is good

We checked in late afternoon on 04/09/24 and we were given the last available deluxe double bed non smoking they had (room 208). The receptinist (young lady) was really nice to talk to and was really helpful with the check in process. Upon entering the room, we smelled a scent of cigarette smoke. As we checked out the room, the floor was full of hair and debris. The microwave, fridge and tables had stains and were not cleaned. The beds had stained bed sheets and spots that looks like mold on them. Too bad I cannot post pictures otherwise you will see it for yourself what we have encountered in our room. We were really tired from a long day of fishing the mighty Maumee river and we just wanted to rest so we didn't feel like going up to the front lobby to complain when they told us they have given us the last room of the day. We slept on top of the blankets for the night and checked out early in the morning. Clininess gets a 0 (zero) I stayed here many times before, once/twice a year for the walleye run but this time it was really BAD. I think I'm going to look for another place to stay next time as this place is going downhill. Sometime, cheap price is not worth the experience or a headache.
