Quality Inn & Suites Detroit Metro Airport - Hotel in Romulus - 9555 Middlebelt Rd, USA

What a dump. They're apparently going through renovations but the entire hotel needs to be redone. We booked through park sleep and fly. It said we were supposed to have breakfast. That did not happen apparently due to renos. When we got to hotel, at first we were told they didn't have a room available. Then they moved things around the gave us a room. The room walls are coming off. Stained. Rips in bed blankets. Stains on mattresses. Lighting was so dim in bathrooms. Stains in tub. This hotel is in a rough neighborhood. Honestly not worth the money we paid. Super ghetto. The reception staff was nice. The only pro. Also, when we returned, we were supposed to have a shuttle take us to hotel and the shuttle guy was giving us trouble saying something about him not taking people to that hotel even though we had a slip that literally said that is the shuttle we take. He ended up taking us after I made a fuss. Horrible stressful experience.

This stay was part of a sleep/drive/fly package.||Room key didn’t work after recoding x 2. In the next room, there was no knob to turn on AC. There clerk assured me there was, so I went back and took a photo. There was a line at desk every time I went back (I had to go back at least 4 times) and I had to wait. The 3rd room appeared to be an upgrade and nice, but there was mold on ceiling. Disgusting stuff was around knobs in bathroom sink, bed looked like it had been slept in (sheets wrinkled). I laid towels on top of bed to sleep. There was candy/fake rose petals under ottoman. I didn’t sleep well; it just felt dirty! ||The front desk told some customers to park in the hotel parking lot next door (and that it'd be fine) after the customers told her there were no parking spaces at the hotel and that the other hotel clearly had signs that told non-customers to not park there. I could tell they were apprehensive and did not feel comfortable parking at another hotel.||I didn’t feel safe with clientele that was down the hallway of 1st 2 rooms and request was ignored to be moved to a different hallway initially.||Front desk clerk was pleasant.||Airport shuttle at 3am got a flat tire prior to picking me up. I waited 1 hr, but my pickup time was on the hour, so my time was 30 minutes. After all this, I was apprehensive about leaving my car during my vacation.||Upon my return, I called the hotel several times to confirm where I was to meet the shuttle at. I was misdirected several times. When I finally figured out where to go I had a long wait and when the shuttle finally arrived I felt like he only wanted to take persons to the hotel next to mine, but I felt like he let me on because he could see that I'd been crying. There was something metal where a seatbelt was supposed to be. It was approximately 1am and my flight had landed around 11:30pm.||It was my first time doing a sleep, drive, fly stay and I expected accurate instructions. It was late at night. I spent my day dealing with airpirt lines and customs. My patience was gone. I was really upset and crying (and that's not something I do easily). I hadn't been happy with the hotel/shuttle experience prior to my trip and the exasperation kept mounting with my return experience. I will never stay at that hotel again or the hotels that the shuttle services. This whole experience was disheartening to say the least.||I would've had a better start to my vacation if I had just driven from home at 1 am to catch a 5:30am flight.

I'll start with the location. Sure it was close to the airport but so are lots of other hotels. This one was under renovation which it obviously needed badly but it didn't look like they'd made it very far because the place was a disaster. The shower was dirty. It actually had mold and hair from a previous customer in it. There was a cockroach in my bed climbing on my back while I was sleeping. I slapped it so I was able to take a picture of it and it was in fact a cockroach. I'm not making this one up. The front desk was not a desk. It was a card table set up outside of the front desk area that was under construction with wires hanging from the ceiling. The morning girl and the night girl. Although not rude, we're certainly not pleasant. Both times I had to interact with them they were on the phone on their earbuds and I wasn't sure if they were talking to me or the person on the earbuds. At 12:05 a.m. The smoke alarm went off and rang for at least 15 minutes. That was a rude awakening. We have used the park sleep fly app before and always been happy. I will use it again but be sure not to use this particular hotel. Unlike the other Park, sleep, fly hotels that use a parking company, this hotel merely had us park in their own lot and give them our keys. Their lot was packed. We managed to find the last spot. I was sure that when we got back our car would be gone but it was still there. They had given us a phone number to call upon landing and I had to call it seven times before someone finally answered that combined with the weight for the shuttle meant that it was almost an hour after landing before we got back to our car.

I would like to tell the upper management that sometimes it's okay to close down while you're under repairs. The entire hotel was currently under massive renovations. Most of the whole experience was under renovations. The big saving Grace was the woman in the front desk. Jennifer. Who was incredibly nice and kind. But the place has no breakfast or workout room because everything is under construction. But the rooms were nice and the beds were very comfy.

I’m a choice hotels privilege member and honestly this is the worst choice hotel I’ve stayed in. There was no warning upon booking that the place is under construction. The room was terrible. Huge hole in the bathroom door. Stained towels. The tv wasn’t working correctly and the decorations were falling apart. The window shade also was not working. The ice machine on the third floor was also out of order. I’ve stayed at other quality inns that were much better appointed for a better price and no deposit. The only good thing I have to say is the room itself was clean and the staff at the front desk was nice. I wouldn’t consider staying at this location again.

Where do I start. No parking they rent out the parking spots to non guest. For the airport. The whole place is falling apart. My room was dirty. Black hairs in the bed shower. The shades were broken. The shower didn’t work. The toilet plugged up. Front desk staff were very rude. No breakfast. No pool no gym ice machines on the 2 nd and 3 rd floor out of service. The whole place should be shut down. Do not stay here. It’s the worst quality in. I e ever stayed at. Shady people all over. They just take advantage of people on lay over. From the airport. Dirty run down. Dump.

If I could leave zero stars I would. This place is absolutely appalling. Door lock is almost busted off the wall. Rust in bathroom on toliet paper hold is filthy with air and debris. And rusty. Floor was filthy covered in dirt,bugs and hair. Found blood all over the lamp shade next to bed. Dead bugs on floor. White powder substance on headboard and frame. Bed dirty hotel smells of marijuana. Hallways covered in wrappers and filth Not clean at all

Terrible experience! The whole building smelled of pot and musky. The elevator was down, everything just looked dirty! The worst part was the customer service. The "lady" at the front desk was absolutely wretched. Find another hotel! A one star review is being nice.
