Quality Suites NYC Gateway - Hotel in North Bergen - 1200 Tonnelle Ave, USA

The rooms were ok. There is ample parking We were able to obtain Ubers very quickly no matter where we were looking to go. There is a shuttle that goes into the city, however we did not take it. It is quite run down dirty carpeting ,chunks out of the woodwork etc. do not count any free breakfast. You will get less than you got in the brown bag during the pandemic. They didn't have any fruit, any yogurt, any juice, they did have cold cereal provided you can tolerate whole milk as it was the only choice. Front desk was okay to me but was rather nasty to some other travelers. If you can't find a room, it is not horrible but definitely not worth that price.|

The room we stayed had a small kitchen section in the foyer.It had very bad garbage smell in the kitchen area along with strong cleaner spray smell in the whole room. The cleaner smell was so strong and upsetting. I could still smell it in my cloth even several days after returning home.

Absolutely horrible experience. Hotel is full with families who live and work there. When I requested for a room change, I could see staff moving their stuff from the room they would assign me to another room. They roaming all over and go into guest rooms for fun. It is a complete mess. Highly recommended pay a little more but live in comfortable environments. This was a horrible experience overall.

The hotel is pretty rough. The hallway and our room smelled strongly of mildew, old basement, and my high school locker room. Staff had worked hard to cover up the smell with strong perfumes (I can still smell it on my luggage and clothes after we have returned home). Our TV didn't work and the receptionist never showed-up as promised to fix it. Breakfast was fresh, though all wheat (every single item was wheat based) even though there were pretty pictures of fruit on the wall. Staff is very nice and hard working - they do the best they can with the hand they are dealt. They have the place as clean as is possible. This hotel sits right on a busy highway. We found a delightful diner (Coach Diner) up the hill, about a 10 minute walking workout, and there is a bus stop up right next to it (on JFK).

Oh where to start? This place should be condemned! On the walkthrough you see how the pictures on the website do not match what they show. This place is old and in a horrible location. Upon check-in I asked the guy if they have free coffee and he said” ya but it’s old!” Walking the room you see the carpet is ripped up and what looks like someone had tried breaking into the room we were going to stay. The door was chipped and cracked where the lock is. Also it was about 87 degrees in the hallways. We get in the room and it looks like it’s from the 80s and there’s screws sticking out of the bathroom floor, door knobs are shaking (about to fall off), exposed wires at one of the outlets next to sofa. Shower has rust and cracking around drain. And to top it off I was woken up at 5am because the water pipes are banging and clanging just to notice a baby roach is sitting in the shower! (Explains why there’s fresh calking all over the room. It’s means they had a roach problem and instead of exterminating it they think they can seal them behind the walls. WORST NIGHT OF “REST” I will never stay here or at a choice hotel again! I would advise anyone else to do the same. This place is not worth $175 / night. De l'eau coulait du plafond de la salle de bain probablement à cause d'une fuite d eau provenant de la salle de bain de la chambre de l'étage supérieur. La direction devait être au courant puisqu’une réparation hasardeuse semblait avoir été faite avec une demi plaque de polystyrène collée au plafond avec la présence de moisissures (drôle de façon de réparer une fuite d'eau).||De plus, j’avais choisi une chambre avec une cuisinette, mais il n’y avait aucun ustensile pour cuisiner : même pas une assiette ou une casserole ! Le petit déjeuner n'était vraiment pas à la hauteur des attentes de base : pas de jus de fruits, pas d'œuf, pas de yogourt : juste du pain et du café dilué ! Et enfin, le personnel du soir à notre arrivée n'était pas accueillant. Je pourrais vous parler également de la désuétude de la chambre, mais je vais arrêter là.||J'avais réservé une autre journée pour le trajet de retour de mon voyage : je suis plutôt allé dans un autre hôtel.

They definitely need a pest control. We had a rat in the room and nothing was done about it. They have this weird thing where their entire staff is out by 9 except one person at the reception. The rooms and the hotel, otherwise were fairly clean. The location is excellent. They also have this shuttle twice a day that will drop you to Times Square for $10. Breakfast was good. But I can't repeat this place after this experience unfortunately.

We checked out today from here. Our stay at Quality Suites NYC Gateway was absolutely fantastic! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, accommodating all of our requests with a smile. Their wonderful service truly enhanced our experience and made us feel right at home. The location of the hotel was perfect, with easy access to New Jersey Metro stations, making our commute to NYC a breeze—just a quick 30-minute ride. Being able to explore the city while staying in a comfortable and convenient hotel was a major plus. I can't wait to visit again and will definitely choose Quality Suites NYC Gateway for my next trip. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch hotel experience in the area.
