This place is AWESOME. Great steaks and plates! Highly recommend and will go back! It’s extremely RARE that you get such a loaded treat like this!! 🥩🐮🍔🍟🥗 📸 Beef Tartare 📸 Bone Marrow 📸 Red Cow Burger & Frites 📸 Ribeye 📸 Salad Verte @RedCowSeattle French brasserie with full bar in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood serving a robust selection of steak cuts and French favorites. 📍Seattle, WA 🐟
It was our first time at Red Cow and we had a wonderful experience. We ordered almost everything off the happy hour menu and the stand out was the beef tartare and the chicken liver mousse with apple butter. Next time I'll be sure to try their other items.
Went for Seattle Restaurant Week. This place is disappointingly mid unfortunately. Nothing to wow you, barely seasoned. I too read reviews when deciding on a place for SRW, and I ignored the 2 & 3 star ones, listen to those reviews. There’s a reason for them unfortunately. Onion soup is WAY to pungent. The steak barely had seasoning. Fries had BO SEASONING. Seattle exhausts meeee, y’all it’s okay to season your food I promise ! The Pumpkin pice panna cotta was the best part tbh. Even the cocktails were mid. Ended up paying $84($50 SRW menu + cocktail + tip) Also that 4% charge is super duper annoying , raise your prices and pay taxes it makes your customers even more annoyed. Tbh there’s way better places to spend $80 at so I just personally wouldn’t come back here, just not worth it. Also it’s WAY TOO HOT in there ??? For no reason.
We always love going to Red Cow! The staff are always so welcoming. We usually get any of the steaks or the pork chop as our entree, but any other entree we've ordered has also exceeded our expectations! The bread and butter is divine. The roasted beets we had tonight were pretty dreamy! We favor sitting on the patio, but indoor dining is lovely too. It's one of our two go-to places for a nice dinner out.
Having been to many (and enjoyed) most of ES restaurants, I was hoping that Red Cow would be another good experience. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. Red Cow is nestled in the quaint neighborhood of Madrona and was a place I had been looking forward to trying. The environment is nice, and our waiter was very friendly. We visited in early 2023. The French onion soup was good, but extremely salty. This was difficult to finish, and I struggle to believe that any chef had tasted it before serving. The salad was created with good ingredients, but the almost fishy vinaigrette was unusual and unpleasant. The grilled squash was the best dish of the night and was delicious. I could not fault the mussels either; it went quite well with the fries (which were nice too). Unfortunately, despite Red Cow's claim to fame of a 'robust offering of steak', the expensive star of the show was also the biggest disappointment. A great piece of meat, with nice kitchen equipment to create a strong sear (crust was good), yet poorly and unevenly cooked, completely under-seasoned. Requested mid-rare, came mostly raw and slightly blue in the middle. Yes, the cut we chose was more challenging to cook, but isn't that supposed to be the restaurant's forte? We waited a while for the steak so why not let it rest a few more minutes before slicing and serving? I found it inexcusable given that the steak came sliced, so the kitchen would have been able to see the doneness immediately and feel how the meat was like when slicing. I'd recommend saving your time and money, and buy some prime ribeye steaks from Costco instead, plus a meat thermometer, for much better results. As a side note, Red Cow went through the trouble to re-print the entire menu, with a note saying that 4% extra will be added to the prices and retained by the restaurant. Why not just increase the prices on the menu? Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Red Cow and I hope it improves and put some care into making some good steaks.
Everything was perfect. Very interesting flavors and dishes. Great service! Enjoyed the Filet Steak. Very good!
We LOVE ES restaurants so of course we had to try this place and quite honestly we weren’t as impressed as some of his other locations but it wasn’t like terrible or anything! Our waiter was super nice which was great but it took over an hour to get our main entree, by that time we were absolutely starving! I ordered the burger medium but it came like super rare, and it was disappointing cause I was so hungry. Also the bun was super burnt, and that’s all I could taste. Overall the burger had like no flavor. We also ordered the coulotte steak, it was delicious though! We also got the beet salad which was super good & the bread which was delicious. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the food came really slow, took over 2 hours to get 2 appetizers and 2 entrees out. Our waiter was super nice but that’s a really long time. We were seated at like 615pm and didn’t get our entrees until close to 745pm. And because of my burger. Otherwise it was great! But I prefer other ES restaurants much more than this one.
The steak frites here are the best, hands down, this side of the Atlantic. Steaks cooked to perfection, fries that stay crispy through your meal, with an excellent choice of sauces. The French Onion soup is just the right, and the mussels were delightful. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and take in depth precautions against Covid, including strictly enforced temperature checks on arrival. A covered yet well ventilated outside patio is both spacious and comfortable, with sufficient heaters for each table. An excellent selection of French as well as domestic wines available both by the bottle and glass. The host, Ross, is delightful, as was our waiter, Mitch. Great experience!
I do have to say that their burger is one of the best in Seattle. It was a little costly but totally worth the price for the amount of food you get. Their drink menu is great and they have some interesting cocktails. The apps I got were delicious and
