Red Roof Inn Dayton - Moraine/U of Dayton - Hotel in Moraine - 2450 Dryden Rd, USA

Was booked for 2 nights. $174.72 Where do I start?||-Was the worst rat's nest I have seen. 45 minutes to finally get into room. After messing with room keys. (I was the only one in line to check in). |-Reserved King bed. Didn't have it. 2 queens. |-TV didn't work. No one there could get it working. There was some kind of box on dresser that had all kinds of wires coming out of it. One of the employees asked if it was mine. (Ah, no just walked in room)|-Phone didn't work. Wasn't plugged in, and couldn't find where to plug in.|-Shampoo, Lotion and another something, in plastic cups on counter with hand written pieces of paper under it explaining what was in cheap plastic cups. (yeow)|-Couldn't stay there. Went up front to cancel, they said I couldn't since it was less that 24 hours ahead. Told them to cancel next night. Said he did. Have yet to see refund on my bill|-I wish I had taken photos, I just wanted out of there|-

Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because the location is quite a ways from any dining choices. Yes it’s an older Red Roof but the exterior was OK and the lobby and our room had recently been updated. Our room was clean, we had no complaints. It is in an industrial area which to me made it safer because there weren’t loiterers hanging around the area as there sometimes are in a more populated part of town. We will stay again if in the area.

Checked in. Dropped off suitcases. Went out for a few hours. When we got back, our door was open. All of our stuff still there. We thought *maybe* we didn't shut the door hard enough, all the way, etc. Decided to not worry about it. Stayed the night but felt uncomfortable all night. When leaving to get breakfast the next morning, wanted to double check the door this time. Wiggled the handle a few times, pushed on it, and the door POPPED OPEN. Spoke to the manager, who didn't care to listen, just talked over us. Waved a paper in our face saying that she has a maintenance list and no one has ever complained about that door. We asked to cancel the rest of our reservervation (1 more night, 2nights total). Didn't even ask for a refund for the night we stayed there, just cancel/refund our 2nd night. She refused. She offered a different room, but at that point we were uncomfortable and felt unsafe. Area is very industrial. Nothing around. The motel is shady looking. We didnt know if someone had already broken into our room the day before (funny that she had cameras that she said she would check if we "forced" our door open but no offer was made to see if someone broke into our room). We did not want to stay there. Called Redroof INN customer helpline since the manager was so awful. This person went back and forth between us and the manager on the phone. Manager called us liars stating the door didn't open, but then simultaneously stated that we forced open the door. So which is it? It never opened or we forced it? She then called us liars again by stating that we just had a change of plans and that's why we wanted to leave. Which was not the case. In the end, we were offered 50% off our 2nd night only, and only if we were downstairs to check out in the next 20 min (this was at 830am). And even then, she asked again if we had decided to stay! I wish I would have read the reviews for this place before booking. The other 1 star reviews are 100% correct. Rude manager. Dirty. No soap in the room. Floor was gritty like it had dirt all over it. Shady people hanging around. A/C doesn't work right. TV didnt work right. And apparently they don't care if your door isn't secure. Went to Holiday Inn Express right down the road. Almost twice the price, but 100% worth it. Going to go give them a 5star review now.

From the Lobby to the room, all clean and well kept. The room seemed all "new" including the floor, furniture and AC unit. This is one of the nicest and cleanest Red Roofs I have been at to-date! This is a inexpensive and great stay in Dayton South, will be back!

One of the BEST Red Roofs I have stayed at so far...Do NOT understand some bad reviews, From the Lobby to the grounds and my room, Clean and well kept! My room was all "NEW" including flooring, Ac unit, bed and furniture. This motel is in a industrial area, but then no loud bars or neighbours either, and close re-entry to I-75. Will stay again when in the area, Thank You!

service is good, rooms are clean 25% of the time the location is ok I mean the cops are here on the regular I have noticed but if you plan on relaxing and watching some TV might as well go somewhere else! the last two times I have stayed here the cable has been out and both times I have been given a different excuse! its annoying specially when they don't advertise that on their website or the third party site. so not only do you have to fight to get a refund that takes 7-10 business days but if you do decide to stay, its a $50 deposit. so I wouldn't recommend if you're trying to relax

This motel was the most unfriendly motel I have ever encountered. Our booking was via a third party booking platform and for some reason (we have had multiple explanations from all parties) we were not given a room (despite having a receipt). The location is in industrial area the car park was completely empty even at 5.30pm??? When I asked if there were other rooms we could actually pay for they said "yes" but did not actually offer them to us, so we left. Would avoid Dayton altogether. Note 98% of our bookings from LA to Washington were via a third party and all were perfect except for this one.

This hotel is horrible! The pictures online make it look like a nice place. When we drove up it looked liked a seedy motel. It's in a nasty looking industrial area and the outside looks very run down. When checking in we were asked if we were paying by credit card or cash. What? Who pays cash for a hotel? Does this place rent by the hour too then? It literally made my skin crawl. Then we were told that the TVs didn't work in the rooms and they weren't going to be fixed for about 2 weeks. TV isn't a huge priority for me but the fact that they could have their TV service out for 2 weeks and expect people to stay there was a sort of mind blowing. My family and I could not stay at that place. We'd have had to sleep with one eye open, I was afraid there'd be drive by shootings all night long it looked that bad. We quickly found a nicer place just up the road and booked that. I told the clerk at the desk that we were cancelling our reservation and staying elsewhere. They charged us for the stay anyway! This is a terribly run business that misrepresents itself as a nice place for families to stay. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
