Quality Inn South Hill I-85 - Hotel in South Hill - 918 E Atlantic St, USA

I stayed at this hotel on August 9, 2024-August 12,2024 for my family reunion. this is how the room looked when I checked in on Friday night. I had to request cleaning supplies from the front desk because nobody cleaned this room. I couldn’t change my room because they were booked, so I spoke with management on that Monday and they told me I would be refunded for one night. As a customer, that’s a slap in my face. They refunded me for only one night, my room number was #213. Do NOT stay at this hotel because this may be the results you get when staying. They wouldn’t refund me money for the whole weekend. The room smelled like smoke and I have respiratory issues. This is sad how I was treated at this hotel.

I stayed at this motel for the 4th of July Holiday. I have stayed here many times. I will never stay at this hotel again. The first problem was I asked to be in a room in the front and bottom floor. I was put in the back in room 122. The first thing I noticed is the smell of smoke in a non-smoking room, cigaret burns on the bath tub. The sink was stopped up. The ceiling in the bathroom was in bad repair. I see a cockroach on the couch.

We stayed there this weekend, Friday night, Saturday night when we checked in and went to the room on Friday the air condition did not work. They moved us to another room and the door would not lock from the outside. If you shut the door, it would not lock the lady. She said she would have it fixed. She never did the room smelt like weed all the day Carpet was torn ripped in 119 The carpet was so bad you had to leave your socks on to walk on the floor. It was so nasty. What a horrible experience there and will not go back.

I have been staying at this hotel when traveling to see family for over 30 years which is prior to the current owner. Upon arrival, the non smoking room smelled of smoke and change of room was not possible due to being booked. The room was dated with holes in the wall from prior decor being on the wall. The shower knob just spins making it a task to regulate the shower. The Continental Breakfast area was dirty with garbage on counter. Garbage may be on counter because you must use your hands to open lid of garbage can. We I asked who cleans the Breakfast area it was not her she states and the guests who were using the area made a mess. Usage raises the tasks of cleaning regularly. The county or state building and health inspector need to visit this location. The South Hill Chamber of Commerce needs to address these concerns as a business like this is not a good look for them. This trip ends the tradition of staying at the hotel.

This is my second stay here and the first time I was really impressed. I'm in an electric wheelchair and the whole staff was overly friendly and helpful. The first room I was in we found out didn't have a way for me to get off and take my service dog and the staff would help me take her out and then moved me to another room. I was there for a few days and they would come by periodically and check on me and I thought that was totally above and beyond their job description. When I left I came back a few days later and then I will be here for at least a week this stay. Everyone I came into contact with has been a pure blessing to me. I would recommend this place to anyone.

A good cleaning of the premises is needed. The stairway smelled of urine in the back. Standard room. Breakfast included.

Smells like pot, cigarettes and bad water smell. Definitely a $45 a night kind of hotel. I’ve stayed all over the country and asking $100 after taxes for this place is crazy. No deadbolt. Loud people in the parking lot late at night. Will never stay here again, I’ll sleep in my car

The staff was wonderful. I want to give a Big appreciation to the following people, Thelma, Ernestine, Sharon, Debra, Terrance, Britnni, and many others that I didn't get their names. I came here in an electric wheelchair and the batteries died so I was stuck here until the repair man came. I had no problems to report other than the internet kept going out which was not their fault 😒 🙃 I had my room cleaned every time I requested it and Ernestine done it very well and so did the other young lady that I didn't get her name.
