Gross. Found two dead roaches in the bathroom. Room desperately needs a thorough cleaning and updating. Thumping noise in wall. Bed linen is not fresh and clean. If you stay here bring the Lysol and a can of Raid .... or a match.
Looks like my review from a few years ago is gone so now I'm back to inform the people. Friends and I did a road trip to visit the now closed tank museum and got to the hotel around 12:30 at night. I had called ahead around 9:30 to ensure we could check in a little late and they assured us it was fine and to drive safe. Upon trying to check-in I was informed that because none of us were 21yrs old (19 back then) that my reservation wasn't valid and we couldn't stay there even if we were going straight to bed and leaving in the morning because (and I quote) "There was a lot of bad kids around here and they did a lot of damage, its against the law so if I let you stay they'd shut us down". So guess who was stranded in the middle of Virginia past midnight after a 7hr drive because of some made up law that I couldn't find. 10/10 service would drive 1/2 mile down the road to a different hotel again.
If you need a place to simply crash for a few hours, OK, it may suffice... but when I realized we had 4 nights to spend here, I really wasn't happy. Stale smoke smells filled the room. The floor was filthy; my new socks literally turned BLACK within minutes. The bathroom has unfinished paint, caulk & grout, so guaranteed there's mold behind those tub walls. There's was something yellow on the bathroom wall that "splashed" onto the blue paint, I don't even want to know what that is. The bed linens were very thin and cheap, I didn't want to touch them honestly. It just felt nasty. We left early and had to argue for a refund of the last 2 nights (he only wanted to give us 1. The policy on the door entitles us to 2 based on our situation). Just not a pleasant experience overall.
Okay so.... Was in a pinch for a concert in town so decided on this place. Let me tell you, if you're in a situation like me.. just sleep in your car. Room had beetles crawling everywhere. Mold around carpet, fridge leaked water all over. White Paint over the mold in the shower.
I will say though, the female manager was very easy and nice about giving me a full refund when I left within 10 minutes.
Absolutely terrible! Smells, not clean, water smells etc. Left in the middle of the night because it was so uncomfortable. We were just passing through and that was the only place that had a room. Should have driven a little farther to find a real hotel.
I was not expecting the Ritz Carlton and I did not get it. The Red Carpet Inn is an elderly establishment that is slowly being updated. But the three day price special and I wanted to visit friends in Danville...so why not?||||The lobby evidently was on the end of the renovation list. It was small and worn but the coffee was good and the 'good ole gal' manager seemed to be more than willing to help.||||I got a single with a giant bed and was delighted that the room was very clean with a microwave and fridge and a . really great television. The bath was for the most part fine but did have a tendency for the hot water to go instantly to freezing cold which tended to keep me alert. The towels were abundant and thick. The linen on the bed was the best with a high thread count that felt like good Egyptian cotton. The mattress was nearly wonderful.||||The internet actually functioned perfectly||||The 'remodeling had evidently started with the rooms. The morning breakfast was late getting started and sparse but the waffles were very good and were the banana and orange juice. Plus the nice manager did not yell at me when I was unable to turn off the orange juice which flooded the counter. Again the coffee was good But some cereal and milk and maybe a few rolls would have been enjoyed.||||The hotel was certainly better than some of it guests. I was there for much of a weekend. and there seemed to be a few of the drunken end of a date night group that yelled sweet nothings to each other from the balconies while discussing the exact financial terms of their date. But I found them to be kind of interesting in a local color way.||||Did I mention that the price was very reasonable???||||Would I stay their again? Sure!!! Why not??? I certainly will not forget the place very soon.
The staff were beyond accommodating and the rooms have been recently remodeled so other than some unfinished spots it was very new and renovated. This hotel is by far the best and safest for the price. The bad reviews are all old and they aren’t even owned by the same company anymore and have renovated in 2020, so many bad reviews are not accurate at all, check the dates. They have the beds covered in bedbug protective covers and everything was very clean. I think this is comparable to a $85 per night hotel because it’s definitely much better than other hotels in the $55-$75 range. I will definitely stay again probably quite often. Thank you!
Positive: Nothing really Negative: TV didn't work in room. Check in guy can barely be understood. Location is seedy. Feels like a "pay by the hour" place. Negative: ""

The front desk help was Uber friendly and gave us a great feeling for the place right off the bat. Very clean room. Bathroom was spotless. Desk available for work. Wifi worked well. Excellent experience.
Casual dining area with plenty of indoor and a couple of outdoor seating.
Walked in and was greeted by two friendly people (likely the owners).
I ordered the cajun fried catfish sandwich ($10.16) which is their best seller. Very good! I Fresh fried
I got to see the very last Flamethrower Day show: the second unplanned showing because so many people showed up that they couldn't accept everyone for the posted show...or everyone left after the first unplanned show. We got about 30 total seconds of
