Red Roof Inn Sandusky - Milan - Featured Reviews (429)
Nice breakfast. Eggs and sausage and the eggs were not dry when we showed up at the very end of service. Breakfast ended at 10 and checkout was noontime--very helpful to us late risers! ;) The rooms could have a couple of pictures added for decor but everything was up to date and very CLEAN, in contrast to our last place, which featured a spongy carpet that made me want to wash my bare feet every time I walked from the bed to the bathroom. Location was convenient, just off I 80.
For what it is, the hotel is not bad. The room was very clean. The outside of the windows could use a cleaning. I appreciated the vinyl flooring. The beds being full sized was definitely a downer. And they were not comfy. The morning breakfast was adequate. The staff was always very friendly. We were there for a softball tournament and the hotel was a good 20-25 minutes from the fields. Which, imo, is too far away for how jacked up the nightly room price was (stay and play).
Person working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was so nice, had a waffle machine, eggs, sausage and other items. We were very happy with our stay.
Spent the day at cedar point. Booked this room while still at the park. Was quick and easy. The staff were fantastic. The room was spacious and clean. The bar of soap smelled wonderful. The beds were so so. The breakfast was warm and filling. I definitely recommend it.
Absolutely wonderful! The eggs were buttery and delicious, the sausage was delicious and their waffles superb. The front desk was extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfy. We slept like rocks every night! I highly suggest this location if you plan on going to nearby resorts like Cedar Point or Kalahari, or just need a pillow to lay your head on. We got the King-size Suite and we are very happy we did, it was close to the main entrance too! 10/10, we plan on coming back when we go to Ohio again.
We enjoyed our recent stay here. The location was near the tourist sites we were visiting. The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning. Lastly, the price was very affordable. We would highly recommend this Red Roof Inn.
I tried calling to check in on July 4th multiple times with no answer, we arrive shortly after midnight (July 5th) to overhear they are giving our room away to someone else. We walk into our room and immediately smell a bunch of perfume to try and hide the horrible smell of the room. There were hairs left on the bathroom wall and all of the shampoo and conditioner were pushed to the corner. It was clear they did not clean the bathroom. There was gunk and mold on the bathroom drain and I had to use my inhaler multiple times it smelt so bad. There was even a bug on my son’s diaper that was sitting out on the counter. We go down to the front to ask to switch rooms, while waiting we are blatantly ignored while the employees are in the back room loudly talking about weed etc. the front desk lady tells me there is nothing she can do and she cannot even refund us because we booked through Expedia but her GM will be there in the morning(the gm was not there in the morning) we asked if they could just come clean the bathroom and we were denied. We call Kelly, the GM the following afternoon and she is so rude and unhelpful and tells me I should have canceled and gotten my refund (even though we tried and the front desk lady told me she couldn’t) They said we couldn’t get a refund because we stayed until 11am (check out is noon) We were with our two young toddlers and had no other options. They were still sleeping and tired from our travels. I tried to cancel and get a refund the night we checked in and were told they couldn’t it had to be through Expedia and the gm says differently. Disgusting rooms and disgusting customer service. Never stay here
This place was wonderful! It exceeded all of our expectation!!! We were nervous to stay at a motel, but I read many of the reviews and they were positive, so we thought we’d give it a try. We just wanted somewhere clean, quiet (not adjacent in the highway), where we could sleep comfortably and allowed dogs with our charging a ridiculous fee. We discovered that Red Roof Inns don’t charge for dogs. That was the reason we looked at this property. The other hotel options within a 1/2 mile (one that literally shares the same parking) were charging double the nightly rate and charged $75 for a pet. That is more than we paid for our room. While our dog could stay free, we absolutely wanted somewhere that was clean, had comfortable beds and had an A/C that worked really well. The Red Roof Inn in Sandusky/Milan met all our needs and much, much more. The room was extremely clean (it looked like it had just been renovated) and smelled great!! The A/C was awesome (didn’t restrict you to a certain range, like many of the larger, well known chains often do) and the beds were comfortable ( my husband, daughter and I all slept very well). They also have a complimentary breakfast which has the essentials (coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt, eggs and sausage, pre packed muffins, and a waffle maker (a must if traveling with kids). Is it a gourmet breakfast? Of course not, but it’s basically the same offering as all category 2 and 3 hotels (at half the nightly rate). They also have a large, indoor pool, as well as a dry sauna. We didn’t use either since we wanted to get up, have breakfast and continue the drive, but it looked terrific. Location is great as well. About 3 miles away is downtown Milan, which is the birth place of Thomas Edison. You can stop by and get a picture of his home and a get a photo on a bench with his statue. Worth the photo opportunity and only takes about 15 minutes there is a entire museum complex as well but we were there outside their hours.
I WISH EVERY IHG HOTEL WAS LIKE THIS ONE! Room was spotless, cozy and comfy with nice natural lighting from the large window. Front desk staff was professional and attentive. Breakfast bacon was THE BEST I have ever had in my many years of travel a
Super nice hotel with personable, friendly staff. The room was clean and fresh, beautifully decorated.....and large enough for 3 adults, a baby, and a 3'x3' play yard (without taking up any walking space); we still had room to spare. The breakfast ar
Hospitality at its finest! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Milan. The location is perfect for enjoying the shops around the square and everything the area has to offer. Judy and Bernie are truly wonderful business owners and made
I was in a group that had 6 pizzas ordered to Kalahari. Was told 5:30pm delivery but they were early by 10-15 minutes with delivery. They called 10 minutes ahead so we had time to get to the lobby. Driver was extremely nice and respectful. Loved
Absolutely loved this quaint little town. Driving through and stopped at the local âmelon festâ had some food and drinks and stumbled upon Thomas Edisonâs birthplace. Quite a bit of history the little Ohio town of Milan.
Great little shop in Milan, always stop when in the area for coffee and a snack. Everything is always fresh, and the staff is very welcoming. Well run establishment, great atmosphere.
