Red Carpet Inn Newark Irvington offers a budget-friendly stay near Newark Airport with a complimentary shuttle service. Reviews are mixed, with some guests appreciating the affordable rates and convenient location, while others mention outdated rooms, cleanliness issues, and noise disturbances. If you prioritize price and proximity to the airport and don't mind basic accommodations, this could be a suitable option. However, if you're seeking a more comfortable and modern stay, you might consider other alternatives in the area.

This is without a doubt, the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life. If you need a comparison, this is that type of hotel that once you step foot into your room, you're going to ask yourself whether or not you should book a place somewhere else because this place is just that bad. I actually had this conversation with my partner once we entered our room. Anyways, here are some of my complaints. The front desk person was rude and unprofessional and exhibit a "I hate my job" attitude. He was on a personal call while checking me in. Totally, leave me alone attitude. No greeting or hello whatsoever. The carpet in the entrance and throughout the hallways of the hotel smells like urine and smoke. It is almost unbearable. You're going to be holding your breath throughout the entire walk to your room. The smell in the room is not as bad, but still unpleasant. Needless to say, the carpet are filthy and looks like it needed a deep cleaning over a decade ago. This alone is a deal breaker for most. The light switches that control all the lights in the room are near the door. There are no light switches near the bed so you'll need to get up and walk to the door to switch off the lights. The towels are really cheap material and does not dry the body. There are no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels or other accessories. There is no hair dryer, no coffee maker, no microwave, no safe locker. There is only 1 wall outlet for charging your phone or other electrical devices in the bedroom. Furniture are extremely outdated, old and dirty. It looks worst that donated furniture. It looks like something you see on the side of a curb for trash pickup. The walls are thin and you can hear when someone is walking or talking outside your door. Extremely noisy at night. During my 3 night stay, there was someone playing really loud music up until 4am in the morning. It wasn't the guests in the room next to mine but instead I think it was coming from above. The phone doesn't work. The TV freezes on some channels. There is no ice maker or water fountain. They can only activate one room card at a time. Once they activate a second card, the first card stops working and they weren't able to fix it. Area does not feel safe. There was always at least 1 person outside, even at 2-3am in the morning, smoking MJ. Housekeeping staff was extremely rude and once again exhibits the "I hate my job" attitude. When asked for fresh towels, she scowled at us and rudely demanded, "give me your towels," then threw them on the floor, gave us new ones and then walked off annoyed. No other words were exchanged besides "give me your towels." You might be thinking about staying here because this place is cheaper than other places, but honestly, its not worth it. Spend a bit more and avoid this horrible establishment. A ruined vacation is not worth it.

Fantastic little gem - lovely staff very secure and so near New York, it’s my home away from home. The staff are super heplful and the manager Caroline is the best and goes out of her way to hep you. I can’t wait to return.|The rooms are clean an tidy.

I really do hate coming here. One the lady at the front desk was so rude and always had been. They have mice running around at one point they had bedbugs. The maids are rude. The televisions barely work. The crackheads that hang out in the hallway are nasty. And they have the nerve to have 2024 hotel of the year award. This place is TRASH. I wish I would give it zero stars.

My stay at this hotel was terrible, mainly because of the receptionist, especially a girl who was really rude. When I arrived at 11 am with lots of bags, I asked if I could leave my 1 bag to them for just a few minutes so I could grab some food nearby. Instead of being helpful, she just laughed and said no.I ended up waiting in the lobby for almost four hours, and then they made me wait outside even though I'd already paid for my room. They wouldn't even let me use the restroom, which was really mean, especially since i was waiting for too long and it was cold outside. Don't stay here unless you want to be treated badly. The girl receptionist don’t deserve to be working as a receptionist this hotel will lost a lot of customers because of her.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Roaches, rats, bed bugs you named. Bad, bad service. You telling them what happens and they are so arrogant. Of course they know what happens and pretend they don’t know and it’s your fault. Don’t go there. That place should be closed by the authorities. Worst experience ever! OMG!

Hotel is located not far from Newark Airport. Not very nice area and rooms are very noisy, you can hear all your neighbors. Rooms are old and in not too good condition. The best feature of that hotel was the price for the night. |The staff just was, nothing more

THIS PLACE IS A FACADE!!! IF YOU WANT A GOOD EXPERIENCE THIS ISNT THE PLACE FOR THAT. When my spouse and I arrived they seemed confused and we could barely hear them. It was two employees and one was just minding his business and then he jumped in because the other guy talking to us was speaking very low and we couldn't hear. I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING BREAKFAST RELATED WHATSOEVER. THEY HAD ICE BUCKET IN THE ROOM BUT I WENT OUT TO GET ICE AND I DIDNT SEE ANY ICE MACHINE. The staff was very moody with a straight face and didnt seem friendly whatsoever so we didn't approach them. We ordered chines and when we wanted to re-heat our food they didn't have a microwave for us to use. On too of everything we booked for two night because we were going to Prudential Center for Nicki minaj concert, on our second day my spouse found a roach in the bathroom, the tub would fill with water as we showered so we would just bathe really fast. As a first time stop and visit it was very unpleasant and I wouldn't recommend for anyone with kids as the environment looks fishy. The wifi sucked and we ended up using our phones hotspot in order to watch Netflix. My spouse couldnt work accordingly from his laptop due to this wifi issue as well so he had to call of work. The best part of my stay was really the Concert.

Do yourself a favor and order something. The balance of everything in this sandwich is perfect. Also was surprised by the fries, a real fresh potato 🥔 definitely going to keep this spot in the rotation. Great people there too!

Food was pretty good considering the price is so cheap! For $12.50 I got the bigger plate with chicken and shrimp over rice, and now I can save half for later and eat twice! Great place to save money and eat good.
