This OVER-PRICED Motel advertises a HOT BREAKFAST and it does NOT deliver, unless you consider one Belgium Waffle maker a hot breakfast. ||This is a $80 caliber Motel charging $130 only because they can. But for the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge RR, this place would go bust. The train trip is well worth the visit, but suggest you stay elsewhere for the price.||The Young man on the Desk during the day and afternoon was a true delight and is eager to be helpful. Im sure if he treid, he could get a better paying job with real advancement opportunity.||The room was marginally clean. The bath tube was not. We were there two nights. It was cleaner after we showred! There is NO nightstand on the left side of the bed. The A/C is an old window unit place high onto a wall over the bath vanity. A bit noisy but it worked. ||The location is two mile from downtown and the train station. An easy commute.
Just checked in. The staff and management are great. Friendly and lots of smiles, Very welcoming after a hot day. They are doing some remodeling and my room looks fantastic. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, carpet looks brand new .They are a little further out from the historic Main street but there is a Durango Transit Trolley stop right across the street if you don't feel like fighting traffic. I would definitely stay here again. And, BTW, they are about 100 feet from the river with a trail you can walk down and watch the rafters go by.
If you are looking for an affordable (this is a populær Colorado tourist destination) location on the north side of Durango, this is the place for you. Rates are relatively cheap, the rooms are loaded, the location allows for easy access and the staff (kudos to Joell!!!) are very helpful.
The rooms have small microwaves and fridge/freezers that actually work well! Ice machines are available in a separate room ( you need your room key to access) and were never empty
The continental breakfast did leave a little to be desired (a bowl of fruit, cold cereal or porridge (bagged) and coffee and hot chocolate. There may have been a few other things, but didn't spend much time looking. There was an appropriate sized seating area for the size of the property.
Staff, as mentioned was great! Joell, who seemed to be working all hours of the day, answered questions, called me by name and was efficient with his front desk duties.
All in all, we will return if in the Durango area!
Definitely spend another 50 bucks and go with a better brand of hotel. The walls were thin. The room air conditioning smelled. You could hear the maids vacuuming on both sides of you in the morning and they wanted you out promptly by 11:00 paid 175 for a king .
The staff member assisting us was the most accommodating & personable employee at any hotel I've ever dealt with. I'm due for knee surgery in 2 months, & it's painful to walk. He made sure to get me a ground floor room with adjacent parking, which was greatly appreciated. The only negative was having to climb to the 2nd floor for ice, as the facility was undergoing renovation.
Rooms for clean and comfortable.There was a bathtub as there are no pool or hot tub facilities at this location. The big disappointment was the breakfast: coffee, cereal and yogurt. Not up to the standards of other Quality Inns we've stayed at for the past week. Good Coffee house across the street and food trucks downtown have a selection.
The rooms are clean and tye beds are comfortable. If you only need a place to sleep and shower this will definitely meet that need. However, if you value customer service, you may want to look elsewhere. Someone from the hotel called us at around noon on the day we were scheduled to arrive, they wanted to tell us that checkout would be at 11am no matter what time we arrived. We reserved three nights so this seemed unnecessary. The shampoo and conditioner provided had been opened and used by someone else. On our last night we asked for late checkout because we are Choice Privilege members, every other choice hotel gives an extra hour, this one would only give us a half hour longer. They forgot we asked for the half hour and still called our room at 11:08 to ask us to leave.
This hotel was a good price…and had a good location. It served the purpose for the one night that we needed it. If needed in the future…we would most likely select this same hotel and also use it as a recommendation to others. Thank you for being just what we needed at the right time.
This location was perfect, clean and well stocked. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious thank you Brenda, We loved all the breakfast options. I must say we travel a lot and this is the first time I slept in any hote
