The most amazing experiences can be had with friends here. We saw monkeys, manatees, snakes, alligators, birds, and fish in the wild. Yes that’s right, wild monkeys. Come see them!!! Don’t get too close though! Super wonderful place.
This was a great experience, I brought my own kayak and decided to go up the spring to flow back down. ( it appeared there were kayak rentals at the Silver Spring part with a shuttle that takes you and the rented kayak back up stream) It did take most of the day with the current but it was such a pleasant time. great pictures overall and we were able to see the Monkeys in the afternoon when it was more overcast - it may have been too hot in the morning with the sun out.
Before going upstream we went down to see where the spring meets the river and that was a very cool sight. I would absolutetly love to go here again.

RVs can park here free. Boat ramp convenient & can see the monkies about mile 4 down river to the right! My favorite part of entire Glorida trip! More baby gates, cool birds, turtles & manatees than any other spring we went to in FL in February.
Absolutely love this place! Well maintained and easy access points to kayak. We typically see manatees, monkeys, turtles, birds, and gators along our paddle. Each time we go out we have never seen any trash in the water - which is great and so refreshing.
Since moving to Ocala in 1998, I've been to this park many many times over the years. Always clean and lots of nature to enjoy including the monkeys. Easy boat launch here as well as easy kayak launching!
This place is magical. I was so captivated by how beautiful it was. Perfect for kayaking, paddleboards or boats. There is even glass boat rides. Even has great fishing! It's part of silver springs and my new favorite place ever.
Great launch site! We launched from here, paddled upstream the 5.3 miles to the spring head. The paddle was pretty easy, but the current did pick up on a few places. Then easy return. Lots of wildlife.

The Silver Springs Forest Conservation Area is a 4,900-acre wildlife management area located in Marion County, Florida, just minutes away from Ocala. The area was purchased in 2015 to protect water resources and natural areas close to Silver Springs.
I only went up the oklawaha bye boat to the dam. Heard it was blocked and impassable. Not the case though, beautiful as always. There are definitely some changes and make sure you trim the motor up around the trees because there's a couple of hidden
