Ramada Limited Clearwater Hotel and Suites - Featured Reviews (225)
We rented a room on the second floor for a family of 6. We had two mattresses and a pull out couch. Cleanliness was decent as we did not find anything disturbing or gross. The pullout couch was not comfortable at all, but the mattresses were okay. Overall it's a very average hotel at best and if you intend on using it as just a place to sleep then it passes.
We had to attend a wedding in Clearwater, FL so we booked a room for one night's stay since we drove from Fort Myers, FL (over 2.5 hrs.) The hotel was easy to find, but the actual name of it is Ramada Limited Suites. At first the room looked fine, but upon closer inspection, it was not thoroughly cleaned. I mean obvious dust and missed details like edges of carpets, and most importantly - after walking around the room bare-footed the bottoms of our feet were black! OK. Bad. But, to top it off, the people staying above us were having an all-night fight, slamming their hotel and car doors so not much sleep! Also, it seems people "live" there from week to week. I know sometimes you have to do what you have to do to survive, but all-night activity was obvious and questionable. As for the pool, it appeared dirty, but we sat by it at night. They have a really cool-looking hot-tub next to the pool with a flowing waterfall-type "fountain" but it smelled heavily like chlorine. Although the front desk personnel were very friendly, I'm sorry but I would not stay there again. At $99/night.
We took a spontaneous trip to the beach. Not too far from the beach. Last minute booking. This room looked ok in the pictures. Did not look like the pics at all. Beds were unconfortable, ceiling had cracks, and the window had a crack too. Rooms could use some work. But the front desk was nice.
The pool was very nice. The room was nasty. It smelled and the bathroom sink was clogged. Very poor lighting in the room. The bathroom had a hole in the wall patched but never painted. It seemed to be a welfare motel. Alot of riff raff hanging Round. The smell of marijuana could knock you out eventide you walked outside. I would not recommend this run down motel.
This is currently called Econo Lounge. Shady characters randomly hanging outside their rooms is not an inviting sight on the way to your room. But we had no issues while we were there except our hot water in our shower kept randomly scolding us. The rooms looked cleaned upon entering. The locks on the door looked like they were broken into and/or changed often. There was a pool and a hot tub. The hot tub had a lot of leaves in it but the jets worked and it had a waterfall. There were 2 cops in the driveway on the Sunday morning we woke up attending to a domestic dispute. I wouldn't say I'd go here again but it was ok for just one night while passing through. No free breakfast at all. There was a hair dryer, mini fridge, microwave and coffee and coffee pot in the room though. The heat and air wall unit worked just fine. Limited parking too if you check in late.
Do not stay in this hotel, it was the nastiest hotel room I've ever stayed in. We had been driving for about 16 hours on this day and needed a place to stay in Clearwater. I thought that since it was a Ramada it would be ok. The first red flag was that the front desk clerk was asleep on the couch in the lobby. The room was priced reasonably, so we got a room. Upon entering I immediately noticed a musty, dirty smell to the room. I turned on the A/C, which was very loud. It happened to have been an 85 degree day, so our room was very hot, and despite running the A/C all night it never did cool down much. I noticed that everything looked really dirty and old (old floor tiles, dirty/moldy grout, etc.) We did check for bed bugs and found no evidence of them, but there was alot of dirt, hair, dust, etc in between the mattresses. It was gross. The curtains also had dust caked in between folds. We were so tired from driving all day that we stayed...we should have left. The bed & pillows were not comfortable at all. When we checked out, they had added a $1.25 "Safe Warranty" fee. I asked what it was for and the clerk said it was for using the room safe. I told her I did not use the safe (which by the way was an unanchored small locked box sitting on top of the luggage rack which I could have easily picked up an removed from the room.) She acted a little offended that I wanted the charges removed, but she did remove them. I will never stay at another Ramada again. Corporate should really look into this particular hotel that bears their name.
We arrived and asked for an inexpensive room and were told that the cheapest was $120. When we looked like we were going to leave we were offered a room for $90 that we were told was non-smoking. My wife and I checked into our "non-smoking room" which smelled like cigarettes and spent 45 minutes catching up on work emails we had neglected during our full day of driving. We went back down to the front desk to ask for a refund and were told that we had waited too long and were offered only $10 of refund if we were to check out immediately. The management of this hotel seems so hell-bent on making a dollar that customer service and integrity are overlooked. I had much higher expectations for a Ramada.
This hotel worried us at first with the reviews posted. But we stayed the night last minute because of its location and price. The rooms were clean...we got 2...and both were clean. We had to leave at 5am to get to our flight and I lost my phone in the process of trying to get to the airport. We notified the hotel and they quickly turned the room upside-down to find it buried in the bed...then rushed it to the airport before our flight left! I don't care what review was left previously this is above and beyond customer service. Hospitality 5 star!

Wonderful experience at this incredibly CLEAN hotel. We stayed only overnight to catch a very early morning flight. The rooms were immaculate, lots of towels, and plenty of space for us. I heard minimal noise, even though we were outside of a freeway
As a club member, this is our first experience at this location. The resort is beautiful. It has a robust gym for being a hotel/resort.
