This place is top notch! We can here after being turned away at another place since they weren’t able to accommodate even with reservations! We were a party of 10 and everyone was seated promptly and we were all able to order food came out quick and hot! Everything was delish! Everything ate everything! Here are pics of the country crepes and the chicken fried steak! Amazing service and amazing food! Thank you for having us!

Went in for dinner, had about a 20minute wait which wasn’t much of an issue as most restaurants in town have some sort of wait for dinner. Atmosphere is mildly crowded so they can get the tables closer together, it’s pretty decent. The food tho is just average. Ordered the sausage sampler and it came out as what looked like maybe a half sausage of each flavor sliced up with some cubed cheese. A few sautéed veggies under all that but they are barely worth mentioning. The cheese was pretty bland, the mustard made the sausage okay, but nothing but average. The red cabbage was good tho, only ordered it because of another reviewer mentioning it. The peach bread pudding was decent but also pretty doughy. It’s not a bad place but I also don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Indulging in the culinary delights at this restaurant is truly an experience beyond compare. The beignets are a heavenly delight, and the German sausage is a savory symphony of flavors. The friendly service adds a warm touch, making you feel right at home. Tula, the owner, takes pride in sharing dishes inspired by her grandmother, infusing each bite with a sense of tradition and love. A visit to this place is a culinary journey where history meets gastronomy, and I recommend delving into the building's rich history for an extra layer of appreciation. It's a must-visit gem!

The meal was great. Service was a little slow but that's mainly because our server was in the weeds, so I'll excuse that. She was great though. The only reason I gave four stars was simply because it was so loud, we could hardly talk to one another. Again, that might be due to how packed the place was. They really can't do anything about the sound since they are in a basement and the sound can't be absorbed by anything. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely come back.

This has always been one of my favorite spots in Fredericksburg, and it may always be. Tonight, I had my go-to. A Jagerschnitzel and my wife got the cornmeal fried catfish. As always, it was great and tasted like a traditional schnitzel, and the German potato salad and red cabbage were great. The atmosphere does kinda tricks the mind and makes you feel as if you are in an old German town with the only thing missing is the constant chatter of the German language. The only downside I had was that the waitress forgot my beer, but they are pretty busy tonight, so I'm not going to hold that against them. In all, it's a pretty good experience.

Talk about a fabulous place. The staff had smiles and are delightful people. Our food came out hot and fresh. And every thing was mouth watering delicious. I literally want to lick off the plates. Our server Ismael was the best.

The service here was really good. They don't have fountain sodas so if you order a soda it's going to come in a can. The food was okay.

Best German food I’ve had in Fredericksburg! Delicious deserts and very homey atmosphere. I enjoyed the customer service, friendly and attentive people :) Rathskeller you are my new favorite for my day trips to Fredericksburg! This place is also full of history! As strange as that sounds this used to be a hospital in the good old days and the basement where the restaurant is used to be the morgue!
