Quality Inn Grand Rapids North - Hotel in Walker - 2171 Holton Ct NW, USA

Pictures do not look like the actual place, the entrance sign is falling down and has a little graffiti on it, the indoor sign behind the front desk the "Q" in "quality" is falling off...which pretty much sums up our cancelled Quality Inn hotel experience. The key card entry door to the outside is broken (someone could get in there without a key), hallways smelled like cigarettes and weed, beds are hard (mattress is on a metal slatted bunk-bed like base and slid around), sheets and blankets were stained, a few of the pillowcases had what looked like little food particles on them. Handprints (maybe other body part prints?) on the headboard), I stay in a lot of more budget hotels, but have never cancelled and opted to drive a few hours home instead. If you're by yourself, or you and whoever you're sleeping with don't mind a hard mattress and all of the above, go for it. Would NOT recommend for families.

I travel frequently and this stay was the worst of this specific trip. Outside trash cans were overflowing, Interior smell was off putting, rooms were ok but towels were dirty. The water pressure was non existent in the room. Police were in the areas twice chasing people in one night. Lots of people wonder the parking lot. That being said the front desk person was great and the air conditioning was cold. Would not recommend it for those with small children as the location may not be the safest.

Front desk attendant was courteous, but when I told her I saw three blood stain on our sheets she just apologized and said she'd tell housekeeping. I even checked over my daughter to make sure it wasn't from her. Pretty gross. But what was most challenging was the fact that there was no air in the stairwell going up to the second floor not was the air on in our room. They had a sign posted asking you you to turn off lights and AC in room when you left. It took at least an hour to cool down.

There is a McDonald's restaurant directly in front of the hotel. You can walk on foot to reach it, and there is a gas station. The hotel has a washing machine and a machine that sells snacks and soft drinks. The rooms are clean and the swimming pool is also clean.

Positive: Location was close to highway. Negative: This hotel was very run down and reeked of marijuana. The staff taped all the exterior doors open with blue tape and anyone could walk in. The carpet shifted and was lumpy. The pool and hot tub had no heat. The juice machine at breakfast did not work. Negative: ""

We lost our son’s blanket during our stay. He was devastated. The owners(the entire family) searched the whole hotel until they found it. Great people who really do care. Thank you!

This is a very comfortable choice of hotels. Great pool and hot tub. Arcade and swing set for the younger crowd, and a fenced dog walk. Breakfast bar was fine with the exception of the mystery meat, neither bacon nor sausage 😋
