We stayed here two nights on separate reservations - one room was on the pool side and the other on the parking lot. Both were very quiet, clean, and comfortable. I don’t sleep well in hotels, but I did here. The beds are wonderful and different sizes/densities of pillows are available. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. Another great feature - the pet fee is so much less than other hotels! It is a great stay for the price and location. There are so many great restaurants nearby that it’s no trouble that their restaurant isn’t operating.

We have stayed her a handful of times in the past and were always happy. This time? Not so much. ||The good: bed was comfortable; chair in room was nice/comfy; it was quiet [it did not appear many were staying there]. They allow dogs; provide cleanup bags. ||The not so good: Our bathroom floor had grit on it; I tried to clean it up with a damp tissue but it was way too much. A nice young man from the front desk came up immediately with a dust pan and broom and swept the floor and apologized. He did the best he could but grit remained. When I showered the next morning, similar grit was on the edge of the tub. The nightstands and desk were clean, but the tv stand furniture had sooo much dust on it. I get it, it’s a dusty area but that had not been dusted in some time. I cleaned it as best I could with a wet wipe. ||A point to note if you stay here: there is no coffee pot/supplies in the room so hubby drove to a coffee stand to get us coffee. When he checked out, he noticed a coffee urn in the lobby. Oddly, there is no hotel info sheet in the room [eg, there’s coffee in the lobby, a tv channel guide, restaurant info, nada]. ||The hotel feels a bit tired — the siding by our entrance was broken up on the lower edge; peeling paint. ||I feel like something has changed with this hotel — did it sell? Different manager?

This place needs to be shut down!! It is absolutely filthy ! The guy at the front desk was super nice but that was the only thing positive. It looked like dogs had pooped on the floor and was never shampooed. I can’t believe they were charging us $130 for a room this disgusting. We cancelled our reservation and went to the Holiday Inn Express.

Very nice pool with a great view of the prairie and Blue Mountains in the distance! Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were closed during our stay but the location is convenient for food options. Rooms could use some updates, but the beds were very comfortable and with blackout drapes it was easy to get much needed rest for the journey ahead! Staff was friendly and helpful!

Black mold in bathroom, dirty dirty grout in. Bathroom, ceiling stability issues in room.no coffee maker in room (upon request, yes) Staff too busy gossiping to refill coffee or coffee cups in lobby. (Benefits, hourly pay, who is a good employee etc….not my business, and shouldn’t be discussing it) Lobby doors are broken, the place is dated. And that could be completely overlooked, but the maintenance is terrible. When I shut my door to go get coffee, the safety latch was jostled, and because the screw was loose, it latched the door locked! There were not that many people there, they should only rent out the fairly well maintained rooms, and get things up to par. I have seen management responses to other reviews, and they take NO ownership or responsibility for the health hazzards that people undergo while staying here. Seriously, black mold? When I told the front desk staff, I got the “I will make a note of it”. My bad for not reading reviews first. It looks like regardless of complaints, they are not fixing. But, believe me, I was definitely told 3 times that if you are caught smoking, or if you have an undeclared dog, there is a fee… I signed that notice, but did not see a notice that if you find black mold, you will be reimbursed. This place has a gorgeous view. This place has potential.

The one and only thing wrong with this hotel is… nobody knows about it. Well, that’s sure to change starting with us because as my wife and I celebrate our retirements with non-stop traveling, we stay in Pendleton twice a year (coming and going from Vancouver WA to Daytona Beach FL). We tried all the other hotels multiple times over the past 10 years of roaming — but the Red Lion has us for keeps now. We were fortunate enough to have the Parlor Room and we’re absolutely bowled over when we walked in. It’s enormous! A giant living room (couch, 2 comfy easy chairs), with adjacent dining room table for 4 and a large wet-bar/kitchenette area with microwave and super-sized mini-refrigerator. Double sliding doors close off the, you guessed it, enormous bedroom (King bed) with a big TV, desk and office chair. The views out the 2 balconies were spectacular, with never-ending farmland as far as the eye can see. Bathroom has the biggest jacuzzi tub known to man, with double vanity sinks. Per management, in-room coffee-makers are on order — but there is self-serve coffee in the lobby starting at 5 a.m. There you might find the cheerful greeting from Kathleen, whose smile will start your day off right. Parking surrounds the quite large property, so you can park and enter close to your room. There is s amazing bar and restaurant not yet open but when it does, you will probably be turning your overnight stay into several days here. Also, a great big outdoor pool (seasonal). Special thanks to GM Cheryl for taking such good care of us and congratulations on a hotel soon to take off spectacularly. See you next time for sure!

Oh, where to start? An unsafe, dirty, dingy, dark, dilapidated excuse of a hotel! This place made me envious of the Motel 6 up the street! What happened to the Red Lion brand? Once a dependable, respectable place to stay in the Northwest when I traveled, Red Lion has let many of their properties slip into not even mediocrity. Homeless people on fentanyl lying on the sidewalk while the building door was unlocked and didn't require a key card to access it! The room was grimy. Hair on the bathroom floor, mildew on the ceiling, and a bizarre musty smell that permeated everything. There was a used toothflosser next to the bed, a smashed and smeared spider on the wall, and cheap, half-empty toiletries, not the Cascadia brand their towels still advertise. Don't wear your white socks on the carpet! You will be reminded of the filthy, decades-old carpet holding all the "dirty secrets" of the last guest. Don't run your hand along any of the surfaces--they ran out of swiffers a couple years ago. The front desk couldn't find our reservation, the building is filled with stairs making it difficult for the disabled to navigate. The spa has been boarded up for quite some time with an old sheet of peeling plywood and orange safety net--classy! There are unsafe outdoor stairs that have been corded off, and the siding is rotting away. The balconies are knee-deep in bird droppings and spider webs. The only landscaping being maintained is mowing. The once beautiful rose gardens and plant beds are overgrown with weeds and big piles of debris. Meanwhile, the restaurant and bar are still shuttered due to "Covid". I want my money back, Pendleton Red Lion! You are running quite a scam!

This is an older hotel with a style from the past. I saw other reviews complaining about maintenance and the hotel being dated but I think it adds character to the room. It may be a little worn on the corners but it feels like a place that has been doing and still does what it was built to do. The pool and hot tub are seasonal so if you want those check if they are open first and unfortunately the restaurant and lounge have been closed for a few years. Says temporary but if it’s been that long is it really temporary? Overall it was a nice place to stop for the night.

My best friend and I showed up after having detoured 4 hours to avoid the I84 closure and were exhausted. We needed separate rooms because I had to work early in the morning. The front desk person was amazing and then the 2nd person at the desk later

An incredibly eye opening experience! We left with a completely different view of the history we've been taught compared to reality, so sad, and wished we could apologize to everyone on behalf of all the awful things we did to all the native tribes.
