R&D Cocktail Bar - Cocktail bar in Philadelphia - 1206 Frankford Ave, USA

My friends and I heard so many good things about R&D, and it did not dissappoint! Vibes were elegant but casual, drinks were diverse and we enjoyed everything we tried. It's everything you expect from a trendy cocktail bar. Sweet interior, great cocktail menu (whoever designed it-- I love you frfr it's so cute to look at!) and I can imagine this place being perfect for dates, celebration, or friends wanting to enjoy a night bar hopping. Every drink was fun and provided something different for us in both flavor and aesthetic. The service was fantastic and we never had to wait long for another round. We would have stayed longer, but we were there on a night where the kitchen was closed.

Incredible, high quality cocktails! Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but the attention to detail and presentation is what makes it worth it. Our server was extremely attentive and made sure to top off our water frequently. We ordered numerous drinks throughout the night (probably tried half the menu) and were not disappointed with any of them. I look forward to returning!

A little fancy for me, but the room is beautiful, it reminds me a bar that would be on a spaceship, I don't why! The cocktails are intricate, and tasty, but u can also have a small but decent beer list. Was there on a Sat, and they had a DJ spinning.

Our server was excellent and so nice! The cocktails are out of this world & the ambiance was so cool and sexy. I honestly have never had better service. Def put this place on your list!

Went during HH and both the menu items I wanted weren’t available. Will try to go again. The menu is cool on the CDs, reminds me of some Wynwood/Miami Beach stuff.

Went to r&d on a rainy Friday with a few friends. We sat at the bar witch was super cute and the staff was really friendly. I got the Baja blast margarita. Which was just a blue marg didn’t taste like baha from Taco Bell lol There menu is a calendar with drinks as the photos. I thought that was super creative and fun to go threw. The atmosphere is really nice and calm. I highly recommend for a date night or just hanging out with some friends to try some fancy cocktails. Will definitely be back.

Tried 3 different menu cocktails and thought they were just ok, not super impressive but many people seem to like them so maybe its just my personal taste. Nonetheless, I loved the intimacy of the ambiance and chill vibe and dj. I didn’t encounter rudeness, in fact bartenders were attentive. Great spot to catch up with a couple friends for a little while.

This place has really gone down hill. Pre-pandemic days, it was low key and trendy. The cocktails were good, the staff was friendly, and they had eclectic collection of 90s rap music which they often played. I used to tell all my friends about this bar. I haven't been back in awhile, and tried to go there last night with a party of 3. We checked in with the host, and they were incredibly rude. They said that they didn't have a table and it would be a 30 minute wait. When we peered at the bar to find a spot, they quickly barked that there's no room at the bar. They did not offer to let us know when a spot would open up. When we tried to put our names down, the host said they didn't take names or numbers, only that they remembered faces and we had to wait outside (in the cold) for 30 minutes. It was incredibly off putting, and I will not be going back. I also will not be recommending this bar to others.
