Red Roof Inn Newport News - Yorktown - Hotel in Yorktown - 4531 George Washington Memorial Hwy, USA

The Inn is in a perfect location for the reasons of our visit. There are many establishments and restaurants nearby. It is also close to a few shopping plazas and a recreation area. The carpet in the hallway on the second floor needs to be changed; it stinks. The room was okay but not worth the price. My suggestion is that they train their housekeeping staff to clean properly. We found meat chunks on the floor, a baby bag on the chair that must have been left by a previous guest, and also a teether in the fridge. It looks like housekeeping just made the bed and left. I still give three stars for service since the front desk was okay.

Came in with no reservations and tired from my long travels. Management team made me feel at ease and relaxed. If you need anything you only have to ask, staff are friendly and accommodating. It's was very hot outside and when I got to my room it was cool and refreshing. I requested my bed linens to be changed. Staff came up right away, with crisp fresh linens and remade the bed for me, simply because I asked. I slept very well and peaceful. Would stay here again. Thank you staff!

Stayed at Red Roof Inn and Suites for my nephews military graduation at Fort Eustis. I loved the location area, 5 minutes away from base and many other places close by...can't get better than that!!. Bobbie the GM and her staff were respectful, honest and friendly. My experience here is definitely on my next place or Red Roof Inn!! Thank you for the hospitality!!!

This hotel may look nice from the outside but poorly kept by cleaning staff. Mattress cover had body fluid stains, The jet tub was dirty as well. There was debries and trash along, and behind the baseboards. Not to mention the noise coming from the AC unit. I expressed these concerns to managment. He offered me 1 free night in front of a lobby of guest, and I told him do to the time and duration we were in the area. We would get another night but because his staff failed to input the extended stay, another party wanted the room. While I was out with my family he removed my familes stuff and put in a plastic bag. He said I have a diffrent room you can have. I explained that this wasn't right. Because I told him I would leave a bad review he asked me and my family to leave.

Positive: "" Negative: There was only a small bench by the front door to set on would be better if there was a sitting area and a dog walk since it is a pet friendly hotel. Will be even better when the pool is up and running but they have worked very hard on this hotel

I’m not even sure where to begin. I came with my parents, we booked two separate rooms under two separate names. The first rooms we were put in smelled so strongly of cigarettes, so we asked to change rooms. Then when we switched rooms, they gave my parents a room that someone was in. It was not cleaned, TV was on, so they had to switch again. There was yelling and screaming and doors banging all night. They did nothing to make up for the fact they gave my parents a used room. Then, we decided to move hotels, so I went to return my key by myself. In the lobby, another guest cornered me in front of check-in and started catcalling me and the frost desk clerk just looked and said nothing. Horrible stay, wouldn’t reccomend to anyone trying to get a good nights rest or stay safe.

Bed is comfortable and the door locks. Room is clean, bathroom is clean.I'm staying here once again for work and can definitely see some improvements have been made! Great job you guys and thanks for a clean comfy place to sleep. Everything works as it should! Water pressure and temperature is great. Elevator has some issues (functions better then the stairs for sure) but I've seen the improvements from the last time I stayed 7 months ago.

Updating to add that no additional investigation was done on their part (regardless of their response to my initial review below) or effort made to right their wrong. It took multiple phone calls over a few days to set up my 2 room, 2 night reservation due to lack of management around and in the process of a new reservation system (same name used, dates, and connecting rooms). I ended up canceling weeks in advance but they apparently only canceled 1 room and charged me for the other for "no call no show". After over an hour disputing it, they agreed to investigate the call recording where I canceled but still determined it was my error, not theirs. Now I have to eat the cost of a room we never used for 2 days.
