Recapture Lodge is a very nice inn. Made a reservation on the phone while travelling on my motorcycle, and Jim told me that the room would be open, and the key was in the room. The room was great and very quiet and peaceful, the bed was comfy. Great lobby with games, books, and lots of maps of the area. Also, has a lot of choices for breakfast foods. Ended up staying a second night! It's the only place I will stay when I come back. Thanks Jim!
The Recapture is an absolute gem in the desert. It's nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is very filling with lots of options. And best of all the owners are willing to share their huge experience with everything in the area. The breakfast room is crammed full of books and maps and guides. The pool is a delight and there is a nice 1/4 mile walk down to the San Juan River with benches to sit in to enjoy the sunset. I've stayed here many times and will always return.
Somewhat rustic, comfortable motel. All rooms face north, nice shade for sitting out front all day. Nice pool. We stay here every year for past 10 years. Nice breakfast with price of room.
We stayed at Recapture lodge when our hire car broke down in the town. We hadn't planned to stop but had a thoroughly enjoyable 3 night stay with the great hospitality and local knowledge offered by Jim and Luanne. The town has nice walks and a fascinating history as described by the town's open air museum. The breakfasts are good and plentiful and we were allowed to light a camp fire in a seating area opposite the lodging. We would highly recommend a stay here.
This place is seriously old school. Actual room keys. Tube television. The owners/managers are among the most charming and helpful people I've ever met. We're already planning to stay much longer next year.
Beds are motel 6 standard squeaky and hard and the pillows are thin rocks. Breakfast consisted of coffee and oatmeal packets with a couple of hard boiled eggs... for the price drive back to Blanding and get a good night rest
HIDDEN GEM!! The people are so nice, they were closing but because there was nothing else open when we arrived around 8pm they agreed to serve us some dinner! We each had a salad and they were both AMAZING! A must stop if youâre in the area!
Great find in the small town of Bluff, UT during our road trip through. Ended up having Thanksgiving dinner here. The smoked turkey was sold out, but we thoroughly enjoyed delicious authentic barbecue brisket with sides of stuffing, mac nâ cheese w
The Desert Rose Resort & Cabins is an oasis in Bluff, Utah. My cabin was perfect! Clean, comfortable, well appointed with everything I needed to clean up and rest after a week of camping. The bed was comfortable and the bedding soft and warm. I loved
Enjoyed our one night stay on our way through Utah. Staff was very friendly with booking and making sure we were settled in once we arrived. We enjoyed having a private restroom with showers since we travel in a camper van. The restrooms were als
I love visiting these ancient sites and looking at the Petroglyphs. This one was fairly easy to find. It is sad, though, that modern men have to try and leave their own messages over these Petroglyphs.
