Quality Inn Savannah I-95 - Hotel in Savannah - 17007 Abercorn St, USA

Guy behind the counter was very nice. Location was off I-95 and next to a Cracker Barrel. I was able to get a bottom floor and park right outside my door, since I was moving and all my possessions were in my truck this added to my peace of mind. They offer free breakfast too which is nice, TBH expected from these type of motels. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and shower was nice and hot. Room also has a mini-fridge and microwave which was nice.

Beware... The home page and online info is outdated!!! The day staff is friendly, BUT the late shift/early morning clerk is NOT. I asked to please get a cup of coffee so that I could get to work, and she refused to let me, stating that I could not get coffee until breakfast at 6 am. It was 5:58!!!!! When reviewing the hotel online, they list amenities, including a pool. The pool is closed and apparently has been for some time, as the pool chairs are broken and in horrible condition. The hotel itself is clean, and the rooms and bathrooms are sizeable. The refrigerator is large with a freezer, and parking is readily available. The bed is very old and worn, making sleeping and waking rather uncomfortable. My sink has a broken stopper, so I had to use my drain screen, just to be sure nothing fell down in there! All in all, if I weren't so lazy, I'd have moved to the Howard Johnsons right next door (where I usually stay), but once I've unpacked, I just don't feel like relocating rooms, let alone locations, no matter how close. I stayed here because it's a Choice Hotel, but I will have to seriously reconsider ever staying making this choice again.

The management of the Savannah Quality Inn I-95, Albercorn, has successfully imported all the sleazy 3rd World business practices and shoddy amenities familiar to me from my days as a hippie-stoner traveler in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan in the 1970’s. 🐶x2 The business appears to be intentionally set up to double charge you for your pet. In my case a $20 pet fee when I booked the reservation through Quality Inn for a “pet friendly room” and then again a second $20 pet fee demanded by the front desk when I checked in. They also demanded a $100 (refundable) fee for “incidentals”. None of these charges were disclosed during the call when I made our reservation. The desk refused to give me a key until I provided payment for the surprise overcharges. 👎🏿👎🏿 Calling their “support line” for resolution was useless. 🧟🏿‍♂️ It will get you to a Babu who is probably a relative of the foul, ignorant woman at the front desk. You are advised that he cannot help you because he too is ignorant of how much you paid for the booking. 🤡👎🏿 The room featured indoor-outdoor carpeting that seemed mostly outdoor and damp. The drain in the sink had the classic 3rd World hair clog and the AC sounded like a generator kicking on and off. It belched out cold, dank, musty wind through the balmy Georgia night. 👎🏿👎🏿 All that was missing from this nostalgic, bad acid trip flashback to 1970s Pakistan were a few bed bug bites. They should work on that – a simple fix.

This hotel is being renovated May 2024 - the elevator was not working - the supposed to be completed floor was the 3rd floor - had to walk up 3 flights of stairs - the hallway was filled with sheetrock dust and still had plastic coverings - the room smelled like calk and glue - it was renovated but looked like the finishing work was rushed. Asked for money back which they did. Always ask if hotel is being renovated when completed.

Positive: The location was good, beds were comfortable, and it had been updated. Negative: The breakfast had very few food items and choices. It was a disappointment. It could have been cleaner and carpets needed a deep clean. Negative: ""

The bed was very comfortable, the linens were fresh and the shower was hot and fairly forceful. The Breakfast was more than adequate with numerous options including bacon and sausage. The room clean and the air conditioner worked well, that’s all we needed.

Upon arrival I requested a 1st floor unit they put me on the 2nd unit 213 floor my room had mold coughed all night asked again for a 1st floor unit transfered me to 203 A/C not working properly cold/hot breakfast is horrible biscuits and gravy everyday day 4 went to fill my mug with juice maintenance man said I can't do that and I explained to him I don't eat biscuits and gravy something has to give very unprofessional 4 days and I have seen many folks leave the first level unit and i have not been accommodated I will never stay at this location again I can go on but you get the picture I'm just here for work they say they have a pool it was closed my whole stay and it's feels like 106 degrees here in savannah ga they say no smoking but room 201 and 202 the owners cooking in the rooms guess they unplugged their smoke alarms code enforcement needs a call

Inconveniences: no USB ports, microwave oven not plugged in, sink stopper needs adjustment to avoid water from filling up the sink, room door hard to open and close because the lock protrudes beyond the edge of the door. Water pressure and temperature and bed very good,
