The good: The room was clean and looks recently redone. Room AC was cold and there’s a fridge and microwave. The employees were nice, although there was a communication barrier with limited English. Proximity to town and campus is good.
The bad: Over Labor Day weekend when it was in the 90s, the pool was disgustingly green and completely opaque. The shower head was lowered during renovations and was at face level for someone who’s 5’5. Tall people need to bend down for the shower and the mirror. The bathroom ceiling is only 7 ft high.
Bottom line: it was clean and almost half the price of other hotels on a game weekend. If you’re traveling with people who make you feel safe, it’ll do. But don’t expect any frills and I would make other plans for breakfast.
If I could give this a NEGATIVE star rating, I would!!!!! This hotel should NOT be in business until MAJOR repair & renovations are completed!!! You wouldn’t know the extent of it by the looks of the front lobby which led my mother and I to believe that we might be ok staying UNTIL we got to the room!!
This place is an absolute dump! There was mold around the tub and around the mirror over the sink. The door had no safety latch, the key card gave us trouble, and there were big gaps around the door where sunlight and any assortment of little creepy crawlies could come in. This also created an unsafe environment and we felt like anyone could bust the door down without much effort. There were exposed wires and only 2 lamps worked so we couldn’t see much which might have been what the owners wanted so we wouldn’t see any other major issues. I called Choice Hotels customer support. They seemed genuinely concerned at first but then told me that I would have to go to the manager to see what they could do. So, I did and they offered several other rooms. We looked at those & they were in the same shape with the exception of having a security panel for the doors. Then we were shown a back way to enter so we wouldn’t have to walk down the exterior sidewalk & dark breezeway to get to our room. It was a dark narrow hallway behind the lobby that was filthy, lined with old pictures & other things, and had exposed wires hanging down from the ceiling. I had to dodge several as we carefully walked down the hall. We asked to cancel our reservations and was only offered the 2nd night for free cancellation. We STILL HAD TO PAY for the first night!!!! I plan to call customer support again to see what they can do. I wish I had taken some pics, but I just wanted to get out of there! The pictures they have listed are not an accurate representation of what this place actually looks like. BEWARE!!!
Only one outlet worked in the entire room, while the rest did not have electrical covers and had exposed wires. There was visibly no battery in the smoke detector. The bed spread was covered in cigarette burns. There was no shower curtain liner, so the floor got soaked, and was tile with no lining. There were dead roaches in the room. The toilet ran constantly and loudly all day and night.
So if I had did my homework more and checked previous reviews I wouldn't have stayed and I promise I'm won't be coming back. I was only in town because my son is going to the University. First off the lobby looks great and then you get to the room where the key card barely works. The maids must only change the sheets because they definitely don't dust or wipe down the tables or stands. Headboard fill of dust on top of that my son has to kill a roach that was on the headboard that has no intention on moving. The bathroom toilet has hair on the seat and a bandaid on the tub drain. I most definitely won't be back here when I do come back to visit
It's got truck parking. I have never spent that kind of money on a quality inn untill this day. Supply and demand at its best. Quiet slept great. The owners are really nice and accommodating. Would stay again.
Clumps of hair in shower drain, shampoo bottle from previous guest in shower, stained towels and a facecloth that was embroidered so it probably came from someone's house. Yuk!
The hotel parking lot was very neat and clean. The front desk staff Kenya was very helpful and professional and answered any questions that I had. MaryAnn was who I made reservations with and everything was exactly how she said it would be. Great staff overall! My room was very clean and comfortable. Also breakfast was hot and delicious! Will definitely stay again!!!
The rooms are priced with your budget in mind. They have a breakfast and laundry facility. I really liked the people that worked there. Very nice and helpful. Bring your own coffee and extra pillows and you'll be set.
From the time I spoke with Amy Tuck, the sales manager, about reserving a block of rooms for our Conference attendees, my experience with La Quinta Inn and Suites in Starkville has been superb in all respects! It took me several days and phone calls
Came in town to celebrate our MSU grad and discovered this gem! We arrived at 10:30 AM in the mood for a hearty breakfast and Arepas did not disappoint!! The guys each enjoyed 2 Mañaneras and a Rumbera! I ordered a gluten free Good Morning with slic
Clean bathrooms with plenty of stalls for women. Good views of the field from majority of the seats. Usually easy to get a seat ( unless Oklahoma visiting). Get there early enough and you get to see how they chalk the lines.
This place serves the best tacos and the best central American food in Starkville. One bite of their mouthwatering tortas and you would immediately have an explosion of flavors in your mouth. This gem of a place is located on 182 right across the roa
Great living place, always quick maintenance with anything Iâve ever needed fixed. Itâs quiet and peaceful. All neighbors keep to themselves and are quiet and friendly in passing. A lot of friendly people and dogs at the onsite dog park. Pool is
From the time we exited our vehicle we were struck by the sleek decor and pristine atmosphere. Our server presented a menu of delicacies that admittedly evoked mouth watering. We ordered water and a sampler platter of appetizers plus a vegan meatball
These were the BEST donuts! Their cinnamon twist delicious!!! The ladies behind the counter were so friendly and nice...I can't wait for my next trip down to Starkville!!
It's well kept and an asset to the community. They need to open the new parking. I thought it wasn't open; but when I left the fields the other day, the cones had been moved and people parked there. Still a great place!
