Red Roof Inn & Suites Anderson, SC - Featured Reviews (938)
UPDATE: After a conversation with the owner of this establishment, the issue was resolved. That is why the change from 2 stars to 5. I would like to take this time to thank the owner, management, and staff for all their hard work. Thank you again.
My husband and I have been staying here for a couple of years. We had no problem with the management or staff. We were allowed to cook outside on our own grill without any problems. We were selling food to the guests here on Sundays. We were told that we could no longer do that, so we stopped. Then just recently we received this notice saying that we can no longer even grill outside.
By policy this is your second notice. The policy will be fully enforced for the entirety of your stay. Firstly, is your rate plan as of 3/1/24 your daily rate has increase to $59.99+tax, which has to be paid every day for the reminder of your stay without missing any days. Secondly we have established you are not to be selling food on the property. As an establishment we do not have the proper permit to be selling food. Also, the grill machine and all setup outside your room is not permitted at all on property. Your pay for your reservation covers your room only, it does not cover using the outside premises. If for any reason you fail to abide by the policy you will have to vacate the room, along with the property.
Thank you,
Management
This establishment has a charcoal grill outside by their green pool. They also state on their website that they have Continental breakfast, which is false advertising.
For all who stays here, I just want you to be prepared and good luck.
By the way, no one else received this letter and that sounds to me like discrimination.
So the root of the matter is...are your guests at your establishment allowed or not allowed to grill outside their room?
Basically crappiest motel on the planet especially for the price. Toilet clogs if you use it and undoubtedly there's a septic issue when it backs up because (?sewage) seeps up through the floor. Rarely have usable hot water. No coffee in room or lobby. Dilapidated flooring on stair well landing. Had contractors change door locks while the rooms were occupied required a grinder to modify doors and slung sparks and metal shavings onto our property. (Not blaming contractors. They were just doing their jobs.) Manager should be better at scheduling maintenance and he's also rude at times. No problem with house keepers. They do the best they can with what they're workin' with. The other reviews going back for years says it all. Should have read them before we came.
Terrible place. I made reservations a day before and when we got to the hotel they said they didn't take reservations. Also the rooms look nothing like the pictures online. We asked for non smoking rooms for all 3 and they all smelled like cigarette. There was holes on the sheets from the cigarette and they had roaches as well. It was a terrible experience overall for us all. I do not recommend anyone staying here
I get cheap, and run down. I chose this hotel for an expensive way to bring my two little dogs. I do not however feel I should have to sacrifice cleanliness. Yes, things were broken, The room was missing a TV, desk chair and didn't even have a trash can. The toilet didn't flush unless you jiggled the float in the tank, and the sink was cracked. I could go on because there was tons more issues, all of which I could over look for the price. BUT this room was filthy, like has never been cleaned. Splatter on literally every wall, tub has never been wiped out, squished spider guts on the ceiling. It was disgusting! The lady who checked me in was very sweet though, but holly smokes people, clean your rooms. 🤮
Pictures do not pick up the actual filth very well, and I don't want to post all 25 that I took.
My boyfriend had plan a trip for us yesterday and needed somewhere for an overnight stay. Red roof Inn should be called Homeless Roof Inn. It's VERY FILTHY and not maintain very well to even set the prices as such. There were children running and yelling half the day and the parents screaming while arguing with the children or arguing with other adults. The room had clothes that was left hanging in the bathroom, floors were sticky and dirty, the bed covers looked as if they haven't been washed, and burn holes all on the bed. We also had people kept coming and beating on the door looking for someone else and catching attitude when we wouldn't open the door. There was no need to go too the front desk and complain because it wouldn't do any good. I don't want a discount for my next stay because it won't be a nice stay. My boyfriend deserves to get his money back!!!
They have a new name, and cheap rates, and they are remodeling the rooms, however, there is a lot of drama there daily, cops are always around, and the daytime front desk woman is rude as hell. Tighten up 💪!
If you plan on leaving the room plan on going to the office to get new key cards because they don't work they work once and then you have to go back and back and back. Hopefully you sleep well because the place is full of loud druggies and drinkers all times of the day and night. Ohhh and the broken down cars in the parking lot... Lovely!
REALLY glad I brought my dog for more protection since these people they allow to stay there love hanging out on front of room doors yelling at one another and the sky!
It's run down and needs a lot of work. The toilet leaked and I suppose I paid for THAT🤬. There's no coffee anywhere as advertised. Few snacks in the lobby. Glad I come prepared. Minus the coffee and a blow dryer.
I can rough it or be fancy. THIS felt worse than roughing IT. Might of been better if THEY did help with everything I asked for help with besides the dang key cards!
I could keep going and going. But pretty sure you'll have an idea now- if you're researching the place before you book your stay. Good luck 🤞 🍀 you're gonna need it!
DO NOT STAY HERE! After speaking to some locals, this place is referred to as a local "crack house." We booked this room online because of the price and the online pictures looked fine for our one night stay. Once we checked in and went up to the room, we immediately smelled stale cigarette smoke. There was actually a cigarette butt on the floor beside the bed. The bed looked like someone had just laid in it. We looked around the room for a few minutes, and for our safety, we decided to take the L and booked a hotel down the road. There was a lot of questionable activity going on in the parking lot and outside the room. Do not stay here. Not sure who would give this place a positive review.
I have to give this particular RI itâs well deserved 5 stars. No issues from the staff and servicesâ¦.not even the guests (which no one really can control). Clean rooms, good turn down service great front staff. Standard of service with a smile is
Stayed at The Bleckley Inn for 4 nights over the new year. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and so very cozy. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the convenience of free breakfast was exactly what we needed for lazy mornings, loved
Was located right off the main highway. Was pet friendly which was very important! King size bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. Great continental breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only one complaint..shower was out of shampoo. W
Maya at the front desk was friendly and professional. The room was a little muggy when we first arrived but the AC helped fix it. Water pressure was GREAT. Bed was soft and relatively comfortable and the pillows had different thickness/firmness choic
A very quiet and well kept hotel, I've come to the area just to relax and unwind, and I couldn't think of a more perfect hotel in the area. Also one of the few hotels with jetted tubs.
The breakfast is always a great experience, and the comfort of t
I was visiting the town on my business trip. Reached out for a drop in class, got a really fast & welcoming response from PJ. Signed pretty quick once there. The class was great! Lots of students but not crowded as the mat area was quite large. Great

Love this place and the retro games that i played so often as a teenager. And I've not seen the cookie monster ice cream anywhere else. Yes it will dye everything it comes into contact with, but it will wear away super fast. Way faster than you'd ex
