Red Carpet Inn Airport / Cruise Port Fort Lauderdale - Motel in Fort Lauderdale - 2460 W State Rd 84, USA

This hotel is popular for those boarding cruises, so be warned. We were a group of seven in two rooms. The facilities are serviceable at best (one room needed to be changed for an overwhelming chemical smell (chlorine?) - but we weren't expecting much. The real problem is financial. One of our two rooms was booked through the group that owns the property (Hotel Lodging - the number was on the website) but immediately canceled (within 5 minutes) and booked, along with the second room, directly from the property. We were charged twice for that room (from Hotel Lodgings and Red Carpet Inn) and no amount of evidence made a refund possible. This has been exceptionally frustrating for a family member. No discount, no future room, nothing was offered. Think twice before booking here - there are plenty of pre/post-cruise lodgings in the area.

Great cruise/airport location. Fantastic, little food truck with lit picnic area outside. Very friendly front desk staff. Super comfy beds and pillows. Unfortunately, it was noisy, there were bugs, the bathroom wasn't clean and the floor constantly felt wet for some unknown reason. Also, we really didn't appreciate the HARD sell of transportation from the cruise to the airport on our way in to check out in the morning. He quoted $15/person (only valid until we walk out) and relentlessly "guaranteed" they were the cheapest fare, even telling us to prepare to pay "$100 to get out". We found transportation at the cruise port to FLL for $10/person. Not the best experience. ~AD

I enjoyed my overall stay. The front staff was good. The main thing that saved this location, although labeled incorrectly, was the hot WATER. The ambience was nice outside, but the inside of the room wasn't completely disappointing, but nothing to brag about. Overall cleanliness was about a 2. There were stains in A LOT surprising places. This is literally a truckers hotel.

Very dishonest, I stayed overnight at this inn on August 24th I had to make a deposit of 50 usd in addition to the cost for the room. I was told that the money would have been returned within 3 to 5 business days the receptionist even assured me that it usually takes less than the 5 days. I called this morning to follow up and now I’m being told that it will take up to 30 days and then this girl have the nerve to be giving me an attitude after they are the ones who gave me incorrect information. I need my money back please and I refuse to wait 30 days. This is unacceptable.

This hotel is super ghetto. It smells like pot. The shuttle runs once an hour on the hour. 77$ looks like a good price initially but adding the Uber twice, I would rather go to a much nicer place for still less than 100$. First time and last time here for me.

STRANGERS AT DOOR AT 4AM - ROACH INFESTATION - NO SLEEP We picked the red carpet inn due to its good price point and transfer to the airport / cruise port. I stayed here for one night on 5/24/24 the day before our cruise. The room was dirty, walked out of the shower with my feet leaving dirt tracks due to floors not being mopped. The pillows are as flat as paper, so bring your own if you like to sleep comfortably. NOW FOR THE UGLY! As it got dark the roaches came out not just one or two but they came in packs of 5 / 7 scattered all over the floor. They are large and only came out during the night. I was not able to sleep due to both the paper pillows and the idea of the roaches on the floor climbing on the bed. STRANGERS AT 4AM: As I was laying there missing out on precious sleep the night before my cruise I hear LOUD rap music right outside of my door. I think it is the room next door until I see a shadow outside of the window moving in front of my door. I look through the peep hole and see a women with pink hair blasting rap music and dancing. I am freaked out as this is 4 AM yes 4 AM. I am scared for my life as I don't know why she choose to stand in front of my door, I wake up my partner and we are both SCARED FOR OUR LIVES, to paint the picture we have a stranger blasting music outside of our door not leaving and roaches crawling all over the floor. We called the front desk and TWENTY MINUTES later she is gone (but the roaches stayed). If we did not have transfers to the cruise port I would have left at 5am. PLEASE DO NOT BE TRICKED BY THE GOOD PRICE POINT THIS PLACE IS SCARY AND DIRTY!!!!

Check-in evening May 09, 2024. Hotel room was already paid. As a deposit the receptionist deducted first 1$ from the credit card and informed me that my card does not work. However, we tried several times and finally my credit card was reserved 6x à 49$ and twice 1$ on my side, which I could show the to the Hotel. However, the Hotel told me to go and buy a gift card! As a foreign tourist I was lucky I rented a car so I could go on my way to search for a gift card shop, as they dont take cash either. I have to say, I never experienced in my life that a hotel send a customer away to go and buy a gift card. Furthermore, the young receptionist was very rude and certainly not suitable for a front desk job. Next day I spoke with the Manager and the conversation and explanation was in a normal way.

This place gets a bad rap on trip advisor. We have stayed here several times and would do it again. It's not the Hilton but its clean, comfortable safe and affordable. Free pick up from the airport and free delivery to the cruise port. The restaurant is under renovation but the food truck in the parking lot was fine for a snack and breakfast coffee.
