Quality Inn Crestview Near Eglin AFB - Featured Reviews (540)
I stayed here for one night and within that one night I wished I was somewhere else but unfortunately I couldn't afford to change locations. When I first arrived I was satisfied because the outside and lobby were impressive and looked wonderful. As soon as I came out of the elevator I was filled with worry but hoped I was wrong. I entered my room and my worry was proven correct.
Upon entering the room I realized it smelled terrible. The room felt wet as did everything within it. I'm going to put that down to humidity. I entered the bathroom and all of the metal surfaces were rusty. Everything in the bathroom (which only contained the toilet and a shower/tub combo)was dirty. The toilet seat was clean which was a bonus. I made sure to check the beds for bedbugs and thank God there were none! The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, the blankets were thin. The cover on top of the bed felt like a window drape with a rubber backing. Needless to say I didn't sleep well.
In the morning I was more than ready to leave. I decided to try the breakfast and was even more disappointed and to be honest kind of angry because I had a 13 hour drive ahead of me. There was almost no food and nothing to drink. The waffle batter was almost empty, and there was no syrup. There was barely anything to drink, only some coffee in the machine and some apple juice that I managed to get the last of. There were no bread products aside from a few slices of white bread. There was some dry cereal poured out in containers. There were a few jam bottles.
When you asked the front desk associate for help because things were empty she either couldn't find things or didn't seem to have access to the pantry. I know this isn't her fault so I do not blame her. I just wonder at the lack of help for her or training so she knows where things are. I have worked in a hotel before and there should be a worker that does the kitchen. It is not an easy job and the front desk shouldn't be expected to keep everything stocked and running smoothly.
Honestly I would give this hotel a zero star if possible. I will never stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone I know if they have to stay in the area.
About the only good thing about this hotel was that the price was slightly less than many others in the area, the pool water was clean, and it was right next door to the Cracker Barrel.
The outside looks wonderful. Don't be fooled. Inside and especially the rooms are not at all good. I stayed 2 times in 2 weeks, for 5 days and then 3. First room had a door that had no seal, so the light from the hallway shone in all night and the deadbolt didn't work at all. I did the usual check of both beds and luckily there were no signs of bugs and the sheets seemed clean and were soft. The sheer curtains had a lot of holes in them and didn't completely close, neither did the darkening curtains. The ceiling over the sinks had water stains and a weird hole. The plumbing in the bathroom was all loose. After unpacking a little I fell into bed. In the morning I took a shower and was surprised when there was dirt visibly washing off my feet. I had been walking barefoot in that room for only 2 hours at the most. On further examination the carpet was absolutely filthy with very old spills and God knows what. I wore slippers for the rest of my stay. Breakfast was waffles, watery eggs, cold dried out sausages, cereal, white bread, and mini muffins (sometimes). The machines with "juice" were noisy and didn't look good at all. They were also left running with juice in them all day. No idea if they ever really got cleaned. I felt lucky to score a couple of small yoghurts for the next day. After a couple of days there was a very strong smell of pot or hash or something, mostly on the second floor but it travelled all the way to the lobby. I asked the front desk and the lady didn't know what I was talking about.
The next stay was not by choice as plans changed unexpectedly. In the first room the A/C wasn't able to get lower than about 77. Second room had working A/C but the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work and the refrigerator was completely out of order. The deadbolt only worked if you lifted up on the door very hard and the stopper on the sink was disconnected. By then it was the morning of day 2 of my 3 day stay so I didn't ask for yet another room but it was pretty humid by the time I checked out.
All in all not at all what I expected for over $100 a day. This could be quite a nice hotel if they would just invest some money into maintenance. Seriously, rent a dang carpet cleaner and do a few rooms a day! I really have no idea where the high reviews come from , because I sure didn't see anything that justified them. I can't wait for the 2 hotels under construction to open. Maybe the competition will either drive the price down or kick management in the butt to upgrade.
After a long drive just looking for a good night's rest. Given a room that was in the process of being worked on. Hole in wall and nasty black stuff in tub. Asked for another room, urine all over toilet, safety lock broken, smoke detector missing the battery. This place is nasty, dirty and unsafe. I wish I hadn't wasted my money, I'd rather slept in the car.
Positive: Location was convenient for our needs Negative: Was not very clean. Lots of things need repair in the room and around the property. Didn?t feel very unsafe, but didn?t feel uncomfortable. Some weird stains and lack of cleanliness. Really wished I have paid a little more to stay somewhere else.
People beware!!!
Construction near the road to get to the hotel was a mess and hard to see especially at night to get into the hotel. Not the hotels fault and the pictures look great online there and the price was really good. Now I know why. Terrible rooms. Our room had holes in there. One that accesses the shower but the shower wouldn’t work. Then the electrical outlets had no covers on them and roaches were coming out of one them. Never again. Glad it was only one night.
Front desk staff very nice. Housekeeping is disgusting. The room was clean 7 0utta 10. But the 7 went to 0. There was blood (some so thick it was flakey and crusty)about 10 spots on white comforter. I wish I had taken picture. But I pulled it off bed so quick and went down to front desk to show them. I was given a clean one to put on bed. Sooo gross. Really housekeeping??? You dont wash the bedding? And you dont notice bloody spots all over, both sides of comforter, and its white. The only thing that would have made it worse would've been💩. Every cloud has a silver lining??? Pool area was disgusting overgrowth of weeds everywhere one of those 6-foot table umbrellas was in the bottom of the pool along with debris and dirt just gross looking. Back door does not unlock with key so if you go out the back door you get locked out and then you have to walk around the building to the front door, also went to room 221 instead of 223 when getting off the elevator and we were staying in Room 223 but our key unlocked room 221 also??? Staff of the hotel needs to be revamped management needs to come in and do something. Breakfast was decent front desk staff was nice but you need to expect more when you're spending over $120 a night.
Positive: location Negative: room not clean, coffee cups missing, toilet running, towels shabby, soap empty... Breakfast - cold eggs, no meat or grits, no cups. hotel is way overpriced, I paid $133? including fees. This is a $49 hotel at best.
Positive: The lobby was very impressive when entering. Negative: The room was clean in the basic sense of the word. I could tell the sheets were clean but I did find a long hair underneath the bottom sheet above the mattress. And there was some hair on the base of the toilet and scuff marks On some walls. Negative: ""

Lovely hotel, and a great breakfast! We stopped on our way back from Disney, but I would be happy to go and stay there for a vacation. The bathroom was HUGE, with so much counter space and a lovely bathtub. 5 stars, I was very happy.
This is a mixed review as the room itself was good, but its location and noise level was terrible. The service was 50/50. The food also was 50/50. Iâll go by category.
To preface, we were given the 1st floor and arrived around 10:30pm.

The Shrimp Po-boy is good but hold the bottom of it so your shrimp and the rest of it doesn't fall out. The onion rings are also great. She has the Square app so you can pay with debit card if you want, too.
This place is now across the street from the plaza/center.

Had a great Valentine's Day meal. Fresh seafood always cooked hot and fresh with great service and very fair prices. A hidden gem without crazy tourist traffic like decent seafood places in Destin.
