Raleigh General Hospital - General hospital in Beckley - 1710 Harper Rd, USA

From Aug 6 until Aug 9 2024 my 79 yo husband was hospitalized for emergency kidney stent surgery. Our time spent on 4 North, Room 450 was remarkable considering the circumstances! In particular I want to commend Shannon for her outstanding & exceptional care. Her positive energy & attitude makes everyone around her happy! Shannon exemplifies the most caring, cordial, professional, compassionate & efficient nurse we have had the pleasure of meeting in 45 years! The Cooks

My visit to the ER was a great experience. My communication was poor yet it was quite noticeable though busy it was a quiet and professional atmosphere. Registration was very empathetic to those who presented. Triage, CT, ER staff and Physician were top notch also showing care and concern.

Before we even entered the ER, a young lady who was taking a break helped get my friend into a wheelchair and into the ER. The receptionist who checked my friend in was very kind and efficient. Within a few minutes my friend was taken back to Triage where her history and vitals were taken. Even though they were extremely busy, a very nice young PA named Scott Bailey came not long afterward and examined my friend, listened to her problems, and decided on a course of action which seemed very appropriate. Soon after that, staff came to perform the tests ordered. We waited about an hour for the results of X-rays and CT scans which I considered an exceptionally short wait especially considering how busy they were and understaffed I heard. Mr. Bailey talked about the results, gave my friend instructions, and then she was discharged less than four hours after we had arrived. I was very impressed with the entire ER process. A special thank you to nurse Billie who was so kind to both of us. And thank you to everyone who made this a five star experience.

I’m son had appt at 12:30 for a 20 min procedure. He still was sitting there at 4:15 without being seen. So he has went without food or water for 17 hours. Dr Paine is a joke. Would not recommend her to anyone. One more thing. No paper towels in the bathrooms. So much for hand washing

I received very prompt and thorough care. The Doctors, Nurses, and staff were all very caring and attentive throughout my entire stay. They considered all of my symptoms and nothing was ignored. I received top notch treatment. I would highly recommend!!!!

This is the worst hospital I've ever been to. I took my husband here for a simple ultrasound and in order to be seen we had to answer 10+ questions that had nothing to do with medical care. After that we waited over 2 hours to be seen and people who came in after us were being seen before. His appointment was at 8:30 and we didn't leave until 10:30 which made us late for work. This hospital is a joke.

I wish I could give negative stars, this place is such a joke, no one cares about anything in the E.R. This is truly the worst hospital in WV, we will not be back, unless we are bleeding out with no other choice. Just pitiful! We have been her for over 5 hours, 3 of which waiting on an X-ray and 2 waiting on someone to read them, we are still waiting. If someone has something life threatening, you better go somewhere else if you care about your life. Also, I do not want your disingenuous automated response. You as the owner of Raleigh General Hospital are a total p.o.s. for how the ppl, our families are treated here ... To you ppl are just numbers and money signs, you have grown numb to humanity.

My grandmother visited. They had wonderful care, and took very good care of her. She was in step down in ED and spoke very highly of Cody, Karen, and Melissa. She was very impressed with how well she was taken care of, and we really loved that they made sure she got all of the meds she left at home.
