Ramada by Wyndham Newburgh/West Point - Featured Reviews (923)
Very disappointed. Checked in at main desk that was surrounded by glass like a gas station in a bad neighborhood. Security guards inside sitting around. Several men hanging around parking lot. One person begged for “singles”. My family did not feel safe. Room was very dated and furniture looked worn out. Bathroom sink didn’t work well and sink handle spun completely around – faucet probably needs replacement. TV had poor channel selection – no cable news channels – cumbersome to select a channel. The pool was closed. No breakfast served. Surprised that first floor was not one flat level – you climbed 3 steps and walked a few steps past a room, then 3 more steps to more rooms, and so on. Won’t be back.
The location is super convenient. Front desk fellow was very nice. However, this place seems to also be some kind of halfway house or refugee camp. There were 5 security personnel in main lobby. Room was large and bed comfy. All was ok until I went to make coffee and there were roaches all over it. I ran out of there as fast as I could. Stop renting to paying customers if it’s going to be a refugee camp as well. I don’t have an issue with the people that were staying there but I had no clue. Stupid of me not to check google reviews before booking. Also there was no free breakfast anywhere as it states in the listing.
We booked this hotel without looking it up on Tripadvisor first. What a mistake. We needed last minute accommodations for a football game at West Point. We had no idea how bad this place is. The lobby was dirty and the attendant sat behind a shelter you would find at a gas station. There was also some type of other business desk setup in the lobby but I never did discover what that was. The room smelled like an ash tray (despite 'no smoking' signs, the sink bowl had repaired cracks in it. The tub a rusted ring around the drain. NOTHING in the room/hotel felt clean. We saw bugs in the bedroom, bathroom, and sitting area in our room. You can not relax in this place. ||After reading the reviews (before typing mine) I see it was/is a shelter for asylum seekers. Nothing good or bad--just something to note and the quality of the hotel.
If you are just traveling, READ THIS.
This Hotel is currently being used to house immigrants and homeless for DSS. Police were outside the night I was here. Security was at almost every entrance (who I got the information from). The rooms are adequate and serve their purpose. Be aware, there will be people walking around at all hours of the night. The front is under renovation with no signage directing you how to enter. There is no free breakfast. The pool is closed until further notice. The restaurant is closed. Signage posted around the property even forbids alcohol consumption on the premises. While this wasn't an issue for me, it makes me shudder to think what a weekend is like here.
Best advice I can give is to book elsewhere.
This place is a homeless shelter. Don't let anyone try and convince u otherwise. I stayed at this place for almost three nights during these nights outside in the halls kids would treat it like it was the streets. And leave their trash just lying around. There's a gym here but it's hidden upstairs I'd give u directions to find it but genuinely IDK how I did. We left before I could use the gym but I think the only thing that worked in it was the treadmill. So just a treadmill room really. No breakfast. No shows or whatever else they promote. U will get a room that is sorta clean but besides that nothing else really. My best suggestion to this place is to renovate it or bulldoze it to the ground.
Used as a Homeless shelter. Very run down, horrible smell. Couches and chairs stained with body fluids. At least there were 3 security people in the lobby. Shower head was moldy. No food available. Just drive farther and stay at a legitimate hotel.
The room was absolutely filthy. There was flies everywhere, it smelled like there hasn’t been airflow in years and my sheets were marked with spots. On top of that, every hall was had a security officer roaming around, and 3 security guards were placed at the entrance. It definitely made me question the safety of the hotel, as a young female by herself. My hallway had 3 chairs placed outside a room with trash all around it. It was truly a disgusting sight.|The wrong desk employee was nice enough to at least cancel my room for tomorrow, but he was not willing to cancel tonight’s room. I was charged $193. I’m attaching a picture of my invoice as well as some impressions.
Only joined a few weeks ago and Iâm already hooked ! The coaches are amazing , the members are so welcoming and motivating. Such a great group of people at every class time. I actually enjoy and look forward to working out now. Worth every penny !
