Ray's Bucktown Bed and Breakfast - Featured Reviews (327)
Wish I could tell all visitors to the Windy City about this FANTASTIC place to stay! (Believe I am going to now!...keep reading...) This was our 3rd or 4th stay at Ray's...what's not to like? I love the quirky feel of the place, it's very clean, the staff is AMAZING and the breakfasts are to die for! So many choices for DELICIOUS breakfasts, not to the mention the homemade pastries & coffee no matter what time of the day should you need a snack or a cup of Joe! They even serve lunch for a price. The staff makes you feel extra special & are anxious to accommodate your every need. One could spend hours looking & reading the walls of this intriguing B&B. Another thing we enjoy, sitting with people from all over the world at breakfast! This trip we enjoyed some interesting people from Australia & other travelers from the US. You will NOT be disappointed in all aspects at this gem! Thank you all at Ray's to make our yet another visit to Chi Town memorable!|John & Camilla
What a wonderful experience! My friend and I came to Chicago to watch two baseball games and came across Ray's while looking for hotels.||I am so glad we did. The staff was super friendly, the location is great, and the service that they offer is top-notch. Our room was perfect for us, We requested a fan and they were able to provide one. Everything in the room was super clean. They have lots of miscellaneous toiletries if you forgot something as well.||If you love dogs, just sit outside on the bench. The entire neighborhood knows where to go for dog treats.||I recommend the Banana-Nutella stuffed French toast for breakfast, delicious!|Again, highly recommended, I do not plan on going back to Chicago but if I ever do, this will be the place to stay!
Quirky bed and breakfast that will have you noticing something new every time you turn around amongst the collection of art and nick nacks throughout the building and in your room. The sauna and steam room are a welcome treat after a long day sightseeing. Clean comfortable rooms. Amazing staff who make sure you want for nothing. Only negative comment is don't stay too long as the food is soooo good you'll need to diet when you get home. Especially loved the homemade cakes and snack station. I would recommend this place to anybody visiting Chicago or the surrounding areas. You're only a 15 minute stroll to the train station. Loved it.
This is our fourth trip to Chicago since 2007 and our fourth time to stay at Ray's. I wish there were a B&B like Ray's in every city. The staff is so friendly and warm and the house and adventure/museum. I cannot say enough about the food- the breakfast is to die for! healthy if you want, definitely decadant and no shamming on portions! The snacks and baked goods that are left out make it hard to "stick to your diet". This year we discovered the deck/pation on the top of the house and enjoyed being outside and watching the Air Show. The rooms are cozy and clean. The decor eclectic and fascintaing. We have stayed in a different room each time and they are all amazing. (there is excellent water pressure). It is a short walk to the train. There is a great local grogery store near by if you need something. The neighborhood is quaint. We will definitely be staying there again.
Had an absolutely perfect stay at Ray’s. Great room and the people who work there are cool af. What an amazing and unique place…the worst thing about it was having to leave. A billion out of five stars. Seeing Chicago for the first time was great enough but chatting with the staff and other guests made our trip beautiful. Thanks for the perfect stay!
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Ray's Bucktown Bed & Breakfast this past Monday night while visiting our son, and as always, it was an absolutely delightful experience. Having stayed at Ray's multiple times, I can confidently say that it is the only place we choose when visiting Chicago. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. Every detail of our stay was thoughtfully attended to, from the cozy and impeccably clean rooms to the charming decor that gives Ray's its unique character. The comfort and care that this team puts into making each guest’s stay enjoyable is evident in every aspect of the B&B. The breakfast is always a highlight, with delicious, freshly prepared dishes that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. It’s the perfect start to a day exploring the city or visiting family. Since we were leaving early Tuesday morning, they provided a bag breakfast so we can take it with us to our son's golf tournament. So thoughtful. What truly sets Ray's apart is the welcoming atmosphere. Whether it’s your first stay or you’re a returning guest, you’re treated like family. The personal touches, friendly conversations, and genuine care make each visit memorable and special. Ray's Bucktown B&B has become a home away from home for us, and we look forward to many more stays in the future. Thank you, to the team, for consistently providing such a wonderful and welcoming experience. We highly recommend Ray's Bucktown B&B to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and unique place to stay in Chicago.
Wonderful place to stay. Comfortable, interesting décor, great food, close to Blue Line L stop, super nice rooftop deck and the staff was amazing. The neighborhood was safe and we felt comfortable walking back after a night on the town. We'll be going back and recommending Ray's to family & friends!
This was my first time staying at Ray's and my dear friend and I had a blast. Our lovely and dedicated hosts literally thought of everything possible during our stay. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were squeaky clean and the food was most delicious. We spent hours on their rooftop garden enjoying great conversation and tea. This was such a gem and we can't wait to return. The two managers; Cat and Ashley are on top of their game and do such an excellent job. Thanks to Ray's for a fantastic weekend in Chicago. We can't wait to return!
Amazing Italian Villa in a great location! We had a wonderful stay from the welcome wine in the beautiful kitchen stocked with many yummy food items and delicious local coffee to our private, comfy âVenetianâ suite. Don was very accommodating
My son absolutely loves LifeTough Kids Boxing. He is in his second session, now in intermediates and we canât wait to see where the next level takes him. The coaches are absolutely incredible and the time and dedication they put towards the kids
In Chicago and stopped by this place. Grand opening for them. Wonderful people with a great spirit overall. Had a chance to dive into the whole thing of coffee coming from Ethiopia after meeting their African-American roaster of coffee. Lovely time -
I'm writing this review after taking a full year of classes at Vibez. Initially, I bought class packs and then signed up for the monthly membership (8 classes a month) once I knew it was a good fit. Over the course of 2023, I lost more than 20 pounds
Ive been coming to the Garage Gym heavy AF classes for 6 weeks now and absolutely love them! I was previously just doing one class a week and purchased the five pack, but I decided to move forward with a membership to start going multiple times a wee
I recently joined CrossFit Park Ridge and hands down, best choice Iâve made. Very warm and welcoming community. Workouts are challenging and never boring. And coaches are great! My only regret is not joining sooner. If youâre ready and serious a

This apartment was a great find for us. We had 4 adults and 5 kids and had plenty of space to fit us all comfortably. Importantly for our group the kitchen is well equipped - there have been many places we've stayed where there aren't enough bowls an
I tell all my friends who visit Chicago, or move there to check out Fly Club. The instructors are top-tier and it's a privilege to have so much talent in one facility. The spaces are beautiful, and the community is very welcoming. Even if you're a gu
We love Cafe Calida so much. We came here our last two mornings of our trip and regretted not coming earlier. Great menu with delicious pastries. My husband got a mocha and I got a Chai latte and they were both so delicious. Our first morning we came
Pizza was great. I love this style of pizza. Itâs a great place for a low key date night. Prices were extremely reasonable, especially for the quality. It is a family run business, the family has 2 generations of pizza making experience. Itâs a s
