I want to start by saying, yes- some of the rooms don’t look astonishing. Restorations takes lots of time, and money all while not making a ton of noise in respect to the guests. This hotel has real potential, and an A+ team. Don’t be scared away by the complaints of others. This is the reality; it’s not a 5 star resort, and it’s not perfect. It is however very affordable, and competitive for the broad range of hotels. I read through these reviews and wanted to shed some light on what is great about this hotel, and its staff. My wife and I spent two days in this hotel visiting Kentucky, and it was an excellent experience. The staff were very kind, answering all of our questions on check in, and we checked in at night. Usually a hotel night crew is careless, but not this one. The morning crew were equally as attentive and polite. Our room was cleaned FLAWLESSLY. We checked the beds, and everything was clean down to the finest spec on the floor. It’s not noisy, and it’s perfect for short term travel. You also have immediate access to Lexington and Richmond in a very short drive from I75. Give this hotel a chance, you won’t regret it. - Phillip Stone

There is not one part of me that would ever recommend anyone to stay here. Here's how it went for us! We could barely open our door because it was stuck to the floor. So we had to pick up the handle and push with our shoulder just to get into our room. There was an open outlet with exposed wiring (no outlet cover) that the a/c unit was plugged into. Note: We had a small child with us and a dog that we constantly had to keep away from this. The floor tiles were broken from the mortar and WE had to be put them back in place. The bathroom had an area covered in black mold. I would say that the area was 4 inches by 8 inches. We could only use the light and/or microwave as there was only one outlet in that area. So when we microwaved, there was no light. The coffee pot had to be plugged into the lamp in order to use it. Needless to say we will never stay here ever again. Staff were nice and we have no complains towards them. They did their job and I couldn't ask anymore from them. I didn't expect much when staying here for the cost but I would expect a safe room for me and my family to stay in. Tried to talk to corporate about our room and the health code violations but they pushed it onto the hotel to contact us and they never did. I'm not sure how we were able to stay in a room as bad as that. This would be a fantastic hotel if they would put the work into making it a better stay. The location is perfect and even the parking was great. You can door dash pretty much anything you can imagine and it'll be there in 20 minutes or less! I just wish they would charge a little more and fix up the place.

The staff with the exception of the GM were pleasant, courteous and tried to be helpful. The evening desk clerk was especially kind, helpful and a great example of service to the guest. The hotel itself DID NOT come close to either previous reviews or our expectations. The indoor pool which is why we booked this room was not usable. When asked about this, at check out the GM assured us that it was on all the websites that the pool was under construction. We tried to explain that we never saw that and in fact we would not have chosen that property were it not for the indoor pool. Check in was not smooth, as we got to the property prior to 3 and most hotels when they can will let you in early showing hospitality. Unfortunately, the GM flatly stated that check in was not until after 3 and she could not help us until then. We left and went to begin our adventures in Richmond. We got back later that evening and were checked into our room by a very pleasant front desk clerk. Our room was on the third floor at the end of the hall.||The light in the hall over our door was out, the spa tub leaked on the floor and the solution was to give us towels for the floor. No maintenance available until Monday. The ice machines were not working so there was no available ice anywhere on the property, the laundry area detergent dispensers were not working, and the toilet would back up several times during our 3 night stay. They did send a maintenance man on Monday to fix the spa leak only to find that when it ran it sounded like a helicopter was taking off. So it still was not usable. We were not able to speak with the GM until the morning that we were checking out. We tried the day prior because we were told that she would be in only to be told that morning by the front desk clerk that she was not there and they did not know when she would be coming in except that she had an interview scheduled for 1 so she would be there for that. We left a phone number so she could call us and we could go over our concerns and we did not receive a call. When asked at check out the GM assured us that she had tried but could not reach us. We tried to express our concerns, but the GM did not seem to want to listen and was very defensive throughout our attempted conversation. If was obvious that resolution or problem solving was not an expected outcome. We will not be staying at this property ever and unless you just want a red roof over your head and not a pleasant stay we would not suggest you stay at this property. We would not recommend this property to anyone.

This stay was a nightmare. It started before I got there. I was on my way to Kentucky from Indiana and I called to see if their pool is open, the person who answered (Manager F. Walker) had no time to answer questions. She spoke over me when I asked about early check in and scoffed like she was offended I asked. Once I got there I was told they're cash only and I had to load my car back up and go to an ATM then come back. The room doors were not secure and had huge gaps around them and my toilet didn't flush. I called for a manager and no one called back. I emailed and never got a reply. So I tried to call again today, I spoke to the manager (F. Walker) and she, again, wouldn't hear me. She cut me off, laughed at my complaint, told me she wont refund me because the pool was closed (that was only an example of why I called on my way), and she hung up on me...three times. The first time she yelled "Call Corporate then!" before disconnecting, I called back and she let it ring over and over once she finally answered I calmly said "Hi, we just spoke. Can I please have your DM phone number?" and she was clearly angry and said "Google it, Google it, GOOGLE IT!" and hung up again, I called back the final time and calmly asked her name and she reluctantly gave it to me while scoffing and hanging up again. ||This "manager" never asked my name, to look up my stay, or heard out my complaints. She was quick to anger and get defensive over something that wasn't out of hand. This manager has no business working in hospitality. I had a booking for the entire following weekend and I canceled it within 2hrs of being at this hotel and booked elsewhere.||Pros:|The air worked|The room was fairly clean|The desk clerk when I checked in was friendly||Cons: |The dark parking lot at night|The gaps in the room doors|The room door doesnt self shut|The toilet was broken |The ice machines were OOO|The pool is OOO|Cash only at check in|Very dirty floors||I would like to speak with the DM to this location in more detail.

We were greeted by a very friendly agent who had a great outgoing personality. Our room was ready and clean with an excellent location. The Inn is an older inn and is preparing to be up dated in the near future, however everything worked and the bed was comfortable. Would stay here again, they also have a pool.

The rooms were large and clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and was well stocked with towels. The pull out couch was also perfect for accommodating our kids. Our room had ants, but that's not a big deal, they were the small kind that don't bother anyone. They did have a decent breakfast layout in the morning if you wanted to grab coffee and a bagel or something.

This is provably the only Red Roof Inn I'd recommend staying at. Bed and bathroom was clean which is the only thing I care about. Room was muggy but for less than $80 a night travelling on the road, who cares if the tv is small ir if a side table is missing? Employees were polite and felt safe

Red Roof in Richmond was a great place to stop for the night. Right off the highway was convenient but not too close where all you hear is hwy traffic. Rooms were nice and clean. However, a lot of the amenities were out of service, and the building could use an uodate.
