Red Roof Inn Clifton Park - Featured Reviews (444)
2 night stay at this red roof. Close to interstate for convenience but did not hear traffic noise. Room size was good but not fond of sink area outside the toilet area.
I had my doubts about staying as soon as I walked into the room. No elevator to 2nd floor, stairway and hallway carpets were dirty. Room was very dated. Bath fixtures were old and rusty. Linens were clean and there are basic toiletries. Floor was not carpeted and it felt sticky so we always kept our shoes on. Windows were dirty, dust on the desk chair base. The refrigerator in the room must have leaked something as the floor underneath it had a brown spot. Also a brown spot on the wall next to toilet paper dispenser, you can imagine what that was. I cleaned it off so we didn't have to look at it.
Front desk said they were short on housekeeping staff and I could see they were working late to clean rooms. Front desk help one evening were outside chatting as we came in, while the phone in the lobby desk rang for several minutes. I would not stay there again. It's a budget price and poorly operated. We did feel like it was a safe area and there are local convenience close by. It needs a good cleaning and updating.
Beware…We stayed two nights here to spend a couple days at the race track. Our family rented a room here as well, but checked in before us. They got there at 6pm and they told them one room was ready but ours wasn’t cleaned yet…we showed up at 9:30 after a long day (myself, husband, toddler, and 3 month old baby). We walked in to freshly made beds, clean towels, basic toiletries…but that was it. We also had a broken tv that wouldn’t shut off, flickering lights, clearly dirty floors, dead bugs by the lamp, a dirty shower with the last persons soap still in it, and a mini fridge with someone’s leftover soft drink in it…if we didn’t have to get our babies to bed, we would’ve made them clean our room again. We used towels to wipe up the floors (turned the towels black!) but still walked around in our shoes because we were so grossed out. We sprayed down the shower ourselves and wipes off the sink. We unplugged the tv to shut it off. Luckily we brought beds for the babies and my husband and I just slept in the cleanest looking bed. We found a couple little spiders, a few ants, and a couple other questionable bugs too. I could not wait to get out of there! We slept there and that’s it. We stayed at the la Quinta down the road last year and that was amazing, we will book early to stay there again.
The staff seemed kind, but they seem like they need more help/better pay/better supplies to do their jobs!
I highly don't recommend staying at this hotel. For one it is pretty run down looking and the cost is pretty high. Also, while I was there the lawn people started lawn mowing at 7AM with no consideration for the guests. I own my own business and I often work even when I am on vacation. I went to bed later as I was up working late and I haven't been able to sleep this morning due to the amount of noise. I called the front desk who said they would say something to the lawn people and that did nothing. If you want to stay somewhere quiet this isn't the place.
Thank you! When we reserved as we traveled, we didn't realize it was a third party booking. The staff responded helpfully and cleared up the details promptly. Our stay was very comfortable and the wifi worked easily! We were glad to see waffles in the breakfast area
This was the worst experience we've had. We asked for housekeeping every other day and had absolutely no housekeeping the whole week even after talking to the supervisor of housekeeping. Had to get our towels twice from front desk. People standing behind the building smoking and it was not cigarettes. We wouldn't eat the breakfast. Do not stay here
Positive: Nothing! Negative: The entire hotel was in very poor condition and in need of repair. The bathroom was not clean, paint pealing, and moldy. The so-called breakfast was disgusting - no cereal, no milk for the coffee. The hallways haven?t been vacuumed in a very long time.
the bathrooms could use a deep cleaning, under beds and hallways could use a GOOD vacuuming job. Tina from housing keeping was VERY GOOD. The Breakfast was not that great as there was no timer on the waffle maker and VERY limited tof what to eat. Are 1st room (239) a light was unplug and as my wife plugged it in all the electric in the room was gone the 2nd room under the bed was very dirty.
The building looked like it could use a little TLC. The room was dusty all over the table and TV stand. Garbage all over the parking lot around the building. Shame their guests couldn't be more respectful to them. The staff was friendly and attentive though.
Had everything I could think of. Rooms were nice. Beds were extra firm compared to what I was used to. And parking lot got filled up but they gave me a paper to place in my window to park in the lot next door. I'd stay again
