Great course and was perfectly fine with the $50 we paid for an evening tee time. That was until the Marshall followed behind us starting at hole 12. He told us we needed to have our carts in by 7:45 when we really needed to have them in at 8:30. We finished up hole 14 around 8:00 and he comes back up behind us and tells us to just go play 18 and go home because in his words, “at the rate your playing you’ll be lucky to finish that one before dark.” We were able to finish 2 more holes after that and have our carts in before 8:30.
I played a round there in mid May. The course was in very good shape. Though I booked as a single and it was my first time on the course, the starter was kind enough to pair me with a couple guys who knew the course well. We were the same age and our skills were comparable, which made for an enjoyable day of golf, played in about four hours. We waited on no one and we were never pushed. I can't remember exactly what I paid to play, but I'll say it was certainly worth the cost. The greens rolled true, the sand in the bunkers was great and the tee boxes and fairways were fine. I would absolutely play there again.
Once my favorite golf course after moving here from asan Diego.
As of 2024 season it has been terrible.
3 hours for 9 holes.
The staff is friendly but the marshals do absolutely nothing.
They don’t have water.
They don't correct the pace.
Just drive around smiling.
Only time the marshal says anything is when they want you to turn the carts in so they can go home.
If you want to drive 30 minutes to golf, just go to Toiyabe where they care about your experience and you’ll save on the tee time.
Nice rooms, but we found it ridiculous to be charged $20 for a room key that we think we left in the room after a 2-room and 2-night stay and 3 meals at their restaurant. Google says hotel keys have a value of less than $1. I travel a lot and have never been charged for a plain white plastic key card
First time I have ever played this course. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. Course overall is a great but tough course. Play the lakes course very tough but we'll worth the price.
I had a terrible experience at Red Hawk Golf. $50 was fine until the rude marshall sat behind us for 4 holes and kept telling us to go faster even though we were the only people playing the course. He would make rude comments saying “at this rate you guys won’t finish before dark” and even tried to make us bring our carts back an hour early. Seems like the guy just wanted to get off work early and picked us to be his issue. Most likely won’t go back until that guys gone. Save some money and time and go play lake ridge.
I will not pay 25$ for some out of focus blurry photos. Some staff made comments referring to a group as “colored” people. The resort is beautiful but it has a terrible atmosphere
I like golfing there, it's close to home. I do think they are priced to high for being a local coarse. Most coarses around reno sparks are alot cheaper. How can it be 150.00 on Saturday but then 70.00 on Sunday. Prices have skyrocketed there last 2 years. Alot there has changed there.
