This is an older hotel, so it is shabby BUT it is clean. The staff obviously care about each other and they clearly work very hard. I do not fault the staff for the dated rooms but the hotel company.
The pool did not have towels which made things tricky but we managed. The pool was clean and comfortable.
The location is perfect to explore the area and is located very near a police station. Restaurants, grocery stores and all manner of shops are located within a 5 minute drive.
And the family pet is welcome to stay here for a nominal fee. We will definitely stay here again.
Thank you.
The only reason I'm giving this any stars is because the staff really did try to be accommodating with what they had to work with, and the room was clean upon arrival. Other than that I think the coil spring beds have been there since the place was built. The locks and hardware on the doors look like they have been broken into dozens of times, leaving you with a sense that you may wake up to visitors in your room in the middle of the night. The gym area was disgusting as well as the laundry area. There were some sketchy individuals just laying on the sidewalks outside the rooms on the 1st floor. The lamp shades were gross maybe just from age. No housekeeping services and if you wanted more towels you had to carry your old ones to the office to replace them. Trash was lying around outside. The location was OK but sirens went off almost constantly during the night. Starbucks was within walking distance which was a plus but didn't feel comfortable letting the teens walk anywhere alone.
It is clear that the owners do not spend money on upkeep and repairs. The hotel is really beat up on the outside and hallways and doors. The tiles in the hotel bathroom are broken and in pieces.
Good: Breakfast was surprisingly good:
Rooms are large and clean
Beds are comfortable
Front Desk Staff is very nice
Pool
Location to downtown
Bad: The outside is in bad shape doors to rooms are ripped up.
Only one ice machine for the entire place
Stairwells and elevator are in bad shape
Anything broken is not repaired
Overall for the price being under $100 a night you get what you pay for.
7/20/24 Crack house, 1st 48 seen. Please see this before you book a stay for any amount of time. Upon arriving I Was given pet lovers room that I did not request on line. I got that resolved. I made it to the room after 15 min delay. One person covering the desk on a Saturday Water festival night. I called the desk to switch rooms from 439 on front to 430 on the back. All rooms on the back side of building has no sun light tree block the room. That rooms are musky and smell like mold The doors have opening were rodents can get to you while you sleep.
There were 4 foreign men drinking cases of beer in the rain. Music up loud in the rain and singing very loudly. They use beer bottles for the mic. I went back to the original room to prevent from getting sick from mold. Order pillow and pillow cases. Front desk said no supervisors was available to speak the whole night. Feeling trapped due to flooding rain outside we disinfect and clean. The front desk would not give me fresh towel until I took back the stain pillow, the pillows the sheets, soiled mattress pad. No refund, No respect, and you will be over look like a burden when you ask for help. The hallways are like a smoke house. Cancer cells is in the air. This building needs to be inspected exterminated, and knock down from the 1st floor to the fourth. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED GOOD PPL 7/20/24 The crack house of Beaufort Sc
Staff was very unprofessional, Literally walked in and saw a roach on the wall. Room was dirty I’m pretty sure that was mold on the door, coffee maker was dirty and had hair in it, TV didn’t work.
Long story short don’t stay here just spend the extra money somewhere else.
This was my second time staying here. Neither time was good, i just wanted to give it a fair chance. The beds are uncomfortable. The locks are falling off. One good kick and it's off. The rooms are long overdue for a remodel. They aren't the cleanest. There are kids (including teens) everywhere running into guests. Guests are smoking weed in their rooms, it's so strong u can smell it 3 rooms away. There is no way someone is running this hotel. Even the pool hours are ridiculous. On the bright side, the location is good, but so are the 3 or 4 other hotels surrounding this one. Go somewhere else, or sleep in ur car.
Love this hotel. The staff is always very accommodating and friendly. I stay here often for work and am never disappointed with them. Rooms are always clean and inviting. It is an older building but I judge the visit on the amazing ppl who work here and how comfortable my stay is at such a good price.
Positive: The staff was very friendly and attentive, conveniently located, and bedding/bath appeared clean. Fine in a pinch. Negative: Deadbolt didn't lock (Staff fixed). Rusted fixtures, crumbling walls, worn paint. Mattress VERY hard and pillows worn down/lumpy. Couldn't see parking lot/my car from backside room. Late-night parking difficult. Enclosed stairwells dim and sketchy.
What a Gem! VERY kind and welcoming staff. VERY clean and simple rooms. Excellent location as many have said. Walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants and park overlooking water. GREAT air conditioning, clean pool. If going back to the area wo
Exceeded our expectations, what a treat! The room was lovely and extremely comfortable, the house is stunning and the location is perfect. The true gem of the Rhett House however is the staff. We felt instantly welcomed and were treated as treasured
We were so tired of driving and were welcomed with water bottles for being members. Such a quiet little spot. Perfectly placed near the main roads. They have a gas station and sandwich spot conveniently near by. Nice and clean. They have a board of r
It's a nice hotel and the rooms are clean.
My only issue was there I saw 2 bugs in the bathroom. Yes, it was clean and I assume it's because the building is so big that you can't expect to get rid of them completely since it's cold now.
Still, it w
The staff was so helpful and accommodating. I accidentally only booked one room for our 2 night trip @ a travel website. I called before we left home and they, thankfully, had room to let us stay the second night. Good breakfast options. Comfy bed. Q
Easily accessible by car and by foot. Great parking, easy mobile entry. Close to downtown. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the bridge and the harbor. The building was extremely clean, updated and well kept. There was a common kitchen area o
Super delicious tacos, and the friendliest service. Birria is some of the best I've had in my life. Inexpensive prices. Mango juice is really fresh and tasty too.
I have been training Jiu Jitsu here for maybe 6 months or so and the instruction is very high level. We learn a lot every class. Also there is a nice balance between instruction and rolling. We do 1 hour class and 30 minutes rolling each day. There i
We dined here for family night and our group had a great time. The inside was very pretty and decorated nicely for the Christmas holiday. Staff was friendly. Beers were cold. Food was very good too!! Stroganoff, pilaf, chicken/sausage gumbo, steamed
This place used to be great and had the best thin crust pizza. But now they have changed to a THICK crust that tastes like dry raw dough. Their menu does not indicate the change and has no options for crust style. We threw our entire pizza in the tra
