Holy mole! What an experience. I am so happy we found this place! This little unassuming location in a not so fancy shopping center has the best food I've had in a long time. It was so good I scarfed it down before I even got a photo on my next trip which won't be long I will be taking lots of photos the place is clean the staff is incredibly friendly helpful and caring this is kind of like going to that Mexican home away from home. Being from Texas, I'm not really used to having any kind of good customer service in California. but there are those rare examples of great customer service, and this is one of them. I highly recommend this place if for no other reason the food, but this is the total package... It's been a while a few trips back, still loving the place. My wife totally loves the tortas, and I am totally addicted to the Ranas! I would highly recommend this place if you're anywhere in the area worth the drive

Ranas was a pleasant treat located in Spring Valley. My friend mentioned this spot and it hit the spot for breakfast. I ordered the rajas con huevos as well as the pambazo that had chorizo and potatoes. The flavors for the pambazo really popped and hit all the right notes. The rajas con huevos was also delicious and tasted fresh. The customer service was great, the seating area was clean and the patio area was a nice bonus as well. I will definitely be back! Eat up!!!

Ranas is the best! The food is so great; the people are so nice; and the drinks are cheap and delicious. The tricolor mole enchiladas (see picture below) are fantastic—really complex flavors. And the pambazo is a torta meets a wet burrito; they’re my favorites.

I really like this restaurant food is tasty and they have good options to choose from (not to big not to small). Service is fast and attention is on a different level. They took care of us as soon we walked through the door. Staff is very friendly and courteous. One of the owners was there and we make sure that we were confortable and that food was perfect for us; Flavor and temperature. I was recommended to this place by someone and I don’t regret coming here! I definitely recommend this place as well and I must come back to try their famous margaritas and their Amazing selection of beverages during happy hour. They even have pulque a traditional Mexican alcohol drink. Keep it up guys ! Thank you for such a good experience.

Best Mexican food that I've had in awhile. Service was outstanding. We had a group of 20, but got the attention like a single 4 top. Recommendations were spot on. Beer selection is wider than just Mexican beers. Several micro brews on tap, even a delicious pineapple cider. I highly recommend Ranas. Everyone in my party left full and satisfied. Five stars do not give them justice.

Delicious authentic Mexican food & great service! I found this place by chance and after trying their menu, I fell in love!!. They have tasty breakfast plates with pancakes and waffles, and your typical Mexican breakfast: chilaquiles, huaraches, tacos, and soups. Their cafe de olla is delicious!!

Update 12/30/2017. Food an service are great as always but prices are high on some dishes. One example is the Green mole chicken for 20.00 is a bit excessive in my mind. Older Reviews: My wife being from Mexico City absolutely loves this place. I like watching here enjoy all of the food that she remembers from the time she lived over there. We drive all the way from Chula Vista whenever we have a chance

Good customer service. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was very tasty. We had red, green, and chipotle chilaquiles. Beware red is spicy 🌶️.
