Quality Inn & Suites at The Outlets Mercedes/Weslaco - Hotel in Mercedes - 4701 E Expressway 83, USA

Outside was dirty. The bathroom tub was not clean. The hot delicious breakfast was a fraud. Choice hotels actually have different breakfast standards for their different level of hotels and this place is obviously not following the corporate standards. The hot in the breakfast was a waffle. That is it. The coffee tastes poor. The available bread is just old looking white or wheat bread. No bagels or English muffins. I feel a little defrauded as I would have chosen to stay at Hilton garden inn if not for the false promises of a breakfast.

Stayed one evening. It was a budget motel so I wasn't expecting much. Room was large and clean. Bed was not comfortable. AC worked great but was loud. Water did not get hot in shower(lukewarm at best). Room needed updating(paint, broken furniture, sofa was badly stained). Grounds were well maintained.

Positive: Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was good with a decent selection. room was also very clean with the exception of the sleeper sofa which looked to be stained with i dont know what. Other than that all was good. Negative: n/a Negative: ""

DO NOT GO HERE. The general manager Tony is a scammer. The room we had was FILTHY. The fridge was broken, it was warm and leaked water. There was a loud continuous knocking sound upstairs and the heater blew out a foul fishy smell. When we addressed the situation we were told they didn’t know what the sound was bc the room above us was empty yet when we asked to switch rooms they said there was nothing available. The woman told us the heater could be covered in dirt on the inside but they don’t clean them. That is unsanitary and unsafe. I have a one year old we needed to keep medication and milk in the fridge for and we couldn’t. The room was not functional and the general manager is an absolute disgrace of a human being. He was rude and disrespectful. We were rushed out when we said we couldn’t stay there with a room that didn’t work and the gm lied saying we wanted to leave so he could scam us out of $250. Tried calling corporate and they told us the general manager is the only one who could give us our money for the nights we did NOT stay. Tony, I hope you lose your job you are absolutely foul. This place is disgusting and the people are even more so.

Positive: Location. Close to shopping and restaurants. Negative: Check in person was rude. He seemed like we were bothering him for asking general questions about the hotel. He was very short and quick to get rid of us at check in. We felt so unwelcomed. Negative: ""

I looked back on my bill after staying for multiple nights, and after being promised the same rate as the first evening they increased my room rate by $10 more each evening i stayed which was 5 evenings. The manager was supposed too contact me to make it right according to corporate but never have gotten a call back in almost a month now.
