Quality Inn & Suites Kansas City - Independence I-70 East - Hotel in Independence - 4200 S Noland Rd, USA

I usually don’t post reviews but this one was bad.. I will not be staying here again. I was charged $200 for a one night stay that should’ve only costed $80.. The hallway carpets were black and stained. Our bed sheets, the couch and the chair were all stained, the wall divider between the beds and couch was very unstable. There pipes are old because the first few seconds of running water were brown. Do not be fooled by the pictures you see like I was. See my pictures for the realistic version

I went to check in and was told I didn't have a reservation and they couldn't find my confirmation or my name. After about 10 minutes they finally said they found one under my name. The room was partially unpainted, the air conditioner didn't work correctly, and there was bugs in the bathroom. When we got back to the room later that evening the front door was locked and we had to wait for another guest to let us in. No where in the web site that we booked from said anything about having to pay up front an additional $100 in case we did anything to the room, then have to wait to get it back until after they personally check the room before we could check out. I will never stay here again, it sure wasn't worth $145 for one night.

The toilet was very loose and it didn't take much for it to shift left and right, the small conditioner bottles they provided were used and the soap bar was out of the packaging already, the wall between the bed and couch was even looser than the toilet and there were crumbs all over the carpet, the middle drawer on the dresser had a broken handle which they put inside of the drawer, the location is terrible and the whole place smelled like a dumpster, the counters and floors were not cleaned in the whole room. There were no elevators which makes no sense because there are rooms for 6+ people above the first floor which is unreasonable. The pool was also closed for no reason which wasn't posted about online and the pictures taken of this place that you see online were more than likely from when they first built the place because nothing looked like the pictures. Underneath the mattresses were items and stains so they certainly weren't checking the beds really. We were supposed to stay in room 211 but we left within minutes of looking around. $200 for this? Absolutely not.

Do not stay! No matter how much you pay is too much! If you have any issues they don’t care just want your money. We were not able to get any hot water in the shower. We tried to call the front desk but the phone in the room didn’t work. We asked for a handicap room and there was a vehicle parked on the cut out to be able to use a walker. We had to go over the curb. They will not refund our money because we didn’t contact them to fix the hot water problem. I did the phone was not working! They say I should have come to the front desk. I didn’t for 1 I wasn’t dressed and the other reason is we were in the very back of the hotel and with our back issues we chose to get ready to leave and talk to them when we checked out.

DONT DO IT!!! This is the absolute most disgusting place I’ve ever walked in to. The lobby is misleading because when you walk in you’ll have hope that it’s a decent stay and you will be immediately disappointed. Walking down the hallway it smelled like body odor and cheap perfume. The hallways and doors were all busted and visually dirty. Walking into my room I immediately noticed so many outlet cover that were warped or not even put on properly. Chipped paint EVERYWHERE. Dirt all over the walls, switches and door knobs. I HAD TO WIPE OFF THE HEADBOARD BECAUSE I COULD LITERALLY SEE STUFF SMEARED ON IT. Burn marks in the sheets and the Bible has some weird sticky substance on it. Even the refrigerator is covered in rust and gunk. And no, I’m not at all exaggerating. I come with receipts. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I’ve never been MORE uncomfortable in a hotel than I am here right now. I’d leave and get a new hotel if it didn’t mean I’d lose my $100 CASH deposit. Cuz if you use a car it takes a week to get back. 0/10 disgusting. There’s nothing QUALITY about this place. I feel like I’m sleeping in a trap house tonight. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

They are not a fair business! My boyfriend and I paid IN FULL for a room knowing that we would not be able to arrive until the following morning (3:30ish AM). However, our plans got delayed and we did not arrive until 7AM. We still wanted to sleep for a couple of hours before the 11AM check-out time. They told us that we could not stay in the room because it was too late. I realize now that I should have notified the hotel of our arrival time, but I did not think it was important since the room was fully paid for and the check out time had not passed! We were upset but needed to rest, so we left and went to a hotel that could accommodate us. I called the third-party that I reserved the room from and they talked to the hotel. They would not issue us a refund, but they told us that we could come back stay for the couple hours left on the reservation. Why was this a problem the first time??? Unfortunately, by this time, we had already checked into another hotel. I do not recommend staying at this hotel unless you plan on taking the risk of not getting the room you paid for.

Dirty and smelly. Front desk person took 45 minutes to check us in despite having already fully paid and booked online. Half the keycards just stopped working midway through. Cracks in the ceiling and walls, a/c unit falling off the wall, and a bug in bed. This hotel should be half the price it is then it MIGHT be worth the nonsense.

This is the first Quality Inn I've ever[ visited in this condition... Walking into the building, one side of the double doors was locked. Fourier down the hall felt like, and smelled like an old classic hotel. When we opened the room door, thats when things got horrible. The room REAKED of bleach, like they just cleaned up fluids from a person. I'm not exaggerating, the fumes burned our eyes... Drug users outside, and a girl peeing in the grass out front didn't help the situation. The trim was falling off the wall, one light worked, the others did not. Staff refunded our payment without incident. Didn't even touch the beds, and as you can see from the pictures, they weren't made well, Looks like they either just pulled the bedding out of a bag, or didn't replace the sheets. Overall, looks like people turn tricks here or something... Waled in, and right back out within a couple minures. Again, nice staff, super poor property condition.
